Shop potted plants and fresh produce, try crickets, build your own terrarium & more at this weekend market

Do you have green fingers or have a passion for gardening? Plant enthusiasts and aspiring farmers will delight at this green market taking place on 30 April 2023. The Green Market @ Boon Lay will be held at Boon Lay Community Centre and will host over 25 booths that will excite your inner gardening geek. Even if you’re like me and don’t have that much affinity with plants, there’s also a series of non-plant related activities for you to enjoy.

The Green Market @ Boon Lay will feature booths selling locally grown vegetables for you to taste some of our local fresh produce. You might even be surprised by the wide selection of veggies grown in Singapore. You can also find new plants to spruce up your home with potted plants from Little Botany, The Plant People, Greenfingers Singapore, Chengtai Nursery and more.

You’ll also be able to stock up on some of your gardening necessities and tools at the market. If you’re looking to repot some of your plants, make sure you check out Soil Social which makes microbiologically-diverse compost that is healthier for your plants and will help them thrive.

Feeling adventurous? This booth might have just the right thing that will test your guts — literally. Future Protein Solutions will be bringing their Frozen Crickets and Cricket Protein Powder to the market for those game enough to add some crunch to their diet. In case you’re wondering, yes these are safe for consumption.

If you’re not lucky enough to be blessed with green fingers, there’s a series of non-gardening related booths that will certainly appeal to you. Grab some cute crochet knick knacks from bonelessmochi.crochet. For those who want to look like you have green fingers, you can go for the cute crocheted plants. There’s even a booth by Pawfoods for you to pick up some snacks for your furkids.

Other brands making an appearance at the market include YarnWorks, @cutestuffiesco, LiNN TOTs and more. Coffee Bandit Cafe & food truck will also be setting up shop for you to fill your tummies in shopping and checking out the activities.

If you’re looking for some crafty activities to keep your kids busy while you explore the market, there’s a free earth lamp painting to celebrate Earth month in April. While the kids are busy getting creative, you can attend a mini terrarium workshop and a floral tea appreciation for you to enjoy. Admission to Green Market @ Boon Lay is free.
