Toei Animation, the studio behind these iconic series, will be coming to Jewel Changi Airport on 3 October 2026 in the form of the Toei Animation Store Singapore. This new storefront will be a dedicated space for all things Toei Animation, especially official merchandise.

More than just a retail store, Toei Animation Store Singapore will also feature themed displays and interactive experiences. You will not only get to explore products across Toei Animation’s famous franchises but also get to snap pictures at character-themed photo walls.

Fans can also look forward to in-store seasonal activities and programmes specially catered to them. From character celebrations to community activations to limited-edition product releases, the store will be the gathering place for all you otakus.

Another fun experience and one of the store’s key features is a gacha photo-strip machine. For S$3.50 per pull, visitors will walk away with a random, playful collectable featuring fan-favourite characters. Multiple designs will be available.

Toei Animation’s new storefront at Jewel Changi Airport will take the spot previously home to the One Piece-themed store – Mugiwara Store Singapore. Both stores are presented by Omnisekai, a company specialising in bringing manga and anime concepts to life. So, if you enjoyed visiting the Mugiwara Store in the past, you will love what’s coming next to the same location.

National Day Celebrations at the National Museum of Singapore 

Want to appreciate more of our local arts? There will be numerous programmes taking place at the National Museum of Singapore on National Day, too. On 9 August 2026, you can visit the museum to experience interactive storytelling, workshops, live performances, a photography showcase by migrant workers, and more.

This is meant to be a full day of celebrations, culminating in live performances by local acts and a free live telecast of the NDP at the end of the day. The screening will be held on the Museum’s Front Lawn, allowing you to catch the parade under the stars.

These new dishes are inspired by Singapore’s rich food culture and local favourites, while staying true to Tim Ho Wan’s signature flair. A perfect example of this is the new Bak Chor Rice Rolls (S$9.50), showcasing Hong Kong Dim Sum with a Singaporean twist.

Other items on the National Day-themed menu are Laksa Seafood Dumplings (S$7.90 for 3pcs), ‘Orh Nee’ Salted Egg Sesame Ball (S$7.50 for 3pcs), and XO Fried Rice with Bacon & Luncheon Meat (S$13.90). Just reading this is making us crave for Dim Sum.

We dropped by to check out the new space and its tenants, and were treated to some delicious surprises. Keep reading to see our highlights. 

Vendors with Michelin Bib Gourmand

Food Republic at Jewel Changi Airport features four tenants with Michelin Bib Gourmand awards. According to the Michelin Guide, this award is given to restaurants and hawkers that “serve exceptional food at great value”. 

We had the pleasure of tasting all four stalls that have earned this recognition, but our favourite will definitely be Na Na Homemade Curry · Peranakan Cuisine. The 10-year Michelin Bib Gourmand recipient’s Chicken Curry Set served with Rainbow Bread (S$11.90) kept us asking for more.

On first taste, the curry immediately hits — with savoury goodness and spice. The chicken is also tender, easy to debone, and flavourful. Usually, such chicken curry sets are served with white bread or rice. But the unique Rainbow Bread that comes with this particular set pairs surprisingly well with the curry. It is the perfect balance of soft and crispy, and comes in bite-sized pieces too.

Other Michelin-approved dishes include Shui Kueh from Jian Bo Shui Kueh (S$4 for 5pcs, S$6 for 8pcs), Steamed Grouper with Thai Sour Chilli (S$16.90) from MP Thai, and LiXin’s Signature Noodle (Dry, S$8.90) from LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles. If any of those appeals to you, check them out for yourself when you’re there!

Local and global flavours

Another dish we greatly enjoyed was the House Special Four Treasures Claypot Rice (S$12.80) from Ai Shan Claypot. The stall might not have won a Michelin Bib Gourmand award, but they have definitely won our hearts and taste buds. 

When the claypot first arrived, we were too busy taking photos of the food at our table and forgot one important step in eating claypot rice — stirring and mixing. By the time we lifted the lid and were ready to dig in, we were expecting the rice to be stuck at the bottom and completely burnt.

However, that was totally not the case at all. The rice was relatively easy to “scrape” off the bottom and was perfectly cooked, having a consistent, crispy crust. It was also still moist, thanks to sauces that were added into the pot. 

