That’s right, after the death of Adobe Flash in 2021, our favourite retro games are finally making a comeback through Neopets, the virtual pet website where many were addicted to exploring the virtual world of Neopia, playing games and caring for their digital pets.

Under new leadership and creative freedom, The Neopets Team (TNT) announced recently that they will be bringing the site back to its “glory days”. As promised, on 25 July 2023, more than 50 retro games were revived on the site through the use of Ruffle, a Flash emulator. 

You can find classic games such as Meerca Chase II, Snowmuncher, Hasee Bounce, Kass Basher and Ice Cream Machine.

I absolutely cannot wait to try these games out again here and relieve my childhood memories. I may have lost my old Neopets account, but I probably haven’t lost my skills.

You may be wondering where Keyquest and Habitarium are. The team is reintroducing the gamemodes in the new social-life simulation game, World of Neopets, in which you can live your Neopian life from the perspective of a Neopet. It is currently still in development, but there is no doubt the team is determined to deliver only the best.
