And while you’re running from the Demogorgon, don’t sleep on our local legends. Singapore’s original horrors are back to haunt you, blurring the line between fiction and your worst nightmares.

First introduced in 2024, Singapore’s Most Haunted returns with a vengeance in Singapore’s Most Haunted: Build to Horror haunted house, where unsuspecting residents are living on a burial ground for unclaimed bodies. 

Time is your greatest enemy, because all hell is unleashed at the thirteenth hour. Be wary of the shadows as spirits, demons, and forgotten creatures from ancient Japanese folklore surface. Heralded by 13 chimes, the arrival of every new wave of spirits is marked by a ghostly parade in the scare zone, The Realm of Yokai.

For deadly fun, step into The FEARground scare zone, facing chaotic carnies like Madame Marionette and the contorted Bonebreaker. Don’t miss The Death Devil’s game show, Dare or Die Live!, equal parts horror gameshow and deranged feats of fear. 

For entirely new live entertainment, catch the debut of Once Upon a Time… to Die.

Well, not literally. But now, you can take that excitement (and fear) to the next level, and finally start planning for your visit to Southeast Asia’s most iconic scare fest.

This year’s edition will be held across 18 event nights (12 peak and 6 non-peak nights) from 27 September to 2 November, featuring four haunted houses, three scare zones, three live shows, and an all-new immersive speakeasy.

Haunted Houses

In addition to the Sweet Home experience, which will have you attempting to survive a bunch of monsters in a post-apocalyptic world, you can look forward to three other new immersive haunted houses.

Singapore’s Most Haunted: The Killings will see guests step foot into one of Singapore’s most haunted houses, where the restless spirits of countless victims and the malicious souls that kill them await you past eerie stone lions.

Chinese mythology will take centre stage at the three-dimensional Cursed Scrolls: Dynasty of Darkness, as you prepare to face The Scrollmaster, a possessed Qing Dynasty scholar.

The fouth and final haunted house has yet to be revealed but I’m sure it’ll scare your pants off.

Scare Zones

As you traverse the darkness, more frights await in the form of three scare zones:

• Vampire Alley can turn you into a blood-sucking member of the living dead if you don’t dodge the vampires lurking in the shadows.
• The Lost Kampung and its vengeful spirits are ready to spell a chilling fate on trespassers.
• Nether-land lets you rave with the undead to voodoo vibes and beats that are to die for — literally.

Live Shows

There will be three live shows every night:

• Night Terrors promises a spectacle of lights, sound effects and more, so hold your breath as you traverse a haunted haven filled with phantoms of Asian folklore.
• Dark Dreams tells a ‘bedtime’ story of the Dream Reaper, who steals the souls of innocent people.
• Ocu.lar’s Rave, as its name suggests, is a dancing session with giant puppets, hypnotic music and visuals.

Immersive Speakeasy

Up for a hide-and-seek game? If you put your back into finding this new lavish speakeasy owned by the vampiric clan — The Elders, you’ll get to indulge in a selection of deliciously devilish canapés and drinks.

For an add-on price of S$25 for guests on the R.I.P tour or S$35 for regular guests, entry to the Viper Lounge comes with an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink and two canapés.

This is Universal Studios Singapore’s third collaboration with entertainment service Netflix, following the haunted houses based on the popular Korean zombie series All of Us Are Dead and cult-favourite Stranger Things.

The Korean action-horror series, which is based on a popular webtoon, stars Baeksang Art Awards nominee Song Kang, Lee Jin-uk, and Lee Si-young.

The premise? A terrifying apocalyptic world where desire turns monstrous.

The news also comes at the perfect time, given that the third and final season will premiere on 19 July.

So, if you’ve enjoyed being transported into a realm ruled by chaos and mayhem (as a viewer), this is definitely one haunted house to put on the list, because where else will you be able to experience it first hand?

Sweet Home will be brought to life through a haunted house based on some of the series’ most spine-chilling scenes and grotesque monsters from both Season 1 and 2.

Part of the journey will even have visitors retracting the steps of characters through key locations in the Green Home apartment complex, including Cha Hyun-su’s apartment and the basement.

Let’s just say it’s not just your own monstrous desires you’ll be grappling with.

