Landing at ION Orchard from 8 May for a limited-time pop-up, Cheese Wonder arrives with serious buzz. Back in Japan, the brand is known for being highly limited and has built a near cult-like following, with its signature cheese cakes selling out within minutes. It’s not just hype due to the lack of it—this is a dessert concept rooted in precision, quality, and a quietly confident kind of indulgence.

At the heart of it all is their namesake creation: the Cheese Wonder cake. These petite, cube-shaped treats are non-baked, with layers of cream cheese fillings (souffle and mousse) carefully piped into an almond cookie crust. Each piece is frozen at peak freshness, then enjoyed frozen, slightly thawed, or at room temperature. They look almost too pretty to eat—clean lines, delicate layers, a quiet kind of elegance.

For the Singapore pop-up, fans can look forward to a curated lineup of their bestsellers. The signature no-bake cheesecakes will be available in two variations: a four-piece set in a thermal bag ($35.90), or a six-piece set presented in a gift box ($53.90). 

There’s also the Wonder Sand ($35.90 for eight pieces), an artsy wavy cookie filled with buttercream and cream cheese—equal parts crisp and creamy. If strawberries are your weakness, keep an eye out for the seasonal Cheese Wonder Red ($42.90 for four pieces). A whole Japanese strawberry wrapped in a fluffy strawberry-infused cheese mousse and topped with a light cheese souffle layer, a classic pairing of fruit and cheese in an elegant bite.

Beyond the flavors, what makes Cheese Wonder especially compelling is the philosophy behind it. Guided by the theme of “GRAZE EXPERIMENTS”, the brand went a step further than sourcing premium ingredients—they chose to produce them. The milk used in their cheesecakes comes from free-range dairy farming, while the eggs are from free-range chickens. In a thoughtful twist, the chickens there are fed with leftover cake and cookie crumbs from confectionery production, creating a full-circle ecosystem that enhances the quality of the eggs. Through this cycle between cows and soil, pastures and poultry, and farms and confectionery, Cheese Wonder has built a quietly sustainable model that reflects both care and craft.

Quantities will be limited daily, so those planning to try it might want to head down early. If Japan’s sell-out streak is anything to go by, hesitation may come at a cost.

What is the Lyrid Meteor Shower?

The Lyrid meteor shower is an annual celestial event that takes place as Earth passes through a trail of debris left by the Comet Thatcher. It’s known to have radiant meteors and to leave occasional bright flashes called a fireball. 

How to get the best views of the Meteor Shower

For optimal viewing in Singapore, the showers are said to peak on 22 April 2026 and 23 April 2026 after 11pm. For the best chance of spotting them, stay away from city lights and other forms of light pollution, and find a dark area with a clear view of the sky. Just in case you aren’t sure, we’ve compiled a few places to watch the meteor shower.

Changi Beach Park

Located near the edge of Singapore, Changi Beach is largely unaffected by the city lights and is a prime area for stargazing. The spacious beach and empty fields make a comfortable spot to settle for the night. Along with the cool seaside breeze, it’s one of our top spots for the best viewing experience.

East Coast Park 

East Coast Park is another area commonly frequented by casual stargazers. Its more accessible location makes it a popular choice; however, there is slightly more light pollution with the LED lamps placed along every road. If you do choose to stargaze there, we recommend finding a darker and more secluded area, such as the beach, for a better chance of spotting the meteor shower.

Labrador Nature Reserve

Labrador Nature Reserve offers lovely panoramic views of the sea and gets very dark at night, making it a suitable place to stargaze. However, it doesn’t have expansive fields and beaches like Changi Beach or East Coast Park. Rather, you may have to settle on a bench along its trail or boardwalk, or on the concrete floor of the Berlayer Shade. Whatever it is, the beautiful, tranquil views and clear view of the night sky will definitely make it worth the trouble.

Punggol 

Punggol has been a prime area for stargazing due to its low light pollution, and it even has its own astronomy club! Recommended viewing spots there include the Lorong Haulus Wetland, Sunrise Bridge in Punggol Waterway Park, and the Punggol Point Observation Deck in Punggol Point Park.

Upper Seletar Reservoir

One of the more scenic spots to go stargazing, Upper Seletar Reservoir offers a breathtaking view from a field near its lookout tower. The serene spot is located near the water’s edge, so you can gaze out into an expansive open space and sky. Speaking of time, the upcoming VE/LA in Changi Airport will be the brand’s first 24-hour café, fitting of its location.

Positioned at the intersection between Terminal 1 and Jewel, the space allows both travelers and local visitors to access the café without the need for departure.

Menu

The Singapore menu will follow a streamlined selection of items featured in VE/LA’s London branch, comprising signature speciality coffee, matcha, and craft tea. From our research, signatures we can most likely expect in Singapore include the VE/LA Airecano, Cloudy Matcha, and Kaimook Latte.

Alongside these staples, the Singapore branch will also introduce a Singapore-exclusive tea—the Kaya Toast Latte. Inspired by Singapore’s beloved classic breakfast, the drink mixes familiar local flavours with VE/LA’s aesthetic gradients. 

Of course, with every good cup of coffee comes a light bite. While the official line-up of bites has not been announced, items available in most VE/LA branches consist of: Cookie Bites, Mille Crepe Boxes, Cake Boxes, and an iconic Banana Bread. 

