Jeju Island: Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival

The island on which the K-Drama When Life Gives You Tangerines is based, Jeju Island, is now an island of light pink cherry blossoms. At its annual Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival, the event stretches across Jeonnong-ro, the entrance to Jeju National University, and Jangjeon-ri, Aewol-eup.

Start your journey at Jeonnong-ro, a famous cherry blossom street that has nurtured a stunning tunnel of century-old royal cherry blossom trees. As the path continues, the entrance to Jeju National University greets you with more cherry trees that drape the pavements to enjoy the falling petals.

The last stop, Jangjeon-ri, is a beautiful village where not only tourists visit, but locals visiting just to witness Jeju’s spring. The Jangjeon-ri Cherry Blossom Road, especially, is what takes sightseers’ breaths away during day and night. 

Additionally, various booths are lined up on this street, comprising performances, hands-on activities, and flea markets under the dancing cherry blossoms. 

Busan: Namcheon-dong Cherry Blossom Street

Namcheon-dong is one of the representative cherry blossom streets in Busan, with the Namcheon-dong Cherry Blossom Street as a popular landmark among tourists. But on the street from Samick Beach Apartment to Gwangalli Beach, is a hidden lane to enjoy just as many cherry blossoms. 

If you’re looking to avoid the tourist crowd, then this street connecting Samick Beach Apartment to Gwangalli Beach is the place to be. However, do be considerate of the apartment residents during your visit! 

Another famous park known as a sanctuary for migrating birds, Samnak Eco Park consists of various wildflower gardens, bicycle paths, walking trails, and auto campgrounds. During the spring, more than 3000 cherry trees planted along the Nakdonggang Riverside form a natural flower tunnel, making it an unforgettable walk in the park.

Samnak Eco Park is also the largest among Nakdonggang River’s four riverside parks, stretching up to 7km (meaning just as many cherry blossoms)! 

Daegu: Ayang Gicha Trail

Visit the railroad bridging history and modern charm at the Ayang Gicha Trail. Once an old railroad trail, the road has now become a vibrant tourist attraction. Cultivating a landscape of vibrant cherry blossoms adorning its bridge, this view is sure to capture the hearts of both nature lovers and photographers. 

As you stroll along its natural path, discover its observatory offering panoramic views, engaging exhibitions, and a charming cafe. After taking in the view, nearby department stores, restaurants, and attractions like Shinsegae, Seomun Market, and the Ayang Art Centre await!

Daejeon: Daecheongho Cherry Blossom Road 

A scenic road spanning a whopping 26.6km, Daecheongho Cherry Blossom Road borders Daecheong Lake in Dajeon. This blossom road is also known as one of the area’s longest cherry blossom trails.

Offering a dense shade of cherry trees and picturesque lake views, Daecheongho Cherry Blossom Road spans from Dong-gu (Daejeon) towards Hoenam-myeon (Boeun-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do), wrapping around Daecheongho Lake.

A cherry blossom festival in Daejeon will also take place on 4 April 2026 at the Currency Museum in Yuseong District, Daejeon. The festival will feature a variety of hands-on programs, including face painting, balloon art, and magic performances. 

A flea market will also be held from 1pm to 4pm on the day of the event, offering secondhand items such as clothing and toys. 

Incheon: Incheon Grand Park 

Incheon Grand Park is the most family-friendly and the only large-scale natural green park in the region. Lined with countless 40-year-old King Cherries over the distance of 1.5km, the park is already blushing! 

Bring a blanket for a picnic at the park, and enjoy gazing at the blooming petals with your loved ones. Cherry blossoms in the Incheon Grand Park are also lined along its connecting street with Mansu-dong, along Jangsucheon Stream which is also dotted with forsythias during the cherry blossom season.

Seoul: Yeouido Hangang Park

Situated as the heart of Seoul’s downtown, Yeouido Hangang Park is easily accessible to view the cherry blossoms, and be part of the celebrations. 

The Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival in particular—features over 1600 cherry blossom trees, street performances, and night illuminations—offering a free and scenic experience along the Han River. 

