Cornercove acai cafe lets you “WFH” with customizable bowls, unlimited toppings and no additional costs

by Natalie Lim

Cornercove is an acai cafe that recently opened at Bugis, and it’s the perfect place to chill out or “work from home” at.

Due to the pandemic, there was a ban on working/studying at our favourite coffee spots, leaving many stranded with no alternative places to go, besides retreating to our very mundane offices and homes.

At Cornercove, this problem is solved.

The minimalistic cafe sports a unique design. The usual tables and chairs are swapped for a stair tread concept, where you can choose to either sit on the steps, chill out at a corner, or simply enjoy your cuppa at one of the Japanese-like dining areas.

To top it off, their acai bowls (S$9.80 or S$14.80) are customisable and comes with unlimited toppings—all at a fixed price.

Instead of the standard acai flavour, at Cornercove, you can mix and match a variety of bases. This includes flavours such as Pitaya, Matcha, Tropical Tumeric, Coconut, Strawberry Chocolate Protein, Blue Chia Pudding and Beetroot Chia Pudding.

After choosing your bases, head on to the topping isle, where you’ll be presented with a rich choice of fresh fruits such as strawberries, bananas, dragonfruits, pineapples, apples and papayas.

Other superfood toppings such as espresso powder, coconut flakes, agave nectar and goji berries are also available, which helps to add more of a bite to your smoothie bowl.

Since the toppings are unlimited, you can deck your bowl with whatever your heart desires—only if it doesn’t topple off.

An acai bowl isn’t completed if it isn’t finished off with a drizzle of nut butter, and at Cornercove, their spreads are freshly churned. Whether it’s almond, peanut or cashew butter, you can be sure that they’re served in their purest form.

Apart from the exciting smoothie bowls, Corner cove also serves speciality coffee for caffeine addicts. The Cafe Latte (S$5) is an affordable blend that’s smooth and velvety, while other flavours such as the Beetroot Latte (S$5.80) and Turmeric Latte (S$5.80) are a health boost for workaholics that don’t have spare time for proper meals.

For the health-conscious, the Cold Pressed Juices (S$6.90) will be right up your alley.

Since Cornerstone is smacked right in the CBD area, it makes a good escape location for those that prefer to work outside of their office cubicles.
