<p>Valentine&#8217;s day is coming and everyone&#8217;s nervous to present their best selves to <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/valentines-day-2020-14-places-to-impress-your-date/">their date on the big day</a>. Wanna watch some Netflix shows to calm those nerves? </p>

<p>If there&#8217;s one thing about love, it&#8217;s that it&#8217;s blind, and it&#8217;s stupid. People fall in love for strange reasons, just be yourself. Sure, you can go dressed in a chic<em> Tom Ford</em> dress, paired with a <em>Hermes</em> clutch. But do you <em>have</em> to? Here are 6 Netflix shows that prove my hypothesis.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-your-name-engraved-herein">Your Name Engraved Herein</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-your-name-engraved-herein.jpg" alt="netflix shows your name engraved herein" class="wp-image-23535" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-your-name-engraved-herein.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-your-name-engraved-herein-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-your-name-engraved-herein-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-your-name-engraved-herein-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-your-name-engraved-herein-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption><em>PHOTO: IMDB</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>I&#8217;d be more surprised if you hadn&#8217;t watched this yet, after countless covers of its theme song. <em>Your Name Engraved Herein</em> is a bittersweet tale of a young man in 80s Taiwan, trying to come to terms with his confusing romantic feelings. </p>

<p>What do you do when you fall in love with someone society says you shouldn&#8217;t? Maybe love is blind and you can&#8217;t control yourself. You&#8217;d feel a lump in your throat while experiencing the protagonist&#8217;s anguish&#8212;all for a forbidden love that&#8217;s so near, yet so far.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good:</strong> It&#8217;s a rollercoaster ride of emotions which places all the deep, personal internal conflict under a microscope. It&#8217;s gonna be a bit of a tear jerker, but hey I love to cry to films. I hope you do too.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>It&#8217;s in Chinese. Not exactly a problem with the film but it&#8217;s a limitation for many Singaporeans (@ing MOE). Subtitles are cool and all, but you miss a lot of nuances in a dialogue-driven film like this. </p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/watch/81287844">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-brooklyn-nine-nine">Brooklyn Nine-Nine</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-brooklyn.jpg" alt="netflix shows brooklyn nine nine" class="wp-image-23537" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-brooklyn.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-brooklyn-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-brooklyn-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-brooklyn-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-brooklyn-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption><em>PHOTO: IMDB</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>On a more light-hearted note, <em>Brooklyn Nine-Nine</em> is a great representation of how love is blind. Yes, it&#8217;s not quite the grand romantic tale. Yes, it&#8217;s a slapstick sitcom. However, there&#8217;s surprising depth to its characters.</p>

<p>The central romance revolves around how the uptight teacher&#8217;s pet Amy somehow falls madly in love with a rule-breaking class clown like Jake. How&#8217;s that for unlikely, blind love? <em>&#8220;Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool. No doubt, no doubt, no doubt.&#8221;</em></p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>Probably one of the most popular Netflix shows. The characters are quirky and likeable, and the shenanigans are just great light-hearted fun. Not to mention it&#8217;s as quotable as classics like <em>The Office</em> or <em>Friends</em>.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong><em>Brooklyn Nine-Nine</em> ain&#8217;t really high-brow humour. It&#8217;s already one of the smarter sitcoms out there, but some people probably just can&#8217;t stand the slapstick. And there&#8217;s <em>a lot</em> of stick slapping&#8212;<em>&#8220;title of your sex tape&#8221;</em></p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/sg/title/70281562">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-attack-on-titan"><strong>Attack on Titan</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-attack-on-titan.jpg" alt="netflix shows attack on titan" class="wp-image-23536" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-attack-on-titan.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-attack-on-titan-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-attack-on-titan-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-attack-on-titan-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-attack-on-titan-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption><em>PHOTO: IMDB</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>You might wonder why <em>Attack on Titan</em> is on this list. Well, if the relationship between protagonists Eren and Mikasa isn&#8217;t a textbook example of<em> &#8220;love is blind&#8221;</em>, I don&#8217;t know what is.</p>

<p>Mikasa just follows Eren and looks past all his unreasonable or braindead decisions. Often times, you wonder why Mikasa still sticks with Eren after all the danger she goes through for his sake. That&#8217;s blind,<em> undying</em> love.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>The animation in <em>Attack on Titan</em> is super sleek, which is amazing for an anime as action-packed as this. There&#8217;s a lot of moments that make you go <em>&#8220;wtf&#8221;</em>, the characters are well-written, and their relationships are fleshed out.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad:</strong> If you can&#8217;t take gore and edgy anime protagonists, this isn&#8217;t for you. Don&#8217;t go expecting Attack on Titan to be another typical <em>shounen</em> anime&#8212;it&#8217;s pretty far from that.</p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/browse?jbv=70299043">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-her"><strong>Her</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-her.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-23532" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-her.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-her-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-her-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-her-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-her-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption><em>PHOTO: IMDB</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>Can you imagine falling in love with Siri? <em>Her</em> explores the idea of love between man and technology, well advanced, sentient A.I. to be more precise. It&#8217;s a nice surprise that Netflix shows this award-winning film. </p>