Apart from viewing the cherry trees, be sure to try Yeouido Hangang Park’s different facilities, including rentable bicycles, picnic areas, food trucks, and more. 

Gwangju: Sajik Park

An eminent cultural site, Sajik Park, is established as a favourite rest area for Gwangju citizens. Landscaped with various trees and flower beds, the park blooms pink and white with cherry blossoms every mid-April. 

Nestled in the heart of Gwangju, the Sajik Park Observatory is another hidden gem that promises an unforgettable view. One of the only areas to get a panoramic view of Gwangju, this observatory offers a vantage point to capture the city, and serve as a safe haven from the hustle as you soak in the scenery.

Ulsan: Gunggeorang Park 

In the smallest metropolitan city of South Korea, Gunggeorang Park prides itself on being the representative cherry blossom festival attraction in Ulsan. 

Gunggeorang is actually a past byname of Mugeocheon River, dating back many ages ago, as it combines Gung (a river bend shaped like a bow) and Georang (a Gyeongsang-do dialect term for a stream or downtown)—thus gaining a park named after its iconic nickname. 

With about 400 cherry trees on the 2.5km cherry blossom street along Mugeocheon River, Gunggeorang Park presents the Gunggeorang Cherry Blossom Festival every year. Highlight activities from this event typically comprise concerts, walkathons, food markets, and prize drawings.

Gyeongju: Bomunho Lake 

Unlike other cities or towns where cherry trees are only found in certain areas, cherry blossoms are everywhere in Gyeongju. Combining lush trees reflected in the waters of Bomunho Lake, the view is indescribably peaceful. 

Built on the site of an old fortress in Myeonghwalsan Mountain, Bomunho Lake is a man-made lake. Containing many leisure facilities and parks around the lake, this body of water has earned its popularity among bikers and walkers.

Along the lake, a long walking trail accompanied by dense cherry trees becomes a hotspot in April. While cherry blossoms bloom, the park transforms into a pink snow field, magically bringing a smile to anyone who walks on it.

Along the lake shore, Bomun Open Air Stage hosts traditional Korean music performances every day from April to January, with free performances at that! 

Gangneung: Gyeongpoho Lake

Gyeongpoho Lake is one of Gangneung’s most iconic destinations, especially when cherry blossoms are in full bloom. During the spring, the Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Festival brings a season of fun and community under the dancing trees.

Throughout the festival, stroll along scenic trails lined with cherry blossom trees, admire Gyeongpoho Lake’s illumination during the night, and enjoy a series of hands-on experiences. On-site programs include, a flea market, and a local singing contest, making spring warmer than ever.

1. Practice Skincare

At Confirm Good (CG), we trade post-work gossip and pantry hangouts for game nights instead (and yes, we can get extremely competitive). From Uno, Snakes & Ladders to Monopoly, we’ve played it all. 

But lately, one person’s been dominating the leaderboard—meet our newest intern, Selina. No matter the game, she always finds a way to win. 

This week’s challenge involves a local card game called Master Sinseh, where players become Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) physicians. 

Across the five rounds, they’ll navigate through Herb, Patient, Book, and Special cards to heal as many patients as possible. They’ll need to rack up on gratitude points and earn the ultimate title of Master Sinseh. 

Nicole’s Perspective 

Nicole isn’t the biggest fan of card games; usually, she’d rather sit them out. But with too few players that day, she was roped into joining the fun (or chaos!). 

Before the first round even began, the team spent nearly 20 minutes explaining the rules. What makes it funnier is that this is everyone’s first time playing the game, so the lesson quickly devolved into a bunch of headless chickens trying to figure things out. 

Still, Nicole decided to just enjoy herself and not stress about winning. But by round two, she was already lost. She couldn’t tell one herb from another, and when Keith—our resident TCM enthusiast— stepped in to help, things went downhill fast. 

Let’s just say three of Nicole’s poor patients didn’t make it. 

Keith’s Perspective 

Keith was practically glowing due to her obsession with TCM herbs. In fact, she won’t stop claiming that TCM remedies were more effective than any Western prescription.

Imagine being bedridden and delirious from the third wrist fracture operation of the year. All you can think about is your mother’s aromatic, Briyani rice. However, the only food available is the stale, “healthy” food from the hospital.

