I did a quick search to determine if it was near the office so we could head there for lunch. Since it was a short walk from the office, we decided to head there directly.

Stepping into the restaurant made me feel like I was on a vacation, perhaps because it is nestled in Boat Quay, where panoramic views just amplify the holiday vibes more.

We scrambled to browse the menu as we were all ravenous. I was most excited to order the CB Platter (S$158) and the 5 Pcs Daddy Moo Ping (S$15.80) as I’m a huge fan of seafood and skewers. 

The CB Platter consists of five pieces of Slipper Lobsters, 10 pieces of Vannamei (white leg shrimp), half a kilogram of Korean LaLa clams, and signature vermicelli. 

Just look at how luscious and plump the prawn and crustacean is. A huge seafood addict like me cannot possibly not have this.

The vermicelli was a huge hit amongst my colleagues as the burst of fried garlic, spices, pork lard and the sauce-soaked vermicelli danced on our tongues. Each bite revealed layers of umami and depths of flavours we’ve never had before. 

I particularly enjoyed pairing the moist vermicelli with clams. I kid you not, the natural aroma of the mollusc paired with the flavourful noodles sent me into another realm.

If you’re into skewers like I am, definitely try out their Moo Ping, which are Thai grilled pork skewers. I’ve had a decent amount of Moo Ping in my life, but this has to be one of the best ones I’ve ever had. It was savoury, smoky, with a sweet, caramelised taste lingering on the tip of my tongue. I knew it was something I would go back to the restaurant for eventually.

The Traditional Seafood Tom Yum Soup (S$16.80) was light and refreshing on the palate. And as someone with low-spice tolerance, Tom Yum soup is something I try to avoid for fear of the spice overpowering my tastebuds. The one at Shrimp Prawn Seafood is piquant and hits differently.

We also tried their newest fish dish, which we won’t reveal the name of, so you can head down to check it out yourself! As you all might know about my ill-fate with anything that has to do with fishbones, I was really worried about laying my chopsticks on this dish. 

I took a step back and observed my colleagues digging into the fish. They didn’t seem to be struggling with the fish, and that’s when I gained the confidence to dig into it. 

As much as fishbones get lodged in my throat easily, I can’t seem to give up on this type of  seafood. And I am glad that I didn’t let my fear stop me from tasting this amazing dish. The meat was tender, the skin was crispy and flavourful as it took in the sauce like a sponge, and had no fishy taste.