<p>The film starts with Theodore (Joaquin Phoenix) struggling to cope with the impending divorce with his childhood sweetheart. Everything changes when he buys and sets up his new A.I., Samantha. </p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>A very interesting idea supported by Oscar Award winner Joaquin Phoenix&#8217;s incredible performance. The blend of <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/the-bravery-cafe-amoy-street/">washed-out and pastel tones</a>, quirky wardrobe, and vivid set design all paint a compelling futuristic landscape. </p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>It&#8217;s a bit slow and takes a while to build up. But it is the patient buildup that makes this human-machine love story so compelling. Bear with it.</p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/watch/70278933">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-haunting-of-bly-manor">The Haunting of Bly Manor</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-haunting-of-bly-manor.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-23534" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-haunting-of-bly-manor.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-haunting-of-bly-manor-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-haunting-of-bly-manor-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-haunting-of-bly-manor-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-haunting-of-bly-manor-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption><em>PHOTO: IMDB</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>While part of<em> The Haunting</em> Netflix shows, <em>The Haunting of Bly Manor</em> is not like its predecessor. It centers more on the theme of regret as the ghosts in our life, instead of being anchored in the supernatural.</p>

<p>There are multiple romance subplots going on in the story. But there&#8217;s a common theme of seeing past each other&#8217;s flaws and traumas, and loving the person for who they are. Except for a certain <em>lady in the lake</em>, of course&#8212;she&#8217;s pure vengeance.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>An illuminating look into how past traumas shape us and how we should stop <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/cny-opened-places/">running from our problems</a>. The show not only does a great job of building a nuanced account of the characters&#8217; traumas and struggles with them, but also showing the emotional payoff of moving on.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>If you&#8217;re a horror fan looking for those spine-chilling jump scares, you&#8217;d be disappointed. It&#8217;s a pretty tame series with only some fright scenes. But sometimes, the scariest things are not ghosts but people.</p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/watch/81237854">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-the-end-of-the-f-king-world"><strong><strong>The End of the F**king World</strong></strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="1000" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-end-of-the-fking-world.jpg" alt="netflix shows for valentines day" class="wp-image-23533" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-end-of-the-fking-world.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-end-of-the-fking-world-240x300.jpg 240w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-end-of-the-fking-world-768x960.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-end-of-the-fking-world-312x390.jpg 312w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/netflix-shows-love-is-blind-the-end-of-the-fking-world-585x731.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption><em>PHOTO: IMDB</em></figcaption></figure>

<p>One of the quirkiest Netflix shows. This is a story of young teenage love, but also not exactly. It&#8217;s a story of two damaged young people who slowly learn to accept each other despite all the flaws.</p>

<p>One is a self-proclaimed sociopath and one is an emotionally-abused rebel. They start off with a fake relationship but then things go haywire, which leads them on a wild adventure escaping from home.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>There are pretty thrilling moments, and the dynamic between the two teenage leads is <em>hella cute</em>. It brings several unexpected twists but then concludes quite sweetly at the end of 2 seasons. Absolutely no unnecessary fluff to extend the series.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>It&#8217;s a dark comedy, so some of the scenes are pretty dark. It&#8217;s a British show, so humour is also slightly dry. But if you&#8217;re into morbid humour, this is worth a spin.</p>

<p>Give me drama. Give me the juice. Fill me with deep, raging contempt that makes me want to teleport into the movie and give that adulteress the slap she deserves. Sure, it’s cute to see Netflix K-dramas of two personas falling in love and living happily ever after, but it’s also boring and unrealistic. Life should be a balance of both the good and the bad, and this spicy list of bad marriages and relationships will fuel you with a burning passion for righteousness you never thought existed.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-netflix-k-dramas-on-adultery">Netflix K-dramas on adultery</h2>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-1-v-i-p">1. V.I.P</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="449" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows.png" alt="Netflix Infidelity dramas" class="wp-image-22427" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows.png 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-300x168.png 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-768x431.png 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-585x328.png 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Netflix</figcaption></figure>

<p>Most shows on infidelity reveal the identity of a secret lover within the first episode, but in <strong>V.I.P</strong>, this suspense is kept till the very end.</p>