Although most people may not find the hospital menu appealing, it is fuelled by foods that promote rapid recovery and are high in lean protein, fibre, and carbohydrates.

What are lean protein, fibre and carbohydrates? Think of toast with scrambled eggs and avocado or muesli topped with almond nuts. These are exemplary diets that use one stone to kill two birds: they are both dangerously delicious and boost quick recovery as well. 

The best part is that most of these recipes are affordable and simple to complete within the comforts of your home. 

Perhaps that Briyani rice may need to take a backseat, especially when you’ll need your wrist to continue working hard.

2. Exercises

Surviving from a wrist injury is child’s play for our beloved colleague. He was looking for a true challenge, which led him to hurt his left knee’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Unlike his wrist injury, his eating habits were sadly insufficient for a speedy recovery. 

Instead, weekly visits to the physiotherapist were the mainstay of his post-surgery recovery regimen. The key isn’t throwing yourself into a 21km marathon immediately. 

Simple exercises like standing and sitting in a chair or strengthening your quadriceps muscles are a good place to start. When you’re ready, you can advance to straight leg raises and ankle pumps. 

Monitor your progress and pace yourself if certain exercises cause unnecessary strain to your body. Eventually, you will start to feel like Hercules again! 

3. Supplements

After going through four major surgeries, you’d think our colleague would’ve learnt his painful lesson. Well, you thought wrong! He ended up hurting his right knee’s ACL too. 

Even though he was accustomed to the multiple surgeries and already knew the drill on recovery, it was still a tedious, troublesome and painful process for him.

He had to sacrifice his Briyani cravings and focus on physio and mobility exercises instead — which honestly felt more like torture than therapy. But even after all that effort, the pain from both old and new injuries still refused to go away.

Every little movement made his joints ache terribly, and when it rained? The aching intensified and became worse. His past injuries made his joints extremely sensitive to sudden changes in temperature — he literally could predict the weather based on how much his knees hurt.

Tired of being reliant on painkillers, he decided to give the supplements gifted to him by his loved ones a shot.

The post No one can beat our sole survivor, who conquered against 14 surgeries and injuries, all thanks to quick exercises, effective supplements, and more appeared first on Confirm Good.

Subsequently, my reasons for revisiting were solely to celebrate my family’s milestones — new marriages, new careers, and many more, to the point I’ve lost count.

Despite this, my impression of the restaurant remains unmemorable. Perhaps my palate isn’t accustomed to the idea of Malay-Western fusion cuisine, or I might have just unconsciously tied this restaurant to my history with my lost love. 

Regardless of this, I embarked on a journey to the Malayan Council with a colleague who is also a fan.

We were both skeptical as we were already accustomed to the current menu, such as Smoked Duck Lemak Chilli Padi (S$34) and Asam Pedas Seafood Aglio Olio (S$32). The moment we sat down, we were given a separate menu which consisted of new menu items that we had never seen before.

The server gave us her recommendations, and we ordered the Pan Seared Ocean Cod (S$49), XO Ribeye Steak Fried Rice (S$39), Boxing Mango Chicken (S$21) and Ondeh-Ondeh Cake (S$11.50).

Starting with the mains, we have the Pan Seared Ocean Cod and XO Ribeye Steak Fried Rice. Surprisingly, the fish was pricier than the beef, even though the latter is classified as a premium form of meat. 

Naturally, I tasted the XO Ribeye Steak Fried Rice first since I was fearful of the piscine taste in the fish dish. The instant saltiness from the fried rice hit me, along with the ribeye beef juices oozing all over, leaving a tantalising flavour in my mouth. 

When the Pan Seared Ocean Cod was served, I hesitantly tried it for fear of the briny taste hitting me. The moment my colleague and I took a bite of the fish, we were completely blown away by its softness. What made it even better was the slightly sour and spicy sauce, as it further amplified the tastiness of the fish. 

Both dishes were devoured in seconds, and momentarily, we both lost track of time. Out of the two choices, my favourite was the Pan Seared Ocean Cod, even though I have a strong preference for beef, and am deeply afraid of the fishy odour.