The taste of this dish also matched its look and feel. If you noticed, the claypot rice comes with half a salted egg, which we decided to mix into the rice as we stirred it. This added another layer to the already taste-packed dish, filling our mouths with flavour with every bite.

Ai Shan Claypot actually hails from Hong Kong, so its opening here at Food Republic marks its debut in Singapore. What a deliciously strong start.

After all the rich and hearty food, you would definitely be looking for something sweet. And there are plenty of options here at Food Republic at Jewel. The highlight for us would be White Chendol (S$5) from Dessert Heaven. You can expect common chendol toppings like red bean, sago pearls, attap seeds, and gula melaka.

However, white jelly replaces the usual green jelly, giving this version of the beloved dessert a unique aesthetic. We found the White Chendol to be just sweet enough without being overwhelming. 

The drinks stall, Toast Today, also serves a unique Singapore Slushie (S$4.50 for Small, S$5 for Large). If you’d like a refreshing thirst quencher that answers the question, “What if the Singapore Sling cocktail was non-alcoholic?”, this is for you. Every sip comes with distinct notes of pineapple, lime, cherry and grenadine. 

A recreation of 1970s street dining

Beyond the food and drinks, the reopening of Food Republic at Jewel also introduced a refreshed space that transports you back to the 1970s of Singapore. At every corner of the 500-seater food atrium, you will find neat details and realistic props that harken back to an era when communal street dining was commonplace. 

Recreations of hand-drawn signs, pushcarts, stray cats, street vendors and more will immerse you in a part of our local history that is as iconic as the food it produced. Spot the numerous photo spots throughout the entire space and snap some pictures for memories! Those who grew up during the 1960s and 1970s will surely find this nostalgic.

Special deals & collectables

If you’re planning to visit this new Food Republic, we recommend doing so in July. To celebrate its opening, the food atrium will be hosting special promotions and activities for diners. For instance, on every Friday in July, from 10am onwards, diners can purchase a cup of Hot Kopi or Teh at just S$0.70. Only the first 100 cups purchased each day will be eligible for this promotion.

From now till 31 July 2026, spending a minimum of S$18 in up to two combined receipts will also allow you to redeem a limited-edition postcard. These postcards come in a retro design inspired by the rich heritage of our local streets and can be posted directly from Food Republic at Jewel to anywhere in the world.

Diners will also be able to redeem a stamp, a scent tag, and a S$2 voucher along with their postcard. After 31 July 2026, the postcards can be purchased at S$1 each without the other collectables.

Designed to surprise and delight both local customers in Singapore and global Pokémon fans, the newly transformed Pokémon Center offers a uniquely contextualised retail experience, inviting guests to discover something new and experience joy with every visit. 

The Evolution of Pokémon Center Singapore 

The grand reopening represents a significant milestone in deepening connections with both local customers and global Pokémon fans, fostering an even broader love for Pokémon. 

Front view 

As previously revealed, the Legendary Pokémon, Solgaleo, recognisable by its majestic, sun-like mane, serves as the store’s new symbol Pokémon. Featured on the official logo and standing proudly at the store’s façade alongside Pikachu, Solgaleo’s introduction has been met with warm anticipation from Pokémon fans both locally and internationally. 

Interior 

Furthermore, the full splendour of the store’s new interior is now ready to be unveiled. Drawing inspiration from Singapore’s unique culture and heritage, the revitalised space features beautifully designed shelves and interior elements that pay tribute to traditional architecture and design.

Merchandise

In celebration of this milestone, a series of commemorative merchandise has been specially designed for Pokémon Center Singapore, featuring a total of 20 unique products released across two distinct waves. 

First Wave

The first wave on 1 July 2026 will introduce 12 curated lifestyle items, including products featuring beautiful original artwork of Pokémon in a Singapore-inspired cityscape and a Kopi Cup & Saucer Set. 

Second Wave

The excitement continues with a second wave of merchandise scheduled to launch on 7 August 2026. It will introduce stylish pouches featuring a Peranakan-inspired Pokémon pattern on the inner lining, Pokémon graphic T-shirts, and a tote bag with Pikachu and Solgaleo embroidery.