With coffee sourced locally in Thailand and farms around the world, Thai-grown teas harvested from acclaimed organic tea farmers in Northern Thailand, and exclusively crafted matcha from Mie, Japan—a new kind of roast is set to make waves in Singapore in the months to come.

Situated opposite Bulgogi Syo—in collaboration with Chef Jung from Culinary Class Wars—another celebrity chef makes an appearance at Bibim Deli. Founded by Chef Min Yo Han, the chef brings over 1000 side dishes to Singapore, allowing you to create your own bibimbap.

Similar to Mala, the price of your meal will be determined by its weight. Pick out Chef Min’s side dishes however you like, and your bowl will be charged at S$3.88 per 100g. 

We first started with the store’s complimentary 150g of rice, and followed the queue like a buffet. Out of the 30 side dishes, we chose: stir-fried fishcakes, onion beef bulgogi, soy sauce dakgalbi, pickled cucumber, long green beans (both of which were featured on Culinary Wars), and a runny soy sauce egg. 

If you’re feeling a little too full for rice, noodles like Japchae and Jjappaghetti are also available to choose from. However, these noodles are not complimentary like the rice, so keep in mind that they will be included in your final bowl weigh-in. 

Apart from side dishes like greens, eggs, and meat, you’ll also find iconic Korean bunsik (snack food) items. Highlight items include kimmari (fried seaweed rolls), fried dumplings, tteokbokki, and more stir-fried goodness. 

Once you’re ready to complete your meal, head over to the counter to weigh your bowl, and guess the weight of your dish; because from now till 28 June 2026, if you guess the weight of your bowl correctly (+/- 5 grams), you’ll enjoy it for free!

Top up Bibim Deli’s seaweed soup to go with your bowl for S$2.88, or get a drink and bowl of soup for S$4.28. 

Upon trying our bibim-bowls, we could tell that it would be a huge hit among locals and tourists visiting Suntec City! Carrying a distinct hearty flavour, Chef Min’s side dishes resembled the vibe of comforting cai png dishes. 

Bibim Deli also provides takeaway boxes at the price of S$3.88 per 100g, for you to share the eatery’s famous dishes at home too. 

At the corner of the restaurant, a range of authentic Korean food merchandise and ingredients sourced directly from Chef Min’s specialised network yearns to be taken home. To start, Bibim Deli will be carrying the thoughtful snacks from Chef Min’s brand Dosigotgan, crafted with premium, natural ingredients and a lot of love.

Bellygom Goes Local 

Bellygom and friends have landed in Singapore for the first time at Changi Airport! The popular South Korean pink bear, Bellygom, known for surprising people and spreading joy, brings a delightful Singapore-inspired experience until 3 May 2026.

At Terminal 3’s Departure Hall, a gigantic seven-metre tall inflatable Bellygom takes centre stage, setting the scene for the festivities. Passion is Volcanic: Desire in Southeast Asian Art 

The National Gallery Singapore is pushing the boundaries of artistic expression in Asia with its first-ever R18 exhibition. The provocative exhibition aims to challenge the way we view subjects like desire and intimacy—reframing them as lived experiences rather than a taboo. 

The exhibit titled Passion is Volcanic: Desire in Southeast Asian Art, explores how desire and sexuality have been represented in art in Southeast Asian societies. It brings together over 70 works from across periods, regions, and cultures, featuring a diverse media of paintings, sculptures, and photography.

Tickets are priced at S$5 for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, and S$8 for other nationalities. The age requirement is 18 and above, and valid identification is required for entry. Blooming Imagination chocolate installation

This might just be the closest we’ve come to bringing the world of Willy Wonka to reality. The largest chocolate art installation is now at Paragon, designed by local chocolatier and chef-artist Janice Wong.

The record-breaking installation features three chocolate tunnels, each adorned with vibrant chocolate flower pieces, hanging gardens, chocolate lollipops, and other decorative themes. Marvel at the intricacies of the designs, and even more impressively, the structural integrity of these candy sculptures. UNIQLO x ACM UTme! Collection

As one of Singapore’s staple apparel brands, UNIQLO is making art accessible to the masses with its latest collaboration with the Asian Civilisation Museum (ACM). This collaboration is part of the ACM’s upcoming Crossing Cultures festival, a programme series offering a weekend full of workshops, showcases, promotions, and more. 

The pop-up, located in the museum’s lobby, showcases five exclusive T-shirt designs (S$29.90 for adult sizes, S$19.90 for kid sizes) created in collaboration with local artists Knuckles & Notch, Gabriel De Souza, SONG, HAFI, and Nikkei. PolandSHIOK! is back for its 10th edition starting this weekend. Running from 12 April 2026 to 20 May 2026, look forward to a month-long lineup of music, film, food and cultural experiences across Singapore.

Highlight activities include a performance by globally acclaimed countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, the interactive Chopin vs AI concert, a Polish Food Weekend, European Film Festival screenings, and a multicultural closing concert at the Singapore Botanic Gardens.

While most PolandSHIOK! programmes are free and open to the public, selected ticketed performances are also available. The closing Botanic Gardens concert in particular, will be a family-friendly and pet-friendly open-air experience, making it a family date idea to keep in mind in the weekends to come.

Bellygom and friends have landed in Singapore for the first time at Changi Airport! The popular South Korean pink bear, Bellygom, known for surprising people and spreading joy, brings a delightful Singapore-inspired experience until 3 May 2026.

At Terminal 3’s Departure Hall, a gigantic seven-metre tall inflatable Bellygom takes centre stage, setting the scene for the festivities.