From the cooking method to the plating of the fish, the Pan Seared Ocean Cod took me out of this world and exceeded my expectations for fish-based dishes. What sealed the deal for me was how there was not an absolute hint of piscine or fishiness taste to it. 

As for the XO Ribeye Steak Fried Rice, it could have won over the Cod if it were spicier and had more beef. 

Moving on, we tried the Boxing Mango Chicken as our snack. 

The Mango Boxing Chicken was bizarre to me, simply because I’m not the biggest fan of fruits, and I feel strongly about mixing fruits with savoury food because it leaves me feeling conflicted, as it is neither healthy nor sinful. Except, it seems I’m mistaken yet again. 

At first sight, the perfectly seasoned chicken glistened with cubes of mangoes, cucumber, and onions, making it irresistible and tempting. As soon as I tried a piece, the flavours were shockingly integrated by the burst of sweetness oozing from the mango cubes, and accompanied by the spiciness from the chicken. The overall blend of flavours moulded into a new, more complex flavour that I could not comprehend; all I could recall feeling was this overwhelming sense of amazement. 

By the time I had my third piece, the Mango Boxing Chicken had already finished. It was a shame that there were only six pieces, and I was itching to order seconds.

To end off our meal, we had to have the Ondeh-Ondeh cake, which is the signature dessert of Malayan Council. While it may not be a new menu item, it is known to all customers that the Ondeh-Ondeh cake is the cherry on top of their meal. You might agree with me that the Malayan Council experience feels unfinished without the Ondeh-Ondeh cake. 

Between the Bussorah Street and Esplanade outlets, consistency in the cake’s texture, flavour, coconut flakes toppings, and gula melaka drizzle leaves me in awe every time. Every bite offers layers of textures that leave me craving for the next.

In hindsight, this has completely changed my perspective on Malayan Council. Since my convocation ceremony is next week,  I’d definitely be back with my family and friends to celebrate.

While I wouldn’t go so far as to prance around as a self-proclaimed coffee guru, I did my due diligence by asking some of my colleagues about their favourite coffee drinks – doing my best, of course, not to judge their choices. 

Kenangan Coffee

Ash: I am not a coffee guy, but in my previous company, my friends would queue up for Kenangan Coffee as they really like it. I tried the Caramel Latte (S$4.90), but it wasn’t my cup of tea.

I enjoyed the caramel taste; however, I was confused because it also tasted bitter at the same time. Sometimes life is a bit bitter, and having a coffee might make it better, but not in my case.

Jae’s thoughts: Kenangan Coffee is my favourite chain that I used to frequent whenever I was in Jakarta, Indonesia. However, not liking coffee is a criminal offence, and using a Caramel Latte as the basis for your favourite coffee is not a valid stand. It’s all caramel and inadequate coffee. 

Jae’s Ratings: 3/10 

Starbucks Singapore

Jess: The coffee I enjoy the most is Starbucks’ Toffee Nut Latte. I’m not someone who usually likes drinks that are too sweet, but this one is something I’m addicted to.

It’s comforting, with a bittersweet balance, and the aroma is simply delicious. Just one sip instantly feels like Christmas — my favourite season — and because it’s only available during the holidays, it makes it all the more coveted.

Jae’s Thoughts: My personal preference for Starbucks is their signature macchiatos or just a regular latte espresso. But Jess’s choice — a seasonal drink that undeniably beats the Pumpkin Spice Latte — is a choice I fully support.

Jae’s Ratings: 7/10 

NTUC Fairprice

Yan: It’s not a coffee place, but this G7 3-in-1 Vietnamese Coffee is my favourite. I went on a volunteering trip in Vietnam when I was 15 and brought some home and got my dad hooked. He’s been drinking this ever since (Goodbye, Nescafé!). 

I also prefer my coffee sweet, so this is right up my alley, and Vietnamese coffee in general has this fragrant, nutty aroma, which I love. It’s so thick and milky. I usually make it with about 3 quarter of water so it stays thick.

Jae’s Thoughts: I grew up drinking packaged Nescafé, and personally, the only coffee I enjoy from my overseas trips is Coffee Tree Penang White Coffee – Coffee with Creamer (S$6.62). 