A Facelift to Reflect Singapore

Did you know? Pokémon Center SINGAPORE’s renewal works since 1 April 2026 mark the first full-scale renovation of a Pokémon Center outside of Japan. And the result is a reimagined store that captures Singapore’s unique heritage.

The first thing visitors will notice when approaching the new storefront is legendary Pokémon, Solgaleo, welcoming them with a majestic aura. Solgaleo is the new symbol for Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, very fitting for a country nicknamed the Lion City.

Beyond the facade, the interiors of Pokémon Center SINGAPORE will also feature elements that will feel familiar to Singaporeans. There will definitely be multiple photo opportunities to find as you explore and shop in the upgraded space. 

New Commemorative Merchandise

“Is that Pikachu with a durian?!” Yes, and we love it. To celebrate the reopening of Pokémon Center SINGAPORE, a series of Special Edition merchandise will be released. Many of these products will feature Pokémon alongside iconic Singaporean landscapes and items. 

There will be 20 new products in total, with 12 going on sale at the grand reopening. The remaining merchandise will be launched at a later date in August.

Visitor Information

As you would expect, there will be a lot of fans who will want to get their hands on these new goodies the moment they drop. Many would also be interested to check out the new event space in the store, where future video game and trading card game (TCG) events will be held. 

To manage the crowd and demand, Pokémon Center SINGAPORE will be implementing advanced reservations and same-day queue entry tickets for the first five days of the grand reopening. 

To gain admission to the store, you will need to submit a Store Visit Application online or get a same-day queue entry ticket on-site. More details about the former will be shared by Pokémon Singapore on their Instagram page, while the latter will be distributed daily from 8.30am, on a first-come, first-served basis.

You’ve probably heard of Tiffany and Co.’s signature Blue Box Cafe or Vivienne Westwood’s bar restaurant in Shanghai, China. But I found out that there’s another high-end brand that entered the food and beverages (F&B) industry recently. 

It’s none other than the Coach Restaurant, bracing its presence within Singapore. Located at Jewel Changi Airport, just next to the Coach retail outlet, is the brand’s first-ever flagship restaurant. 

Once you enter the restaurant, the chic interior will give off the impression that you’re in the heart of New York City (NYC). It’s complete with cosy leather nooks, wall decorations based on NYC pop culture, and even an iconic full-sized yellow taxi that looms over you while you’re dining in. 

What immediately stands out is the elegant tableware—think leather coasters, stitched menu covers, and a polished layout that reflects the same attention to detail Coach is known for. The words “The Coach Restaurant” can be found embossed in the menu covers, giving a nod to the brand’s craftsmanship and collections.

Other than the pretty interior, guests also get to dine with an even more luxurious view of the Rain Vortex. If the seats by the Rain Vortex are already occupied, take a seat by the open woodfire kitchen to get a close-up look at the chefs and their work. 

Speaking of culinary geniuses, the former head chef Kurt Sombrero, from Burnt Ends and Meatsmith Little India, is the mastermind behind the creative twist of steakhouse classics and embodies the brand’s signature feel. 

Some steakhouse classics that caught my eye were the  Caviar-topped Black and White Bagel (S$18) and Crab Cakes (S$30). The bagel mimics the classic black and white New York City cookies, while the crab cakes bring a familiar coastal flavour with a touch of Old Bay seasoning.

More classic options are the USDA Prime Cuts Rib-Eye 250g (S$90) and Japanese Satsuma Wagyu A5 Striploin (S$95), each served with roasted garlic and pats of creamy, thick butter shaped in the iconic Coach signature ‘C’. 

If you’re not a big fan of steaks, there are also other seafood and poultry options such as the Dover Sole (S$130) with citrus caper brown butter, lemon thyme roasted chicken and Maine Lobster (S$95) seared over open flames, finished with black pepper hollandaise. 

Dessert lovers with a sweet tooth are in for a treat—the 20-Layer Chocolate Cake (S$18), Flaming PB&J Bombe Baked Alaska (S$18), S’mores (S$12) and more.

