The sister brand to Hakka-style yong tau foo chain Meixi’s Kitchen, Dou Yong Tau Foo, has five different outlets scattered around the island, so you won’t have to travel too far for your YTF fix!

The best part? Four out of the five outlets are open 24 hours.

Diners must purchase a minimum of six items (from S$4.80), inclusive of five pieces of YTF and one serving of rice or noodles.

Take your pick from the extensive buffet-style selection of fresh ingredients, which include the likes of vegetables, stuffed chillies, beancurd, and fish paste, all priced at S$0.80 each (a la carte).

You can opt to enjoy your yong tau foo dry (ask for the ingredients to be deep-fried), with lashings of sweet sauce and chilli, or in a comforting soup.

Most tend to go for the signature Laksa (S$5.80), which boasts a rich, aromatic, and mildly spicy broth. Otherwise, the fiery Mala (S$5.80) and Tom Yum (S$5.80) renditions are equally tantalising.

Out of the five locations, the Tampines outlet is the only one that doesn’t operate round the clock, so you’re better off heading to Ang Mo Kio, Jurong West, Woodlands, or Bukit Panjang for late-night (or early-morning) YTF.
