1. Freedom Beach

If you’re looking for a secluded slice of paradise away from the tourism masses, why not visit Freedom Beach – turquoise water and fine, soft sand! There are a handful of small stalls serving drinks and light bites.

You can reach there via a short hiking trail through the hills, or if you’d rather skip the climb, keep an eye out for local trucks – they sometimes offer rides up and down the steep hill for around 100–200THB. One tip is to skip the flip-flops for the walk down; closed-toe shoes will serve you much better on the trail.

2. Bang Tao Beach

Stretching along Phuket’s west coast, Bang Tao Beach unfolds as one of the island’s longest and most scenic shorelines. If you’re looking for a place to stay nearby, Cassia Phuket sits just behind it, tucked within the sprawling Laguna Phuket complex. The hotel itself isn’t directly on the sand, but a free shuttle boat glides guests from the hotel’s pier straight to the beach, so the ocean always feels within easy reach.

3. Tann Beach Club

Tann Beach Club is best known for its nightly fire shows, held twice daily at 7pm and 9pm. While reserved seating gets the best view, guests can also watch and take photos from outside the seating areas if they prefer not to pay for a table. Minimum spend varies depending on how close you are to the beach. 

Overall, it’s considered a pricier but scenic option on Karon Beach – worth it for sunset and the fire show. For more information and reservations, click here.

4. Cooking Class 

The Private Thai Cooking Class by The Front Village in Karon, Phuket is a hands-on culinary session to learn how to cook authentic Thai food in a traditional Thai setting, with skilled and friendly chefs who imparted the secrets of Thai cooking to us in a fun atmosphere. After cooking, meals are enjoyed in an air-conditioned dining area, often finished off with a complimentary fresh fruit platter prepared by the staff. Each participant also receives a recipe booklet and a certificate of completion to take home!

5. Yoga Retreat

CC’s Hideaway is a boutique wellness hotel and yoga retreat located in the hills of Kata and Karon. We started our day with a 75-minute morning yoga class at 8am, a great mind and body reset before the day even really begins. The class is conducted by an English instructor, and is open to both genders.

All you have to do is turn up in your yoga clothes and a yoga mat, and equipment (blocks, etc) are provided for each session. You may choose to book and pay for the classes here to secure a spot. Do note that prior bookings are not required.

6. Snorkelling

Khai Nai Island is home to a beachside restaurant and plenty of deck chairs lining the main beach available for rentals, making it easy to relax between swims. We tried off-the-beach snorkelling right near the shore and were rewarded with sightings of colourful reef fish darting through the shallows. With calm waters, gentle waves, and clear visibility, it’s a relaxed, welcoming spot for snorkellers of all levels – just head in and explore.

7. Mamasita Mexican 

Mamasita Mexican is a solid pick for group hangouts or if you’re craving casual, authentic Mexican food. The menu covers all the classics: tacos, burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, quesadillas, nachos, and homemade salsas, along with flavorful vegetarian options, all prepared with quality ingredients. 8. Have a Bagel Day

Bagel lovers, we found a cosy, minimalist cafe in Cherngtalay, known for freshly baked, homemade bagels – dare we say the best in town. Beyond the plain bagels, you can also order Ready Bagel sandwiches like Bagel & Lox (265THB) and BLT (225THB) – great grab-and-go options to enjoy by the beach. Within the area, you can also check out Boat Avenue Phuket and Porto de Phuket.

Have a Bagel Day is a great spot for a relaxed breakfast or brunch if you’re craving something other than Thai food during your trip.

Kiri Restaurant is a beachside dining concept with multiple branches across Phuket’s most popular coastlines including Kata, Karon, and Naithon Beach. The menu spans both comfort food from different cuisines (Japanese, Indian, and Western) and authentic Thai classics such as BBQ Pork Ribs (from 390THB), Roasted Duck in Red Curry (200THB), Kra Prao (180THB), and many more. 1. Hamdeok Seoubong Beach

Hamdeok Beach is known for its white sandy beach and turquoise seas. It became one of the most popular beaches for tourists in Jeju, described as “Korea’s Maldives”. Along the beach, there’s an Instagram-worthy place – Cafe Delmoondo, selling a wide selection of pastries and beverages, a great spot for admiring the gorgeous ocean view. We also made our way to Seoubong Peak for a hike, located next to the end of Hamdeok Beach.