But if Yan’s father loves it, and I can’t physically argue with an uncle, then perhaps this might be an option I would give a try. 

Jae’s Ratings: 6/10, for the heartwarming story

Luckin Coffee 

Angelin: I don’t really drink coffee, and I can’t decide which drink to share, so I’ll share both of my favourite drinks from Luckin Coffee — Jasmine Cloud Latte (S$6.80) and Oat Milk Latte (S$4.50).  

I like the Jasmine Cloud Latte because of the fragrant Jasmine tea. Meanwhile, the Oat Milk Latte has a rich espresso paired with silky oat milk, giving a nutty aroma, light sweetness, and a smooth finish without the heaviness of dairy. Plus, both drinks are dairy-free as well. 

Jae’s Thoughts: I’m the opposite of Angelin; there’s already a clash of opinions here, especially when I dislike Jasmine tea.

However, I believe coffee should be all-inclusive, and it is difficult to find good coffee choices that are suitable for lactose-intolerant people. Plus, Luckin Coffee is more affordable than Starbucks and Kenangan Coffee.

Jae’s Ratings: 5/10 

Overall, the team has a good taste of coffee choices. Just typing this article itself makes me thirsty, and I’m lucky enough to have grabbed McDonald’s free coffee earlier.

People also love embodying their personalities in their fashion sense, hobbies, and even in workspaces. I relate to this especially when I mindfully try to incorporate my identity as my horoscope sign, an Aquarius, by dressing in quirky, colourful accessories to stand out from the crowd.  

Currently, there is an ongoing trend where people are trying out their MBTI makeup type to improve their overall looks or explore a new makeup approach that may complement their features better. Most of the TikTok videos I came across really do wonders for the person’s overall look. 

Both my colleague and I tried it out, but with a twist by doing our own individual MBTI type make-up, and then swapping our make-up styles to see if there were differences. 

Let’s see if our colleagues at Confirm Good can tell who is the extrovert or the introvert, based on the makeup styles, and if they can guess our MBTI types. 

MBTI Type #1

MBTI type one is a bolder, louder make-up style where it focuses on sharpening one’s features. 

We used a Cezanne eyeliner to create the sharp, winged eyeliner effect, highlighting the shape of our eyes. Then, we outlined our lips using Silky Girl’s lip liner to give a fuller, plumper look. 

Finally, to complete the entire look, we had a mix of Clio and 3CE’s eyeshadow and blended it across our eyelids for the subtle glitter, bronze look.

Raphael: This looks better on Glace than Jae. Overall, I prefer this type of makeup approach because the cheeks look more flushed. It also makes the overall face appear brighter as compared to the MBTI Type #2. 

MBTI Type: ENTJ

Ash: This make-up style looks better for Glace, she looks glowier, and the colour of her lips adds life to her overall facial appearance.

MBTI Type: ESFJ

Yi Tong: Jae suits bold and loud make-up, especially since her hairstyle is unconventional by nature. The style itself enhances, and gives Jae an entirely different look than her usual daily appearance. 

MBTI Type: ENFJ

Letresa: Both Glace and Jae look better with the thicker makeup look, because it enhances their features more. The confident, bold makeup style leans more towards ESTJ, as people with this MBTI exude confidence through their decisions and remain coolheaded during stressful times. 

MBTI Type: ESTJ

MBTI Type #2

MBTI type two is a softer, Korean-inspired makeup that revitalises the clean girl aesthetics. 

To achieve this look, we had to apply the Peripera blush more intensely by dabbing it across our face, nearer to our midface groove, nose, and chin. 

Then, we fill our lips with Amuse’s lip tint for a long-lasting colour and Peripera’s lip gloss for the shine. Lastly, we completed the look by applying a thin coat of Judydoll’s mascara on our eyelashes. 

Yi Tong: This look suits Glace more because it highlights her features in a soft manner, which complements her personality. Plus, she’s gentle and introverted as a person, so this makes more sense than the previous makeup style. 

