Founded in 2023, New Art Museum is located in Tanjong Pagar Distripark. The exhibition runs from 5 April 2025 to 26 July 2025, and is perfect for family outings.

Although it’s designed to be a hit with children, the dynamic range of artwork guarantees that there’s something for everyone.

The exhibit blends art and nature through its five main zones — Canyon of Cuddles, Animal Kingdom, Ancient Aquarium, Garden of Senses, and the Obliteration Room.

From immersive projections to alluring sculptures and sensory experiences, something is sure to catch your eye (or hands).

Check out the AI-generated projections of ancient giant fishes, engage in digital gameplay, or have the time of your life at the art playground. 

Look out for artwork by Osamu Watanabe, who has a talent for turning sweets into captivating sculptures.

At this point, ball pits are a staple in interactive exhibitions, and Wonders of Nature proves that with its (very green) inflatable ball pit.

Go wild at the Obliteration Room, the only place in Singapore where you can vandalise legally. 

There’s even an AR (augmented reality) game where you are plunged into a fantasy world.

Art and food converge at Waga Waga Lab’s latest cafe pop-up, located near the museum’s entrance. Expect to enjoy handcrafted matcha, hojicha coffee and light bites.

Children below seven and adults above sixty can enter for free.

Turns out the exhibition was so successful that the team duo behind it — Exhibition Hub and Fever — has decided to bring another famous spectacle to our shores.

Since Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience has already wowed audiences in Milan, USA, Brussels, and London, it’s time for them to undertake a world tour by venturing into Asia. Singapore has once again received the honour of being the premiere destination — how lucky are we?

You’ll get to traverse 11 distinctive thematic environments, each bursting with colours, lasers, lights and bubbles. Just a heads up — you might be in for a sensory overload.

The adventure kicks off in the LED room, where you’ll dive into an underwater world teeming with sea creatures. Then, get ready to make a splash in the Bubble Ocean. It’s like taking a dip in a sea of bubbles yet you’ll remain dry.

Next, step into the Giant Bubble Dome and get whisked away to a distorted bubbly planet. Inside, you’ll discover the most Instagrammable spot in the city: the Selfie Room. This is where you should grab your cameras and strike your best pose!

Got megalophobia? Tough luck, as you’ll feel like a tiny human in the Bubble Bath Pit, which is basically a bathtub that’s three times bigger.

The hot air balloon flight simulation at the Balloon Getaway also might not be for the faint of heart, especially if you’re afraid of heights. As the exhibition uses 360-degree projection VR technology, you might forget you’re not actually there!

Your illusions will keep rolling in the Infinity Room and Sketch and Post, with the latter even allowing your imaginations to come to life. So, keep the scary thoughts at bay!

What’s a bubble planet exhibition without actually feeling like you’re on a magical bubbly planet, am I right? That’s where the Virtual Reality room comes into play.

I can already see that you’ll be exhausted by the end of the experience (each session takes roughly 60 to 90 minutes). Take a breather by catching a futuristic robot-led show at Soap Bubbles. And before you leave, don’t forget to grab some cool merchandise at the Interactive Shop.

Admission for this family-friendly activity is priced at S$21.90 for adults and S$14.90 for children. If your little one is under the age of four, you’re in luck as they get in absolutely free.

In fact, you can even get yours discounted if you manage to snag up the first 1000 tickets. Tickets go on sale on 31 July at 3pm here, so set your alarms!

After 52 years at the original bird park, Jurong Bird Park has left an indelible mark on most of our childhoods where we might have gotten our first glimpses of parrots and penguins in person. The original premises, which closed on 3 January 2023, saw the resident creatures (more than 3,000 birds from over 400 avian species) migrating over to their new ‘paradise’ at Bird Paradise!

It’s a well-deserved upgrade featuring eight huge walkthrough aviaries and more, built not only for visitors to enjoy but for the resident birds as well – with better environments intentionally designed to mimic the different ecologies and habitats for our precious avian friends.

From the walkthrough aviaries inspired by different habitats across the world from Africa to South America, to a sparkling new penguin cove, a restaurant with great views of a waterfall, and more – here are 14 things you can expect to see at the new Bird Paradise during your visit!

1. Winged Sanctuary

Make your way into Bird Paradise and look out for Winged Sanctuary, a space sharing rare and predatory birds of high conservation value with over 100 species of birds and their exhibits from the Brahminy Starling and Santa Cruz Ground Dove, to Maleo and Philippine Falconet.

2. Penguin Cove

Located right beside the Winged Sanctuary, the new Penguin Cove (one of my favourite stops at the old bird park!) is a cold salt-water habitat designed for our penguins. And not just that, it also features a dining experience with mouthwatering buffet spreads in an underwater environment with the penguins — the Penguin Cove Restaurant.