2. Seongsang Ilchulbong

Seongsang Ilchulbong is a UNESCO World Heritage and a designated natural reserve. The hike up to the summit takes about 30 minutes; an hour to complete the hike up and down. There’s an entrance fee of 5,000KRW per adult and 2,500KRW for youths and children to reach the summit. If the weather is clear, you can see the shape of Hallasan Mountain and Udo Island. Otherwise, you can opt for the coastal walking trail that is entirely free, offering low-intensity seaside views, which does not go up to the summit. 

Parking is free, but the lots tend to get crowded, so finding a space to park your car can be tricky. Operating hours may vary by season, so it’s worth checking ahead of your visit.

3. Bijarim Forest 

Thousands of centuries-old Japanese torreya trees call this forest home, some standing for 500 to 800 years – including the towering 810-year-old “New Millennium” tree. The loop trail is easy and accessible (stroller- and wheelchair-friendly), with a relaxed walk taking about 1 to 1.5 hours. Great for all ages and a perfect way to immerse yourself in nature. There’s an entrance fee of 3,000KRW and parking is free.

4. Aewol Cafe Street

Aewol Cafe Street in Handam Village is one of Jeju’s cafe-scene highlights. Thanks to the Handam-ro coastal walking path, many of the food spots are connected, so you can wander from one to the next with sea views the whole way. We went to Team Blow, an aesthetic cafe known for its sweeping ocean views, to quench our thirst, and it’s a great spot to unwind between sightseeing or simply enjoy a relaxed afternoon with a beautiful view.

5. Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff

One of our favourite places was the Daepo Jusangjeolli Cliff, a striking rock formation made up of hexagonal basalt columns formed by cooling lava from Mount Halla thousands of years ago. We spent about 30 minutes snapping pictures at the observatory platform and admiring the panoramic views. Since there are a handful of popular photo spots on the platform, crowds and queues are common. There’s an entrance fee of 2,000KRW for adults and 1,000KRW for children and youths; parking is not free.

6. Cheonjeyeon Waterfalls

We visited the Cheonjeyeon Falls, which are actually three separate waterfalls, but do not be confused with Cheonjiyeon Falls in Seogwipo. Their names are similar but differ in ‘je’ and ‘ji’. We spent about 1.5–2 hours leisurely walking around and enjoying the scenic views. Apart from the three waterfalls, there’s a 130-meter-long bridge (Seonim Bridge) and Cheonjeru Pavilion within the area. 

There’s an entrance fee of 2,500KRW for adults and 1,350KRW for youths and children. Operating hours vary based on the season you’re visiting. Do note that there are several stairs, and it might not be wheelchair- or stroller-friendly.

7. O’sulloc Tea Museum & Innisfree Jeju House

An unmissable stop is the Osulloc Tea Museum and Innisfree Jeju House, located within the same compound. The Osulloc Tea Museum draws crowds even on weekdays, thanks to its souvenirs and cafe serving up matcha– and peanut-flavoured desserts. There’s a photobooth on the same level as the cafe too, great for visitors who want a memory to take home. Right behind the Innisfree store, the tea fields make for a popular photo spot – and the store itself is stocked with skincare products perfect for bringing home as gifts (or treating yourself).

8. Snoopy Garden

A must-visit spot in Jeju for any Peanuts comics fan, this theme park features indoor exhibition halls with artistic installations tracing the history of the comics and characters, alongside a sprawling outdoor garden with plenty of photo opportunities. We spent about 4 hours exploring the indoor and outdoor areas; good grief, you’ll never want to leave! 

Admission tickets can be purchased on arrival, either via the kiosk machines or at the counter, priced at 19,000KRW for adults (ages 20 and above), 16,000KRW for youths (ages 14–19), and 13,000KRW for children. Parking is free; no need to worry about extra costs!

9. Mount Hallasan

Mount Hallasan has seven hiking trails, with Seongpanak and Gwaneumsa being the main routes to the summit, and Eorimok and Yeongsil offering beginner-friendly, shorter trails, with no reservations needed. We went for the Seongpanak Trail, a 19.2km round-trip route, taking 7-8 hours to complete. This route is physically demanding due to the increasing steepness and rocky routes. For this trail, it’d require an advanced, mandatory online reservation here – Hallasan Visit Reservation System. Be sure to read up on all the different trails before deciding on which to go for!

Lumphini Park

Want to get closer to nature and the outdoors? Visit Bangkok’s first public park — Lumphini Park. Located near the central business district of Bangkok, this park feels like an oasis where you can slow down, take in some fresh air, and appreciate the city skyline while taking a stroll.

