On 4 April, the news broke that nightlife businesses were permitted to fully reopen from 19 April, as part of Singapore’s easing of COVID-19 measures. As someone who made her way across the border for karaoke, I was eager to hear about the reopening of karaoke establishments.

The homegrown karaoke chain has been hit hard over the last two years, resulting in the closure of several outlets. They even resorted to opening up rooms for studying, working, and livestreaming. Things were no longer the same — until now.

Karaoke is back in session

Take your pick from the following room sizes:

• Small Room: S$12/hour during happy hours, S$18/hour during peak hours
• Medium Room: S$14/hour during happy hours S$20/hour during peak hours
• Large Room: S$16/hour during happy hours, S$24/hour during peak hours

Do note that prices are not inclusive of 7% GST and packages. Only fully vaccinated guests will be allowed on the premises.

Jio your friends to sing K at the J Cube, Causeway Point, The Star Vista, or Suntec City outlets. It’s a lot more convenient for west-siders (for now), but if you’ve been waiting for two years, there’s no doubt you’ll be willing to travel across the island for karaoke.

An efficient online booking system will be rolled out very soon, so keep a lookout for more updates on their socials.

We can go for karaoke, followed by a round of drinks after 10.30pm — it feels like we’ve gone back to pre-COVID times. I can hardly wait.
