Happy Valentine’s Day! For everyone celebrating the occasion, we have compiled some of the best places to have a romantic dining experience – including vegan, gluten-free, and halal options. Here are some places to feast on tasty delights with beautiful ambience for the perfect Valentine’s date!

1. Dusk

Looking to really impress your date this Valentine’s? Take him/her to Dusk Restaurant & Bar and have a romantic dinner while appreciating the breathtaking view!

At 100m above sea level surrounded by lush rainforest, Dusk has the perfect vantage point for panoramic views of Harbourfront & Sentosa Island. Experience splendid sunsets on a hilltop and chill out with European tapas & specially curated wines and cocktails.

2. Cafe de Nicole’s Flower

Prefer taking your Valentine’s to a cafe? Tucked away in the neighbourhood of Telok Kurau is the stunning Cafe de Nicole’s Flower. Despite being the new kid on the block, it has already become a hotspot for cafe hoppers for its gorgeous floral arrangements and photogenic interior.

On top of the aesthetic aspect of the cafe, the food presentation is extremely Instagram-worthy as well! Their menu features delectable all-day breakfast options, and extends to an assortment of desserts and teas.

3. White Rabbit

Welcome to Singapore’s most enchanting European wonderland – The White Rabbit is a charming restaurant and bar housed in a restored 1930s chapel set upon the iconic Dempsey Hill in Singapore. Talk about a cosy romantic setting!

4. The Botanic (Vegan options available)

Drawing inspiration from nature, The Botanic specialises in plant-based sharing dishes with vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free options. The meat and seafood used is also proudly free-range and organic.

The interior and exterior is aimed to emulate a unique nature experience to set the tone for a romantic evening.

Be it vegan options or meat choices, The Botanic has a wide range of food to satisfy your cravings – carnivore, paletorian, pollotarian, pescatarian, flexitarian, vegetarian and vegan.

On Valentine’s Day, there will be a special 3 course meal for $50, including Braised Wagyu beef, baked snapper, barbecue snapper & clams, king prawns… YUM!

5. PS. Cafe One Fullerton

PS. Cafe at One Fullerton shares the same interior concept as all PS. outlets. We chose this outlet in particular as you’ll get an amazing view of the waterfront while you dine in a nice cosy environment.

As for food options, you can expect European classics with a hint of Asian flavour. We had a go at the Crab & Prawn Laksa, Crab Mee Goreng, and the Spicy King Prawn Aglio Olio, all of which are delectable options worth trying. Main courses average at $30, and vegetarian options are available here as well.

6. Skai

If you thought your partner is the only one who can take your breath away, you’ll be fascinated when you enter Skai. Located at the Swissôtel, this restaurant is 70 storeys above ground, providing a mind-blowing view of the landscape.

For Valentine’s Day, they have lined-up two carefully crafted menu courses to nourish your soul – one that focuses more on vegan friendly options ($198++) and another with an array of meat options ($298++). This special menu is available between 13 – 16 Feb, so be quick before the reservations are filled.

7. The Butcher’s Wife (Gluten-free options available)

8. OverEasy Fullerton

Think mouth-watering diner classics, nostalgic crowd favourites, decadent milkshakes and American-inspired cocktails by the waterfront. OverEasy Fullerton boasts sweeping views of the Marina Bay skyline and draws inspiration from the edgy, vibrant spirit of the retro ‘50s and ‘60s.

9. The Halia (Halal)

There are few places that could match the serenity and peace of the Botanic Gardens, but The Halia comes close.

The al-fresco restaurant serves food ranging from seafood and steak to vegetarian dishes. Our personal favourite is Halia Singapore Style Chilli Crab Spaghetteni ($26++), served in spicy, sweet and tangy sauces. This flavourful dish goes well with Halia’s Signature Jam Juice.

The Halia’s “Perfect Date” this Valentine’s Day includes a feast at The Halia, Picnic style desserts in the Gardens, and a movie and snacks at The Villa. This escapade will cost $240++ per couple.

10. FrapasBar

Try something French this Valentine’s! Located at Dhoby Ghaut, FrapasBar features reimagined French classics served in tapas servings.

