Run by a Singaporean with Taiwanese heritage and his Chinese-Korean wife, NiuNiu Tea & DuDu Rice, a former home-based business, specialises in hearty Taiwanese dishes and Korean street food prepared using family recipes.

The stall’s signature lu rou fan, or Braised Pork Rice (S$4.70), is a must-try. Think aromatic and umami braised pork belly on rice served alongside greens and a braised egg — it’s a dish that will easily tide you through the week.

Another comforting staple worth trying is the Taiwanese Mee Sua with Shredded Chicken & Oyster (S$4.70), that’s best enjoyed with black vinegar and minced garlic. Let’s hope the stall doesn’t run out on a rainy day.

Fried chicken is synonymous with Taiwanese cuisine, and the Taiwanese Crispy Chicken Cutlet (S$4.30), tossed in a peppery five-spice seasoning, is juicy and moreish.

You can also opt for the more substantial Taiwanese Chicken Cutlet Rice (S$5.50) or Taiwanese Chicken Popcorn Rice (S$5.50).

Although the selection of Korean street snacks is a lot smaller, the sweet and spicy QQ Cheesy Tteokbokki (S$3.30) is a reliable crowd favourite.

Kimbap and Jumeokbap are also available for pre-order — keep a lookout on their socials if you’re keen!

Last but not least, pick and choose from a selection of oden (S$1.50 for 3 pieces) at NiuNiu Tea & Dudu Rice’s very own Oden Bar, which includes the likes of Assorted Eomuk (Korean fish cakes), Daikon, and Konjac dunked into either mala or original broth.

Drop by for a taste of these homely Taiwanese and Korean eats before the queues get a little too crazy.
