And, it’s no ordinary playground as it’s officially named the world’s largest foam-block playground. World of Blocks, true to its name, invites both kids and adults (because let’s face it, you’re never too old for this!) to dive into a world filled with blocks and unleash their creative side.

World of Blocks is nestled in Pandan Gardens near Jurong East, which might not be the most convenient spot for non-Westies, but trust me — it’s totally worth the trip!

You can look forward to a total of nine play zones: Toddler Zone, Flying Fox, Builders Zone, Block Maze, Trampoline Zone, Mega Air Bubble, Giant Slide Pit, Play Zone, and Foam Truck Obstacle.

Parents with little ones, make a beeline for the Toddler Zone. As the name suggests, this area is designed specifically for children under three, with soft, kid-friendly materials everywhere. Your tots can run, explore, and play freely without you worrying about bumps or bruises.

If your kid (or yourself) has a knack for crafting, the Builders Zone will be a dream come true. Inspired by Minecraft and Roblox, this area invites you to put on your thinking caps and build anything your imagination can conjure. From houses to vehicles, the sky’s the limit!

However, I lack crafty fingers, so you’ll catch me at either the Trampoline Zone or Mega Air Bubble. Here, I can leap, jump, and bounce as high as I can go on large bouncy inflatables. I also missed the thrill of soaring through the air, making the Flying Fox an absolute must-try.

There’s no official dress code, but it’s smart to show up in comfy, covered clothing. Kids will need anti-slip socks for safety, while adults can have a bit more freedom with just regular socks. Forget to bring it along? Socks are sold at the counter for S$3 a pair.

Turns out the exhibition was so successful that the team duo behind it — Exhibition Hub and Fever — has decided to bring another famous spectacle to our shores.

Since Bubble Planet: An Immersive Experience has already wowed audiences in Milan, USA, Brussels, and London, it’s time for them to undertake a world tour by venturing into Asia. Singapore has once again received the honour of being the premiere destination — how lucky are we?

You’ll get to traverse 11 distinctive thematic environments, each bursting with colours, lasers, lights and bubbles. Just a heads up — you might be in for a sensory overload.

The adventure kicks off in the LED room, where you’ll dive into an underwater world teeming with sea creatures. Then, get ready to make a splash in the Bubble Ocean. It’s like taking a dip in a sea of bubbles yet you’ll remain dry.

Next, step into the Giant Bubble Dome and get whisked away to a distorted bubbly planet. Inside, you’ll discover the most Instagrammable spot in the city: the Selfie Room. This is where you should grab your cameras and strike your best pose!

Got megalophobia? Tough luck, as you’ll feel like a tiny human in the Bubble Bath Pit, which is basically a bathtub that’s three times bigger.

The hot air balloon flight simulation at the Balloon Getaway also might not be for the faint of heart, especially if you’re afraid of heights. As the exhibition uses 360-degree projection VR technology, you might forget you’re not actually there!

Your illusions will keep rolling in the Infinity Room and Sketch and Post, with the latter even allowing your imaginations to come to life. So, keep the scary thoughts at bay!

What’s a bubble planet exhibition without actually feeling like you’re on a magical bubbly planet, am I right? That’s where the Virtual Reality room comes into play.

I can already see that you’ll be exhausted by the end of the experience (each session takes roughly 60 to 90 minutes). Take a breather by catching a futuristic robot-led show at Soap Bubbles. And before you leave, don’t forget to grab some cool merchandise at the Interactive Shop.

Admission for this family-friendly activity is priced at S$21.90 for adults and S$14.90 for children. If your little one is under the age of four, you’re in luck as they get in absolutely free.

In fact, you can even get yours discounted if you manage to snag up the first 1000 tickets. Tickets go on sale on 31 July at 3pm here, so set your alarms!

Taking place on 25 and 26 March 2023, the Singapore Cat Festival serves as a gathering point for all things cat-loving and kitty related. Here, you can exchange tips on cat caring and mingle with like-minded cat lovers. Maybe even bring home a new feline friend too. The best part is, admission is free and you can bring your feline friends along too!

Some activities to look forward to at this year’s cat fest is the Art Jamming Workshop by Amber Art Gallery. During the workshop, you will get to pick your favourite cat breed from nine designs – all of which were designed in-house by Digital Artists at Amber Art Gallery. 

You’ll also get to experience making your own trendy colours with the help of a colour mixing guide. If you’re worried about your painting skills (or the lack of it) affecting the final look of artwork, don’t be as the designs are all Paint-By- Number designs which makes it pretty foolproof. If you register for the workshop early here, you’ll get to enjoy the early bird price of S$40 (U.P. S$50). 

Another exciting activity to look forward to is the Cat Toy Making Workshop. The workshop is organised by Animal and Veterinary Services, and specially catered for kids aged five to 12 years old. Apart from taking part in engaging workshops, there will also be over 50 cat products brands on-site for you to trade cat caring tips and tricks with welfare experts. For both the young (and young at heart), why not take a trip down the rabbit hole into a super cute bunny haven? From now until 31 March 2023, the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre is hosting a free-for-all rabbit-themed exhibition on their Rooftop Garden in light of the festivities. 

Here, you’ll be able to surround yourself and pose with some of the most adorable rabbit-inspired art pieces like murals and giant figurines. And they’re not just pretty — but educational as well! As you browse through the exhibit, you’ll be able to learn more about this traditional holiday, as well as the practices and customs that come with it. 

Some examples include whimsical depictions using the figurines of a family of rabbits enjoying a hot pot for their reunion dinner (to many of us, this is the highlight of Lunar New Year, besides the red packets of course!), playing a game of mahjong and so on. 

And that’s not all! There will also be free light shows on selected days from 7.30pm to 8.30pm — 7 January, 14 January, 25 February and 25 March 2023. So mark your calendars if you don’t want to miss out on the spectacular sights!

42. East Coast Park

You can’t go wrong with a good ol’ beach day, and with so many beaches in Singapore, you’ll be thoroughly spoilt for choice. We recommend East Coast Park, which has a dedicated children’s play area and plenty of food options if you’re feeling peckish. After all, there’s nothing like picnicking on the sand while your kids build sandcastles. And if you’d like to bring the family on a little cycling ride along the coast, bicycles are available for rent too!

As you step into the Omni Theatre observatory (where KidsSTOP is housed in the Science Centre), you’ll find yourself wowed by the plethora of interactive exhibits and zones to be explored — and they all comprise abundant learning and bonding opportunities for you and your child. 

From letting your little one unleash their inner palaeontologist at the Dino Pit (one of KidsSTOP’s most popular exhibits!) where they’ll have the time of their lives playing in the sand pit to interacting and learning about live animals like little froggos, there are over 20 exhibits and zones to be discovered and experienced at KidsSTOP. — all of which include science, technology, engineering and mathematical concepts. 

Do note that admission tickets for children and adults differ, and the prices will change according to different slots and sessions, so make sure to plan ahead and book your tickets on the Science Centre’s website before heading down. 

Ticket prices for children begin at S$20, and S$10 for adults during off-peak seasons and sessions.

PS: socks are also required for some of the exhibits and zones, so putting them on just in case is the safest bet!