3. Heart of Africa

Done with the penguins? Step into Heart of Africa next, the largest walk-through aviary simulating the forested valleys of Africa with colourful birds living in towering trees. It also includes a Bee-eater’s Cliff where you can observe bee-eater birds catching insects in the air, as well as cultural elements like Congolese pavilions and a viewing tower that provides a great viewpoint of the African-themed habitat.

4. Wings of Asia

For something a little closer to home, Wings of Asia is a habitat created specifically for Southeast Asian creatures where you’ll find pheasants in the undergrowth and hornbills up in the tree. There are also fun cultural elements like a Balinese-inspired gate, pavilions and water-based sound sculptures to explore and take photos with as well.

5. Crimson Wetlands

Make your way to the third stop at Crimson Wetlands, and here’s where you’ll be enamoured with the strikingly colourful display of Scarlet Ibises and Roseate Spoonbills gliding over “marshy wetlands set against the backdrop of a floating village in South America”. Check out the clay lick wall where gorgeous macaws can be seen feeding as well as a waterfall (a tribute to the original waterfall aviary at Jurong Bird Park), and Crimson Restaurant, a restaurant offering lovely views of the area and waterfall!

6. Amazonian Jewels

Next, head deep into the Amazon jungle at Amazonian Jewels and meet unique bird species like the Amazonian Motmot and Chestnut-eared Aracari while checking out iconic Amazonian rainforest ficus trees, large buttress roots and more.

7. Songs of the Forest

Enjoy a melodious symphony at Songs of the Forest, a walk-through aviary specifically for the singing songbirds of Asia with the Bali Myna, Straw-headed Bulbul and Asian Fairy Bluebirds. Here’s where you’ll find a “peaceful haven with large overhanging leaves and glistening streams inspired by the riverine forests of Southeast Asia”.

8. Mysterious Papua

The fun and discovery continue at Mysterious Papua with Birds of Paradise of New Guinea conducting flamboyant courtship dances. Don’t forget to duck into the longhouse-style bird hideout to observe Papuan birds like the Southern Cassowary, North Papuan King Parrot and Palm Cockatoo up close!

9. Australian Outback

From Mysterious Papua, head down under to the Australian Outback, a dry simulated forest environment that’s home to different species of Lorikeets, endangered Lorikeets and flocks of pigeons. 

10. Lory Loft

Climb suspension bridges inspired by ethnic treehouses in Papua at Lory Loft (an updated version of the original Lory Loft at Jurong Bird Park) and look at the beautiful lories and parrots. Visitors can also offer the birds a nectar cup to entice the birds to come up close “and even to perch on your wrists and shoulders”!

11. Sky Amphitheatre

Missing the old Kings of the Skies and High Flyers presentations at Jurong Bird Park? The Sky Amphitheatre will play host to two new avian presentations — Predators on Wings and Wings of the World — in a familiar yet upgraded format that will feature the amazing talents of the birds alongside their trainers.

12. Feeding sessions

For just S$8 per session, you’ll be able to get up close and personal with new breeds like African Hornbills, Barbets, Pelicans, and Lories from the different zones. It’s also for a good cause, given that all proceeds from animal feedings go towards Mandai Wildlife Group’s conservation projects.

13. Keeper-led experiences

For a more intimate experience, why not embark on a Bird Discovery Tour, where you’ll be able to get the insider scoop on the most charismatic of our feathered friends, or sign up for a Backstage Pass, which gives guests an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look into the Avian Healthcare and Research Centre?

14. Mandai Wildlife West

Serving as the gateway to Bird Paradise and the upcoming Rainforest Wild is Mandai Wildlife West, a public guest area comprising children’s play areas and dining options. Guests will be greeted by a 10m-tall waterfall sculpted after Indonesia’s Madakaripura waterfall — what a way to make an entrance!

Young ones can have a ball of a time at the interactive Pangolin Adventure and Pangolin Hideout play areas, which encourage pangolin-like movements like climbing, borrowing, and sliding. Other spaces like Forest Stream, Epiphytic Cluster, Green Roof, and the Foraging Trail will serve as educational zones for the public to learn about the diverse flora, native wildlife, and various ecosystems. 

If you get peckish after all that enrichment, choose from a variety of eco-friendly retail and F&B options, which include the likes of Luke’s Lobster, Leckerbaer, and Mr Holmes Bakehouse (in a flagship multi-concept store), A&W, Pavilion Banana Leaf, and of course, Birds of Paradise.