<p>The mystery starts with main character Na Jung-sun, who gets an anonymous text stating that her seemingly perfect husband is having an affair with someone in her office. To make matters worse, her husband also heads the department that she works in.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>It’s a chair-gripping experience from start to end. The story unravels with snippets of the co-workers’ lives, and just when you think you’ve nailed the adulteress’s identity, they’ll throw you off again.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>You’ll never be sure of whether your anger is directed at the right person or not. </p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81343844">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-2-the-world-of-the-married">2. <strong>The World Of The Married</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="567" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/The-world-of-the-married-1.jpg" alt="Netflix infidelity dramas 1" class="wp-image-22431" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/The-world-of-the-married-1.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/The-world-of-the-married-1-300x213.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/The-world-of-the-married-1-768x544.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/The-world-of-the-married-1-550x390.jpg 550w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/The-world-of-the-married-1-585x415.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Netflix</figcaption></figure>

<p>There’s no better way of taking revenge on your cheating husband than starting an affair with his bestfriend &#8212; who’s also married.</p>

<p>When it was first launched, <strong>The World Of The Married</strong> crushed the list of Netflix K-dramas and quickly rose to the top. The series brings you through a whirlwind of betrayal, grief and forgiveness. Our main characters struggle to one-up each other’s lives, sabotage each other&#8217;s careers, and fight for their son’s custody.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>Despite the drama, the series does paint a realistic picture of what a person goes through when they’re being cheated on. Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression do surface, which goes much deeper than just anger.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>Very much like you telling your best friend to stop going back to their stanky, cheating ex, they still do. The soft spot Ji Sun-woo (female lead) has for her husband gets tiresome after a while.</p>

<p>Watch <a href="https://www.netflix.com/title/81287006">here</a>.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-3-love-ft-marriage-and-divorce">3. <strong>Love (Ft. Marriage and Divorce)</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="450" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-2.jpg" alt="Netflix infidelity dramas 2" class="wp-image-22423" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-2.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-2-300x169.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-2-768x432.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-2-585x329.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Netflix</figcaption></figure>

<p>If one bad marriage isn’t enough for you, how about three? <strong>Love (Ft. Marriage and Divorce)</strong> follows the marital troubles of three women in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s, with infidelity and other shockers along the way.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>Instead of just focusing on the married couples, the series shows a refreshing point of view from affected parties such as the children and parents-in-law.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>Flashbacks are heavily used and can be quite confusing for viewers. Plus, the problems seem to only come from the men, which feels a little unbalanced.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="449" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-3-1.jpg" alt="Netflix infidelity dramas 3" class="wp-image-22432" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-3-1.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-3-1-300x168.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-3-1-768x431.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-3-1-585x328.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Netflix</figcaption></figure>

<p><strong>The Fierce Wife </strong>isn’t a K-drama, but it is perhaps the mother of all adultery shows. The show originated from <a href="https://confirmgood.com/post/be-transported-to-taiwan-at-the-new-eat-3-bowls-station/">Taiwan</a> and in 2011, it was titled as the “Most Talked About TV Show”, and some controversial parts of the story received heated discussion from all over Asia.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>Your husband having a mistress is one thing. But for your cousin to be his lover? You know that it’ll be a showdown.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>When The One Above blesses you with a rich, young and handsome man after your failed marriage, it’s unforgivable to leave him hanging till the end. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-5-hymn-of-death">5. <strong>Hymn of Death</strong></h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="451" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-4.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-22433" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-4.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-4-300x169.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-4-768x433.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-4-585x330.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Netflix</figcaption></figure>

<p>I’d suggest preparing a box of tissues for this one. Based on true events, the Netflix K-drama original <strong>The Hymn of Death </strong>portrays the tragic, illicit affair between Korea&#8217;s first ever professional soprano singer, Yum Sim Deok, and a playwright, Kim U-jin.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>With a short run time of only three hours, the story still manages to captivate its audience with the message of self-sacrificial love.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>I ran out of tissues.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading" id="h-6-misty">6. Misty</h3>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="800" height="450" src="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-5.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-22434" srcset="https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-5.jpg 800w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-5-300x169.jpg 300w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-5-768x432.jpg 768w, https://confirmgood.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/Netflix-Infidelity-Shows-5-585x329.jpg 585w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption>Photo: Netflix</figcaption></figure>

<p><strong>Misty </strong>revolves around a successful news anchor, who soon becomes the prime suspect of the murder of her former lover. With her estranged husband stepping in as her defence lawyer, the pair falls in love with each other again.</p>

<p><strong>What’s good: </strong>It’s a fresh plot, considering that Netflix K-dramas on illicit affairs are usually centralized on family feuds.</p>

<p><strong>What’s bad: </strong>Fans of the series have picked up on certain plot holes, which are hard to explain.</p>