What’s a steakhouse without the alcohol experience? You’ll be spoilt for choice, especially with over 90 bottles of all-American wine, from the most affordable Sauvignon Blanc (S$110) to the most prestigious choice of Cabernet Sauvignon (S$18,000). 

Lucky for all, the restaurant is open daily, from 11.30am to 10pm. Perfect for a birthday celebration with loved ones or an intimate night with your partner.  Or better yet, treat yourself to a solo date with this luxurious experience.

2. Changi Airport Movie Theatres

At Changi Airport, the drama doesn’t stop at the runway. The script is rewritten (literally) at Changi Airport Movie Theatres which you know the drill — comes free of charge.

Transform your transit time into a trip to the movies at Terminal 3. 

There’s something for everyone, with heart-pounding action films and fun family films to choose from. The film selection’s lineup rotates seasonally, so you’re guaranteed fresh options no matter when you visit.

Currently, classics like Tom Jerry and fan-favourites like Elemental, Godzilla x Kong, and Spider-Man: Far from Home are showing.

Screenings are available 24 hours everyday as well, but do note that every Thursday at 11am to 4pm, the theatres are closed for maintenance.

3. Chandelier

After a movie or two, it’s time to let the kids (and the young at heart) take the lead.

Where? At the Chandelier, a 16m-tall play structure.

It’s a stunning sculpture and a playground in one, featuring sliding poles and a climbing net to run, jump, and climb to your heart’s content.

Just make sure to meet the entry requirements like wearing your shoes at all times and emptying your pockets before you jump into the action.

4. Butterfly Garden 

Our beloved sunny island is affectionately known as the Garden City, which means there’s no shortage of greenery here at Changi Airport too.

At the world’s first butterfly garden in an airport, your heart will flutter as you encounter over 1,000 tropical butterflies from about 40 species across different seasons of the year amidst lush greenery and a 6m grotto waterfall.

Educational corners and individual enclosures are also sprinkled around the space to let you get up close on the breeding and feeding of butterflies.

5. Jewel Rain Vortex Light & Music Showcase

We can’t boast about Changi Airport without mentioning Jewel Changi Airport’s ever iconic heart — the Jewel Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. 

Marvel at how water cascades down seven storeys whilst you hang around Jewel, and if you stay till it’s dark, you can even catch the Trip.com Light & Music Showcase. 

Sit back and relax at any one of the vantage points surrounding the Jewel Rain Vortex to enjoy the show.

Layovers don’t have to mean sitting around to pass time. You can turn wait time into wellness hour at Fit&Fun Zone.

This wellness zone features five colourful zones. This includes Pink Zone’s Lumi-weights, where you can work up a sweat using pull-down levers ranging from two to eight kilos each.

Get yourself moving at the Beat Bouncers at Yellow Zone, where you can bounce to tunes in the trampoline pods.

Meanwhile, the Spar Pods at Orange Zone is exactly what it sounds like, letting you strike gloves-free if you’ve been meaning to get out any pent-up energy.

A clue for what the Tangle Tunnel at Blue Zone is about — it’s a rope maze which is found within a nature inspired, organically shaped cave.

And finally, the perfect way to end your energetic workout is with a peaceful moment at the Pendulum Chairs at Green Zone.

7. Dreamscape

If you haven’t tire of flora and fauna, this last one’s for you.

What’s better than good old nature? Dreamscape, an immersive indoor garden where nature and technology combine.

Step into a space where 20,000 plants from over 100 species reside. They are found amongst 18 evergreen structures, including two special plants where are the Pesuderanthemum “splash” and the Begonia blancii.

The heart of this garden lies glass panels which “float” above the pond, allowing you to channel your inner “waterbender” as you can feel like you’re walking on water. 

The soundtrack to your visit is a symphony of more than 100 unique creatures. And if you look up, the digital sky reflects the real-time weather conditions built from meteorological data specific to Changi. 

On top of that, the digital sky treats you to an immersive light and sound show of its own, playing throughout the day at 15-minute intervals.

From now till August 2025, not one, but two Shonen Jump pop-ups are coming to Singapore, with one already underway. 

Here’s everything you need to know about what to expect. 

