<p>From a small home-based business to a takeaway kiosk in Lavender, and now a fully-fledged cafe in <strong>Bugis</strong>, <strong>Two Bake Boys </strong>has certainly come a long way. Run by former aviation industry professionals Kitty and Phillip, this family-friendly cafe specialises in Thai-inspired desserts and some of the <em>best </em>crepe cakes on the market.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08287-scaled.jpg" alt=""/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>The cafe is situated within the premises of <strong>Rest Hotel Bugis</strong>, an ideal location for a pit stop on a sweltering (or rainy, in my case) afternoon. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08282-scaled.jpg" alt=""/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>There are no tiny, cramped tables in sight at this 20-seater cafe with al fresco seating. Rattan chairs and light wood elements give off a chill &#8220;resort&#8221; vibe you&#8217;ll want to bask in for hours. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08279-scaled.jpg" alt=""/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>My eyes were instantly drawn to the array of flavours at the gelato counter, ranging from<strong> Hokkaido Milk (S$4.90 per scoop)</strong> to <strong>Matcha Adzuki Red Bean (S$4.90 per scoop)</strong>. </p>

<p>But first, the savoury stuff.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-savoury-snacks">Savoury snacks</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08318-scaled.jpg" alt=""/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Although <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/thai-fusion-shakes-sweet-mak-mak/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">desserts </a>are the cafe&#8217;s strong suit, you can choose from a modest selection of appetisers including <strong>Truffle Fries (S$9)</strong> with Thai sweet chilli or sriracha, <strong>Chicken Satays (S$10)</strong>, and plant-based <strong>Chicken Nuggets (S$9)</strong>. They&#8217;re best washed down with a ice cold <strong>Suntory Beer (S$12)</strong>, of course. </p>

<p>At present, due to the manpower crunch, pasta dishes like the <strong>Squid Ink Tiger Prawn (S$18)</strong> and vegetarian-friendly <strong>Truffle Green Curry (S$16) </strong>are only available on weekends. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08325-scaled.jpg" alt=""/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Inspired by the meals served on Business Class flights is the aptly named <strong>Business Class Breakfast (S$18)</strong>. I happily tucked into this hearty plate of scrambled eggs, German pork sausage, mushrooms, salad with sesame dressing, and toasted brioche &#8212; it&#8217;s the kind of homely and unpretentious fare I love. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-crepe-cakes-croffles">Crepe cakes &amp; croffles</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/275376242_497391798710680_9142077116039979969_n.jpg" alt="crepe cakes"/><figcaption>Photo: Two Bake Boys</figcaption></figure>

<p>Two Bake Boys&#8217; homemade crepe cakes are the real stars of the show. You can purchase slices, whole cakes, or even DIY boxes for your next birthday celebration. With flavours like <strong>Lychee Rose (S$9 per slice)</strong>, <strong>Thai Green Tea ($7.40 per slice)</strong>, and <strong>Cookies &amp; Cream (S$8 per slice)</strong>, there&#8217;s something for everyone. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08289-scaled.jpg" alt="crepe cakes"/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>I wish I could try <em>everything</em>, but let&#8217;s save that for another time. </p>

<p>When in doubt, one should always go for the tried-and-tested. In this case, it is their signature <strong>Thai Tea Crepe Cake (S$7.40)</strong>, served with a creamy Thai milk tea sauce for that perfect IG-worthy drizzle. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08298-scaled.jpg" alt="crepe cakes"/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>The tea-infused crepes are painstakingly layered with fluffy fresh cream, yielding an end result that cuts like butter; it is a delicate thing of beauty. And best of all, their crepes cake are generally light and not too sweet. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08311-scaled.jpg" alt=""/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>Given how the croffle craze has taken over Thailand and South Korea, is Singapore next on the list? Perhaps.</p>

<p>I chose to top the <strong>Croffle Krub (S$8)</strong> with a scoop of <strong>Thai Tea Gelato (S$4.90)</strong>. It was equal parts chewy and flaky, with a buttery syrup-glazed exterior &#8212; the stuff of dreams. It would be a crime <em>not </em>to order this. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/DSC08306-1-scaled.jpg" alt="crepe cakes"/><figcaption>Photo by Confirm Good</figcaption></figure>

<p>There are grand plans to expand the menu (think house pour wines and savoury croffles), but for now, the current offerings at Two Bake Boys can definitely hold their own. Cafe hopping in Bugis, anyone?</p>