This year, the grounds of Universal Studios Singapore transforms into Hyosan High School where bloodthirsty zombies roam around for fresh blood. If you manage to keep your eyes open, you’ll be able to spot some of the iconic scenes for the series including the super intense classroom right scene which had me gasping for life. 

HHN 11 will also feature five spine-chilling haunted houses, scare zones and so much more — and yes , they are really scary. There is also the collaboration with The Weeknd which features five new rooms inspired by his album Dawn FM. The Weeknd: After hours Til Dawn Nightmare will send you winding through corridors, as you make your escape from the actor-singer’s purgatory of pain.

2. USS Trick or Thrills

If you’re not brave enough for the nightmarish nighttime ghosts and ghouls, maybe USS’ daytime halloween attraction is much more suited for you. USS Trick or Thrills is a family-friendly version of Halloween with your favourite characters like the Minions, Oscar the Grouch, Dracula, Bumblebee and Megatron, and many more all dressed in their funky halloween costumes. 

That’s not all. There will also be live performances from The Candy Crooks and The Lolly Bandits who will be battling it out for sweet treats. Plus, you can indulge in some special halloween sweet treats all over the park. Time to get a sugar rush!

3. Halloween Night Luge: Revenge of Miriam 

If you’ve ever taken the luge, you know just how thrilling it is — and that’s just in the day. Now imagine riding down the track in the dark with ghosts and ghouls lurking in the shrubs waiting to attack. This year, Skyline Luge has teamed up with True Horror Stories POV to deliver an unforgettable, hair raising night of terror. And if you’ve ever seen the content by these guys, you know you’re really in for a wild ride . 

The theme for this year’s Halloween Night Luge is Revenge of Miriam. Who is Mariam? What happened to her? And why does she want revenge? This year’s Rest.In.Peace Centre horror experience is titled “Wandering Spirit” and you will find yourself wandering through the terrifying realms of Asian horror. But while you might lose your voice (and your sanity), you can still stand a chance to win some pretty cool prizes. Simply look out for the secret codes hidden around the space and scan them to unlock your prize.

Haunted Houses

In addition to the All of Us Are Dead experience, which will have you attempting to survive hordes of zombies along the harrowing halls of Hyosan High, you can look forward to four other new immersive haunted houses.

Rebirth of the Matriarch will see guests step foot into the family home where a deadly ritual is being conducted to bring The Matriarch — the titular character from the very first edition of
HHN — back to life.

Chinese mythology will take centre stage at DIYU: Descent into Hell, so be prepared to face King Yama’s judgment and receive punishment for your earthly sins.

Grimm Encounters puts a twisted spin on the Pied Piper, whose sinister tunes have corrupted everyone’s favourite fairy tales. Can you escape his forest of nightmares without being cursed?

As for the fifth and final haunted house, the news broke on 17 August that it’ll be centered around global pop sensation The Weeknd, featuring five new rooms inspired by his album Dawn FM.

It will be called The Weeknd: After Hours Til Dawn Nightmare, and will see you venturing through the winding corridors of the actor-singer’s unnerving night club as you attempt to escape his purgatory of pain. Sounds intriguing.

Scare Zones

As you traverse the darkness, more frights await in the form of three scare zones:

• Dead Man’s Wharf brings visitors face to face with real-life historical figure Madame Dragon, the fearsome, legendary Chinese pirate and her motley crew.
• The Hacker, a destructive A.I. being, reigns supreme over a terrifying cyber hellscape, where
  technology feeds off the desperate souls of mankind.
• The Cursed Kiramam is an Indian village cursed by the gods, whose once prosperous
  inhabitants now exist in a state of perpetual torment. Venture in to see if the villagers can
  escape their impending doom.

Live Shows

There will be two live shows every night:

• Judgement Day is the night’s grand opening Scaremony, so hold your breath and watch as an unfortunate soul tries to escape his final judgement amidst flame and fury.
• The Hacker: Game Over shows how a destructive A.I being invades and corrupts the games of her victims as she tries to hack her way out of the virtual world and into their nightmares.

Special Experience

Think you can stomach even more horrors? Feel free to join King Yama’s Feast in Die-ning in Hell, which will feature three gruesome tortures — fire, blade and blood— served over a scarily sumptuous three-course meal. All the while, diners will be entertained by chilling performances by King Yama’s dreadful demons.