At the same time, the park is home to numerous sights and activities. You can go for a morning run, exercise with some upbeat music in the background, or explore the library in the park. Just make sure to watch your steps as you might run into a monitor lizard or two!

One popular activity at Lumphini Park, however, would have to be renting a Swan Paddle Boat or rowing boat and having a short trip out on the lake. Definitely try this if you want a different park experience.

The Adoptable Puppy Cafe

If you’d like to do something a little more wholesome during your trip to Bangkok, consider attending one of the pop-up events by The Adoptable Puppy Cafe. This social enterprise and dog rescue initiative has helped more than 800 dogs find their forever homes since its start in 2019. 

Their events are usually held at cafes and venues around Bangkok, where you can spend a few hours enjoying some coffee or a meal, and meet adorable dogs at the same time. More than just playing with these pups, all of them will also be up for free adoption.

While only local adoptions are accepted, entry to these events is free, and donations are welcome. So, if you’d like to do something meaningful and support a cause during your trip, keep an eye out for The Adoptable Puppy Cafe’s events. They might just be hosting an event during your vacation to Bangkok.

What to Order

Diners rave about the Clear Tom Yum Soup (MYR58) for its perfect balance of spicy and sour, featuring juicy prawns and squid. Prefer the soup milder or spicier? Just ask, and the staff are more than happy to adjust the spice level to match your tolerance. We also ordered the Crispy Thai Omelette (MYR28) as recommended by the staff, which wasn’t too greasy. To further elevate the crunchy Thai Omelette, we highly suggest dunking it into the Tom Yum Soup for a burst of flavour. One dish that stood out was the tender Stir-fried Beef (MYR88) with addictive yet crispy garlic.

What’s Thai food without the classics? Don’t forget to order the fragrant Pineapple Fried Rice (MYR48), a perfect balance of sweet and savoury, or the Classic Pad Thai (MYR32) packed with bold and tangy flavours. If you’re a seafood lover, a must-try is the Fried Sea Bass with Mixed Herbs and Lemongrass (MYR75), highly recommended for sharing among 3-4 pax and the Crispy Prawns in Tamarind Glaze (MYR48), so delectable that you’ll be reaching for another in seconds.

Two drinks worth trying are the Tom Yum Cooler (MYR12) if you’re feeling adventurous and the Classic Thai milk tea (MYR9) if you want something safer. Plus, it now comes with a dreamy cloud top for all the aesthetic girlies.

Specials of the Month 

Among the four options, we let the server’s recommendation guide us to the deep-fried Soft Shell Crab, and it did not disappoint. Fried to a delicate crisp, the soft shell crab shatters with each bite, revealing tender, sweet crab meat within. A textural delight from start to finish, this was easily our favourite dish from Bottega JB. Being a monthly special, this changes from time to time. So do check the menu when you visit to see what’s currently available!

Cold Platter

Don’t sleep on their Cold Platter selections! Try the affordable Pork-Free Charcuterie (from MYR36) with Beef Salami and Cheeses, or go full cheese mode with the Cheese Board (from MYR36), featuring seven varieties and plenty of room for cheesy jokes. Both come with bread, olives, and dips. 

Salad, Soup & Starter

Wish to sneak some greens in to have a balanced diet? The Parmigiana (MYR35) is an oven-baked Eggplant with Mozzarella, Parmesan Cheese, and Italian Basil in Tomato Sauce. For something lighter to kick-start your appetite, the Botteghina (MYR36) would be a good choice with Hydroponic Leaves, Beetroot, Pumpkin, and White Quinoa all toasted in Truffle Dressing; this vegetarian-friendly starter is a good option! 

Pasta & Mains

From the Pasta and Main Course section, we ordered La Genovese (MYR40), a Candele Pasta with Stewed Beef and a healthy dose of Pecorino Romano Cheese. Another popular item was the Pork Cheek (MYR70), slow-cooked for 36 hours on a bed of creamy yet light Mashed Potato, seasoned to perfection.

We’ll definitely be back to try the fancy Beef Spinacino (MYR98), a delectable plate of Piedmontese Tri-tip Steak, a highly prized cut from the bottom of the sirloin, and the classic Her Carbonara (MYR42) made using Aged Pork Guanciale and Free-Range Egg Yolk.

