Although you previously could only get takeout, you can now enjoy meals in the chic space with friends and family. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow for natural lighting while tasteful decoration creates an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

At night, the lighting is dimmed for a more vibey lounge feel — perfect for setting the mood to socialise over drinks. 

Their dine-in menu now includes Sichuan tapas and mains ideal for communal dining.

As a spice lover myself, I have my eyes on the Sichuan Spiced Mouthwatering Spicy Chicken (S$13.80), and Mala Delight Mapo Tofu Tapas (S$6.80). 

Of course, Chengdu Bowl also offers fiery flavours other than the usual “mala”, like pickled chilli, sour and spicy, and barbecue flavours such as Spicy Barbecued Dried Tofu (S$9.80). 

If you’re interested in trying the grain bowls that propelled this business from its humble beginnings to its current popularity, the Tender Pork Belly with Meicai Bowl (from S$13.80) is not to be missed. Just thinking about the tender, fatty, and melt-in-mouth meat is getting me all excited!

You will be spoilt for choice, with beef bowls like the Signature Stir-Fried Ox Tongue Bowl (from S$13.80) and the Peppery Punch Black Pork Bowl (from S$13.80) which packs a hot and peppery punch.  There are even seafood and vegetarian options for all to indulge in.

Noodle bowls are also a great option for hungry diners, with tantalising choices like the Tangy Sour and Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($13.80) and Sichuan Dan Dan Noodle Delight (S$12.80).

How about sitting down to a spectacular fire show with Chengdu Bowl’s hot pot — Flaming Beer Roasted Duck (S$42.80)? The simmering pot is doused with a can of beer before being lit with flaming Chinese wine, imparting an exquisite smoky aroma into the succulent duck meat. 

You can also go for crowd favourites such as the Classic Spicy Chilli Chicken with Fried Dough (S$18.80) or Classic Spicy Assorted Skewers ($19.80) which is served in either red chilli oil or green pepper sauce.

Feeling overwhelmed from all the spice? Tame it with unique earthenware cocktails that look like they are plucked straight from a Chinese period drama! The Martial Dream (from S$22.80) will keep you cool with the combination of gin, sweet and sour plum and zesty notes of lemon.

Personally, I’d go for the Enchanted Wulin World (S$26.80), comprising yuzu-infused honey with gin and grapefruit.

In the mood for some heat? Head down to Tanjong Pagar to sweat all your troubles away with a spicy bowl!