MBTI Type: INFJ

Ash: This look suits Jae better than Glace, as it has a subtle look. Furthermore, her hair already has a lot of personality, which clashes with the previous makeup approach. In my opinion, this works better because it’s on a lighter side and gives Jae a balanced appearance.

MBTI Type: ESFJ

The Verdict? 

Out of four colleagues, everyone was able to differentiate who was the extrovert or introvert, except Raphael (better luck next time). 

In terms of accurately guessing the right MBTI type, only Yi Tong got it right (good job!) To be fair, there are 16 personality traits to choose from, so the odds were one out of eight.

If you thought I am an ENFJ and Glace is an INFJ, then your answer is correct! 

We were pleasantly surprised that we did not look better with our own MBTI type makeup. Instead, our features were enhanced after we swapped MBTI makeup styles. 

Of course, there are external factors to consider, such as facial structure, skin tone, and hair colour, especially with my Calico hairstyle.

At the end of the day, regardless of your MBTI personality type, what matters most is a makeup style that makes you feel truly comfortable.

Now, grab some popcorn because one of the greatest modern anime series, Chainsaw Man, has officially launched its first movie, Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc, in Singapore’s cinemas on 25 September 2025. 

For movie junkies who are not caught up with the lore of the show, don’t worry! 

This article is curated specially by me, an anime connoisseur, to cover the overview of what Chainsaw Man is, who they are, and what you need to know before you watch the movie. 

*There will be mentions of anime/manga spoilers in the article, so be careful!

Chainsaw Man is set in a world where humans coexist with other supernatural beings — devils, fiends and hybrids, contracts, devil hunters, primal fears, and so on. 

Devils are created from humans’ fear, such as fire, curse, dolls, and more. Most importantly, devils get stronger when more humans fear them, especially Gun Devil, who is perceived as one of the most dangerous devils within the series. 

Fiends and hybrids are combinations of humans and devils, though there is a slight difference between these two terms, whereby a fiend describes a devil that takes over a human corpse or body. This is usually when there is no human soul, and the devil exists within the confines of the dead human body. 

A hybrid is a devil that fuses with a living human, whereby both entities (human and devil) coexist within the same body. The concept itself sounds so cool, and it explains what Chainsaw Man is. 

Lastly, Devil Hunters is a government-backed organisation, called Public Safety Devil Hunters, that protects humans by fighting against devils. Ironically enough, they rely on contracts, fiends, and hybrids to counter devils since devils are typically stronger than humans by nature. 

The entire series revolves around Denji, a human, and Pochita, the Chainsaw Devil, who are the main characters of the series. Both beings are bound by a contract where Pochita becomes Denji’s heart to revive him from his death. Their bond is akin to paw-rents and their furry pets — unbreakable, undeniable, mutually loving. 

Denji is discovered by Makima, who was presumed to be a human, with a strange liking towards Denji and Pochita

The Chainsaw Devil is perceived as one of the strongest devils, since it can permanently erase a devil from existence, making them a hot target for other devils to seize the powers for themselves. 

Soon enough, Denji joins the Public Safety Devil Hunters. He has to work closely with Power, another fiend who slowly became his best friend. Reluctantly, he also learnt to work with Aki Hayakawa, another Devil Hunter who relies on contracts with multiple devils.

Denji and friends would face multiple dangerous devils, such as the Tomato Devil, Shark Devil, Zombie Devil, and more. Other characters, such as Himeno, Reze, and Kishibe, were later introduced within season one (manga chapters 20, 40, 52, respectively). 

Chainsaw Man — The Movie: Reze Arc takes place after season one wraps up, and is based on manga chapters 39 to 52. It will focus on Denji’s encounter with Reze and his relationships with Makima and Reze. 

Denji and Makima already have an established relationship prior to the movie. However, due to his inexperience in love, he views Makima in a distorted romantic light, and she takes full advantage of it by manipulating any situation to discipline him. 

In the Reze arc, Denji falls in love with Reze and believes that his love for her is different. In the manga, we witnessed Denji willingly ready to let Makima go for the sake of being together with Reze. 

The rest of the lore can be found in the manga, but I won’t spoil any further. If you would like to find out more, catch the movie on the big screen instead.