Desserts

To end off the hearty meal with a bang, we shared the Homemade Tiramisu with Alcohol (MYR32). Another option is the Caprese (MYR30), made out of 70% Dark Chocolate and Dark Rum, paired with a side of Vanilla Ice Cream. If you prefer a non-alcoholic dessert, get the Homemade Tiramisu without Alcohol (MYR30) or the Pannacotta Alla Vaniglia (MYR29), a sweet Vanilla Pannacotta with Vanilla Crumble, drizzled with Forest Berry sauce.

Seats are never in short supply here – but come lunchtime, the crowd of office workers and tourists starts to build.

Weekday Lunch Special

From the Weekday Lunch Special (11am to 3pm), we tried the HKS Ultimate Indomie Chimken (from S$10) and Wet Indomie with Chimken (with S$11). Yes — “Chimken,” it isn’t a typo. The difference between the 2 bowls comes down to the mushiness of the noodles, with the Wet Indomie topped with an Onsen Egg instead of a Fried Egg. We went for spice Levels 1 to 3, and safe to say, things heated up fast. Turns out, playing with fire (or chilli) has consequences. The spice scale runs from Spicy Level Baby (Not Spicy) all the way to Spicy Level 21, not for the faint of heart — and with an additional fee of S$0.50 to S$6 as the heat cranks up.

We skipped the classic Rice Chimken (S$9.50) and signature Ayam Berempah (S$16.68) in favour of the Fried Rice Kampung (S$12.38) – wok-fried rice loaded with boneless chicken, fried egg, shrimp crackers, and a solid kick of chilli by the side. The smashed chicken was coated with the right amount of chilli, so tender and easy to eat – the kind of addictive combination that had us reaching for piece after piece without realising it.

To bring down the heat from all that spice, we had the Fangko Honey Lemon Flower (S$5.50), cooling and refreshing; Kopi Kampung (S$7.20), a perfect caffeine fix; and Matcha Strawberry Latte (S$8.80), with a generous amount of strawberry jam for strawberry lovers. Other unique drinks worth trying are the Avocado Coffee (S$8.80), Fangko Melaka Latte (from S$6.80), and the World Famous Jamaica Rhum (S$7.50).

Raw Fish

Estiatorio Milos knows how to kraken up the seafood game. The menu opens with Fresh Fish and Seafood guided by the restaurant’s own “Captains”, who walk diners through the day’s catch. Don’t miss their Raw Fish selections, including Sashimi (S$36), Tartare (S$42), and Ceviche, featuring Magiatiko, Tuna, Salmon, and Loup de Mer. We started with the Ceviche (S$42), with a slightly sweet flavour that paired well with the Crostini. Simplicity at its finest – the Loup de Mer at Milos lets the fish speak for itself, whether served raw, grilled, or baked whole in sea salt.

Milos Classic

Let’s talk green. Who would’ve thought Zucchini and Eggplant could taste this good? The must-order Milos Special (S$45) is a personal favourite. Lightly fried and paired with Saganaki Cheese and Tzatziki, it’s a perfect dish to pass around the table. This tower of paper-thin crispy vegetable dish is proof that simple ingredients can steal the show. If you would like something a little lighter, the Green Salad (S$32) hits the spot. A fresh mix of Romaine, Dill, Spring Onions, Manouri Cheese, and the signature Milos dressing, it’s ideal for refreshing the palate.

No seafood spread is complete without the Fried Calamari (S$42) — a crowd’s favourite — crispy on the outside and tender within, dangerously addictive, and gone within seconds. But the real star was the Crab Cake (S$45), jam-packed with crab meat. So good it deserves one per person. So do yourself a favour and order your own. Sharing this one? Not a chance.

Meat

Rounding out the menu, if you’re a huge fan of fish, go for the Bigeye Tuna (S$68) or Rouge Label Salmon (S$62). Prefer something meatier? Try the Milk-Fed Baby Lamb Chops (S$88), Filet Mignon (S$88), or 21-Day Dry-Aged Rib-Eye Steak (S$108). We ordered the Filet Mignon, USDA Black Angus Filet served with crispy Greek Fries. Cooked medium, the Filet Mignon had a light sear on the outside with a warm, pink, tender centre – juicy and perfectly balanced.

Estiatorio Milos has a 3-course Lunch Menu, from Monday to Friday for S$68++ (excluding eve of PH & PH) and Saturday and Sunday for S$88++. Both Weekday and Weekend menus also feature an extensive Greek wine list by the glass, along with a lineup of signature cocktails such as the Martini of the Gods, Santorini Sunrise, and Mastiha Espresso Martini — all at S$24 each.