The Seafood BouilLabaisse, Garlic Prawns, and Escargot on Bone Marrow are some of our favourites and you should definitely give these a go. The starters and Frapas are perfect for sharing if you would like to try various dishes.

This Valentine’s, FrapasBar is having an exclusive Valentine’s Menu which features exquisite dishes such as Baked Oysters with Pernod Cream, Pan Roasted Lobster with Seaweed Beurre Blanc, Spring Chicken with Butter Rice and Jus, and dessert. The Valentine’s Menu is only available on 14 Feb and is going at $95.

11. Privé @ CHIJMES

Privé is a safe option for Valentine’s that can’t go wrong. With various outlets around the island, the one at CHIJMES is the most iconic, with alfresco options offering simple and approachable favourites.

The prices of mains are slightly more than $20 and their menu ranges from Burgers, Pastas, Stone-Baked Pizzas, as well as decadent desserts and pastries. For those with dietary restrictions, they offer vegan options as well.

We recommend heading here for dinner just before sunset for the ideal romantic experience. Go for the alfresco seating and enjoy the lovely ambience, decked with fairy lights when the sun sets!

12. Fika (Halal)

Swedish cuisine is a little unheard of in Singapore, but Fika Cafe is a good place to start. Located at the heart of Bugis, it is an idyllic place to bring your special someone and introduce them to an enchanting Nordic adventure. Have a ‘Swede’ time!

Experience the Scandinivian palate and sample an array of delicacies that you may have not heard of before. One of their most loved dishes is of course the Swedish Meatballs. The meatballs are home-made and are accompanied with baby potatoes, cream sauce, lingonberry jam and pickled cucumbers ($19++).

13. Wheeler’s Estate

There are many options here at Wheeler’s Estate. It’s where life, play and cycling meets. Set amidst rustic vibes that blend with lush, abundant nature at every corner, it’s the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Built and designed to create open, communal spaces – the 2-acre wide former British military airbase-turned heritage building will present you with an experience of a whole new world. Dine in airy, spacious verandahs, soak up live tunes by the bar, relax by the lawn with a picnic, or explore the community on foot – or two wheels.

14. Timbre

Bringing music, food, and drinks together in one place, Timbre is a great choice for a casual date – especially if your Valentine’s date loves music. They flaunt some of the best local talents playing songs ranging from acoustic rock to top 50 hits. Offering a great atmosphere with great live music, it’s impossible not to sing along!

Timbre X @ The Arts House

The main attractions of Timbre X @ The Arts House lie in its gorgeous view of the Singapore River and the nightly acoustic music performances; a great mix and balance of tranquillity and vibrancy. With a great lineup of resident bands each evening, this is a great place to chill over music, tapas, pizza and drinks.

Some of the must-try food dishes here include Poached White Wine Sauce Black Mussels, Fillet Mignon Chunks, Rosemary Crispy Bacon and Egg Pizza and, of course, Timbre’s signature Roasted Duck Pizza. It can get really packed at times so do be sure to make a reservation prior to Valentine’s Day.

Away from the crowd and hidden at the back of The Substation, the flagship Timbre X live music venue emits an exclusive old school casual charm. Amongst the waving leafy fronds, dine alfresco, quench your thirst at the bar and enjoy nightly live music performances.

There are 14 stalls available here and is a great place if you’re looking to have a casual dinner with drinks and music. We highly recommend ordering the Har Cheong Gai Chicken Cutlet Rice from Ah Tan, and Chilli Crab Sauce Seafood Hor Fun or Seafood White Bee Hoon from XLX Modern Tze Char.

Switch by Timbre X

Switch is a bilingual Mandarin and English live music venue and restaurant-bar located at Bras Basah. The venue sets the stage for the best up-and-coming Singaporean musicians proficient in Mandarin and English pop-rock and sees live performances nightly; from an intimate duo to a full 7-piece band rocking out on stage on weekend nights.

Switch serves up a menu incorporating the best of what Timbre X has to offer in tapas, pizzas, and Asian-inspired dishes. A great place to grab some drinks with live music after dinner.