During event nights, Die-ning in Hell will take place at Hollywood China Arcade over three 80-minute sessions: 6pm, 7.45pm or 9.20pm. Halloween Horror Nights 11 admission ticket holders simply need to top up S$128 for the experience.

Taking place on selected nights from 29 September to 4 November 2023, the All of Us Are Dead experience will be brought to life through a haunted house which will take you through the students’ treacherous escape from the zombies in their school. If you thought watching the series was thrilling enough, wait till you’re living through it — that’s a whole other ball game. 

If you successfully keep your eyes open as you meander your way through the haunted house and fend off the pesky zombies, you’ll be able to spot some of the iconic scenes from the show recreated here. Some popular scenes that you can expect to see here include the medical bay scene, the super intense classroom fight scene, and the harrowing escape from the Hyosan High School library.

However, this isn’t USS’ first attempt at bringing a wildly popular Netflix series to live at Halloween Horror Nights. In case you were too busy screaming to notice, back during HHN8, USS turned the entire theme park upside down with their Stranger Things collab which was equally thrilling and just as horrifying. 

Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights 11 will span across 18 selected event nights from 29 September to 4 November 2023. Whether you’re down for a good scare, or if you’d just like to get out of your cave and do something social with friends for a bit – Halloween Horror Nights has always been a fun experience for those of us who enjoy celebrating the spooky season.

While Halloween itself might fall on 31 October, this year’s Halloween Horror Nights will run from 30 September to 5 November 2022. In celebration of the event’s 10th edition this year, there are a total of 19 event nights so you don’t have to worry about missing out.

From haunted houses and scare zones to laser tag, behind-the-scenes tours and a horror dining experience, there’s plenty in store guaranteed to send you spiralling into a creepy heart-thumping panic – in the spirit of the season, of course!

Alternatively, those with kids will also be able to enjoy the daytime family-friendly Halloween event available from 7 September to 5 November 2022. Think a park-wide procession where the family will be able to meet and greet brand new characters.

Part whimsical, part thrilling, and a whole lotta spooky, mark your calendars and get ready for an incredible time coming soon at Halloween Horror Nights. (And there’s no better time like now to start preparing your Halloween costume too!)

As you’ll expect, with the need for social distancing, Universal Studios Singapore (USS) aren’t pushing ahead with their usual haunted houses to scare the lights out of you.

But hang on, Halloween Horror Nights 2021 aren’t completely cancelled. You can still get your dose of Halloween-related spooky fun at USS from now till Nov 7. Guests will instead get to experience the first-ever exhibition on the popular event in this year’s Trick or Thrills 2021.

You can’t replace the adrenaline-pumping runs of previous years but it’s still worth taking a tour through the Halloween Horror Nights Exhibition open from 10 Sep 2021 to 7 Nov 2021. Horror junkies get to revisit their favourite scares such as the twisted clowns and nagas — you’d probably still wet your pants from the memories.

Take a good look at the terrifying props and gruesome installations on display, and get chills sent down your spine reading on the arcane secrets in the behind-the-scenes of the events. The exhibition is not recommended for anyone under the age of 16 and advance booking is required, you can make your reservations .

If you’re not one for Halloween Horror Nights, then head down for trick or treating with the 2021 return of Trail of Treats. Those with tots will find themselves chasing after the Candy Ambassadors for special treats — fret not, they can be found all over the park.

Of course, don’t miss out on the meet and greet with the most loveable characters which include the mischievous Minions dressed in monster costumes.

Those who head down on Friday and Saturday evenings as the rays of the sun are dying down will also run into monsters such as the Wolfman, Dracula, and Frankenstein.

You can find them lurking in the shadows at the Universal Monsters Scream Alley waiting to pounce on any unsuspecting passersby. A nice alternative for Halloween Horror Nights 2021 — you can even try to catch Dracula in a chilling wefie.

To replenish all the blood you’d probably lose from your Dracula encounter, you can head down to KT’s Grill for their Die-ning with the Dead experience every Friday and Saturday, an immersive Halloween-themed course meal that is to die for.