First up, Books Kinokuniya Singapore’s Ngee Ann City branch is currently having a Shonen Jump pop-up for a limited time only.

Whether you’re planning to join Team 7 or you’ve been cursed with a love for Gojo, there’s something for everyone at the pop-up.

Fans are practically spoilt for choice, as you’ll be stuck browsing through fan-favourite series must-haves for hours. These include Naruto, One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, Haikyuu, Spy x Family, Demon Slayer, Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Chainsaw Man.

For avid fans, the merchandise available is also extremely extensive. You’ll be delighted by the acrylic character standees, postcards, A4 plastic folders, pin badges, posters, blind pack trinkets, and more lining the shelves.

Unfortunately, no exact date has been given for when the pop-up will end, so if I were you, I’d Naruto run my way there before it’s too late!

But don’t hang up your headbands just yet! Your merch hunt is only just beginning. Another Shonen Jump pop-up is landing in Singapore too, and it’s happening sooner than you think.

Over at Jewel Changi Airport, the Shonen Jump pop-up is just as, if not even more exciting than Kinokuniya’s.

That’s because the official manga magazine Shonen Jump is launching the Pop Up! Jump Characters Store in the beloved mall. 

This particular pop-up is extra special, as the Jump Characters Store is the official online shop for Shonen Jump merchandise. 

On top of that, this is the first time Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha is opening a brick-and-mortar Jump Characters Store here in Southeast Asia. 

So yes, this is the real deal which you don’t want to miss.

If you thought that Kinokuniya’s pop-up was wide enough in terms of its range in titles, the Pop Up! Jump Characters Store takes things to the next level. 

Fans can celebrate a rotating lineup of Shonen Jump-themed goods like collectibles, accessories, and clothing. Exclusive merchandise like limited-edition shirts, tote bags, and novelty goods with the characters are available too.

The good news is that while this pop-up store has yet to launch, it’s set to open from 10 May 2025 to 31 August 2025.

So rest assured that you have more than enough time to explore the store.

Get ready to grab your Joy-Cons, for the Nintendo POP-UP STORE is finally returning to Jewel Changi Airport.

Following its debut last year in Southeast Asia, the Nintendo POP-UP STORE is back for the second time.

As the only location outside Japan, the pop-up is bringing its A-game. 

If you’re a fan of Super Mario, Animal Crossing, Zelda, Splatoon, Pikmin, and more, you’re practically a winner. Of the 500 items the pop-up will be selling, over 150 new and exclusive merchandise from these games will be offered.

These select products include the PIKMIN Badges. They may look tiny, but they are mighty and the perfect way to show off your favourites to fellow Pikmin enthusiasts.

Another item to look out for is the Nintendo Croquis book, a must-have for artists.

Another limited-edition collectible at the pop-up store is the Nintendo Statue series, featuring iconic characters like Mario, Link, Pikmin, and more.

The fun doesn’t stop there. It’s a dream come true for Mario Kart players, with various Mario Kart-themed installations in Jewel Changi Airport. Yes, even the iconic Rainbow Road is on display, so snap away at this stunning centerpiece!

The real showstopper though, is the Mario Kart Jewel Circuit Challenge! Running for the same period as the Nintendo POP-UP STORE, you’ll be hunting for six uniquely designed tokens to complete a stamp rally.

The prize? An exclusive Mario Kart sticker pack, blind box style. 

Gachopon addicts, unfortunately (or fortunately), your obsession will be fueled by the pop-up’s Sure-win Gachapon. From 25 April 2025 to 6 July 2025, win attractive prizes at the Gachapon machines near Jewel’s Level 1 Concierge. 

To try the gachapon machines, spend a minimum of S$80 at participating stores. Mastercard users can get a bonus token too. If you’re not keen on that, then just purchase a token for S$6 via the Changi App.

The Nintendo Pop-up’s finishing move is the Nintendo Photo Challenge. No exact dates for when this will happen have been given. The good news though is that you can gear yourself up for the challenge as details on how to participate have been provided. 

All you have to do is share photos of the Forest Valley’s Mario Kart installations on social media and follow Jewel’s account to redeem a free Gachapon token.