Ticketing details

Come 8 May 2023, Bird Paradise will be open daily from 9am–6pm, with single-admission tickets priced at S$48 for adults, S$33 for children (three to 12 years old), and S$20 for senior citizens. However, guests can enjoy a special rate of S$38 for adults, S$23 for children, and S$20 for senior citizens during the soft launch period between 8 to 26 May.

Pre-bookings can be made here from 24 April onwards, so don’t miss out!

Opening on 4 March 2023, Climb@T3 is run by The Rock School (TRS) with guided as well as free-and-easy programmes for all climbers with varying aptitudes. If you’re looking to get in shape after watching Netflix’s Physical 100, then this is a good place to start. 

Fun fact, the walls are provided by the official wall provider for the 2020 and 2024 Olympic Games – so you know it’s legit stuff. The walls also feature 20 different climbing routes of varying difficulty for you to put your primate skills to the test. 

If you’ve ever gone rock climbing, you would know that the belayer plays an important role – it’s the ultimate friendship test because your life is in their hands. But at Climb@T3, each of the wall’s nine lanes are equipped with state-of-the-art auto belay systems. With these systems in place, you and your best mates can climb with a peace of mind – no more letting your trust issues get in the way of your fun. 

If you think you’re the Monkey King, you can choose to scale the 8-metre-high rock wall spanning basements 2 and 3. If heights aren’t your thing, you can opt for the 12-metre-long bouldering wall instead – don’t worry, this wall is only 2.5 metres high so it’s acrophobia-friendly. Prices for a two-hour unguided Climb and Play session start at S$15. 

The family-friendly attraction also has a special Rock Tots programme (S$30) for climbers aged two to six years old. Children four years and older can participate in the one-hour guided Climb & Play programme (S$25). What’s also great is Climb@T3 will also offer classes for those with special needs led by specially-trained pros, though on an ad-hoc basis.

Since 1987, the factory has been giving out free tours to people of all walks of life — children, elderly, schools, organisations, you name it. Now, after a short hiatus due to COVID, the free Yakult factory tours are finally back and we’re pretty excited about it.

There’s just something about these probiotic drinks that are so nostalgic, and there are even different versions of these probiotic drinks that we’ve seen in Korean dramas as well as in Thailand. (We also have foreign friends who’ve moved back home after a stint in Asia, that have told us that one of the things they miss most about what we have here are our probiotic drinks that aren’t easily found where they are!)

We’re pretty blessed to have grown up with this yummy drink and easily purchase them from any supermarket, and even the old-school Yakult aunties who go door-to-door selling Yakult —  more so too, that we have a Yakult factory right on our sunny isle!

As you step into the factory, you will be treated to a complimentary bottle of the yummy cultured milk probiotic drink which we all know and love — then, you’ll embark on the exciting tour.

Slide, scale, or hop around structures resembling fruits and trees, including a giant Cempedak Play Area and Saga tree “pods”. The 5.8-metre tall Banyan Tree Tower features “roots” and “branches” that extend across the area, filled with obstacle courses like climbing ropes, swings, and tube slides for the adventurous.

Adventure Playground at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park

Adventure Playground is one of three playgrounds in the 62-hectare Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park. Decked out in red, blue, and yellow is the main play structure, a “pirate ship” outfitted with slides, climbing poles, and interactive panels.

Watch as your kids attempt to conquer the climbing pyramid and concrete rock wall with tube slides and climbing ropes. As for younger children, they have a dedicated area with swings, a merry-go-round and teeter-totters (mini seesaws) to themselves.

Tiong Bahru Park Playground

If you’re looking for an IG-worthy playground, Tiong Bahru Park is where it’s at. This haven for fans of Thomas the Tank Engine is equipped with a tilting train, flying fox, mini-maze, swings, and a sandpit for sensory play. The quirky tilting train is, of course, the centrepiece. Kids can climb aboard and navigate the locomotive’s carriages with multiple entry points, ramps, and tube slides, making for a topsy-turvy experience unlike any other.

Battleship Playground at Sembawang Park

It’s all hands on deck at the Battleship Playground in Sembawang Park. This majestic maritime-themed playground pays tribute to Sembawang’s naval heritage. Modelled after a warship, the main play structure comes complete with propellers, turrets, an upper deck, and many other interesting elements to explore. Nestled within Jurong Lake Gardens is Forest Ramble, the largest nature playgarden in the heartlands. There are 13 different animal-inspired adventure stations to roam around. For instance, the Snake Play area features a tree-like structure with slides for kids to climb, mimicking a Paradise Tree Snake slithering up a tree.

Leap around the Squirrel Play area, consisting of log seesaws, rope obstacle courses, balancing logs and springboards, and ramps connecting to a wooden structure akin to that of a squirrel’s nest.
