Looks like Changi Airport is showing no signs of slowing down when it comes to wowing us with their incredible amenities as there’s now even a water park. And, you don’t have to be a traveller to enjoy the attraction as it’s entirely open to the public.

Cosmic HydroPark has five play areas to look forward to. Get ready for an adrenaline rush on the Water Obstacle Course, where you’ll dash, bounce, and balance your way across trampolines, beams, swings, and more.

For the height-lovers, the Tower Climber offers an elevated view of the whole water park (okay, maybe not that high, but you get the idea).

You’ll probably find me zooming down the Giant Water Slide straight into the Cosmic Pool. And, when I’m ready to chill, I’ll be floating away on the Inflatable Planet Rocker, living my best life on the water.

Families with little ones, rest assured — the Kiddy Pool is the perfect spot for safe splashes and big smiles. It may be pint-sized, but it’s packed with fun for your mini adventurers!

Want to up your water park game? Head on over to the Astro Mart, where you can purchase water guns, extra floaties, waterproof pouches (for your precious phones), and all sorts of equipment to take your adventure to the next level.

Admission starts from S$19 per person on weekdays and S$24 per person on weekends. However, you can get bundle passes for two from just S$36 or a group of four from S$68 on weekdays.

The Cosmic HydroPark is making waves daily until 1 January 2025. After that, it will only be open on weekends until 16 February 2025, so make sure to plan your water adventures accordingly!

1. Sunway Lagoon

Sunway Lagoon has become quite a house name for many families. I remember frequenting this place when I was a kid (which was, uh, not too long ago) and just having the best time of my life.

Located just 20 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur City Centre, the theme park houses six distinct adventure zones with a mix of roller coasters, water slides, and even haunted houses — time to release all your pent up stress and scream your lungs out here. The park is also home to Asia’s first Nickelodeon water theme park. Relive your childhood memories with the characters from Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles while you’re there – maybe even drag them on a ride or two with you.

2. ESCAPE Penang 

ESCAPE Penang is home to the world’s longest tube water slide — spanning a total of 1,111m and filled with plenty of twists and turns. The park is surrounded by lush greenery and serves as a great escape away from the hustle and bustle of the city — which is probably where it got its name from. 

Apart from the massive tube water slide, the park also has over 30 fun and exciting activities across the different play zones like Adventureplay park and Waterplay park. If zooming down the tube slide is not your vibe, you can try the challenging rope courses or even pretend to be Tarzan and zipline through the trees.

3. SplashMania at Gamuda Cove 

Beat the heat and spend your carefree days under the sun at SplashMania — the newest water park in Kuala Lumpur. The massive park features 39 water rides and attractions, including a pirate ship that exudes Pirates of the Carribean vibes. 

Some of the must-try rides include the exhilarating 78 metre-long Shaka Waka water slide, which is programmed with LED light effects and music — it is indeed as fun as the name suggests.

Tyra Banks once said “You wanna be on top?” Well, for a good few seconds, the Sumaumeirah Drop will let you experience what it’s like being at the top of the world, before sending you down a 75-degree drop and finishing with a big splash — quite literally.

4. Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark 

Desaru is home to some of the finest beach resorts that offer stunning coastal views of the sunset. But did you know that there is also an adventure water park in Desaru? The Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark is a sprawling three-acre land that is packed with tons of family-friendly activities. The park is also filled with almost four million gallons of water — there are hardly any “no splash zones” here so you’ll definitely get wet. 

Some exciting rides to check out here include the pirate ship that arches up to 180º. Put your bravery to the test and hop on the thrilling roller coaster that goes through a full 360º loop — why talk about a full-circle moment when you can experience the real deal! But of course, we didn’t forget about the children. There are plenty of kid-friendly rides on-site too.

5. Waterpark LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort

Most people might be familiar with the LEGOLAND theme park but there’s also plenty to do at the water park. The water park is broken up into three segments, each catering to different age groups of children. While the park may centre around young children, it also surprisingly makes for great fun for adults – maybe because we get to let our inner child run free here. 

Built with children in mind, the water park features rides like a lazy river where parents and their children can float along while playing with the LEGO brick floaties. Other exciting highlights include the LEGO wave pool, Build-A-Raft lazy river, and interactive play structures at the DUPLO Splash Safari.

6. Sunway Lost World of Tambun

When it comes to fun places to explore in Malaysia, Ipoh doesn’t exactly come to mind. But contrary to popular belief, Ipoh is home to Sunway Lost World of Tambun – a family-friendly theme park with a water park, 12 natural hot springs pools, animal petting, and even the majestic limestone cliffs for exploring. 

You can race your kids down the twisting water slides such as the Tube Raiders and Cliff Racer, or have a water cannon shoot off at the pool. But, the fun doesn’t stop there, as you can also attend the Awesome Pool Party – yes that’s the actual name of the party – that takes place daily, with a live DJ on weekends. I don’t know about you but it sure sounds like a great way to end the school term with a splash.

7. Splash Out Water Theme Park

Splash Out Water Theme Park is Langkawi’s most famous water park and is filled with plenty of thrilling rides for the young – and those young at heart. Spread across 12 acres of land, the water park promises to be a wholesome and fun experience for the whole family. 

There are over 12 attractions for you to explore like the Wild Water, Sprinkle Island, Poseidon’s Revenge, and more. Get your adrenaline pumping at the Perfect Storm, which is a 40-degree parabolic bowl-shaped ride on a raft that will have you spinning like a kaleidoscope, before splashing you back to ground. 

The Shipwreck Falls is another adrenaline-inducing ride which will send you down a steep drop before propelling you vertically uphill in reverse and ending in a splash pool. If you can’t handle roller coasters, you might want to sit this one out.

8. Bangi Wonderland  

Bring your family for a fun-filled getaway at the Bangi Wonderland Water park. Sprawled across 12-acre land, the park is filled with a mix of fun rides that will send your heart pumping and adrenaline rushing, as well as some more mellow rides for those who prefer to keep their sanity in check.

If you’re making a stop here, you definitely have to give the Water Canon ride a go – and yes, it is exactly what it’s name suggests. A huge gush of water from the water canon will push you up into the air before sending you for a dive into the pool. 

The kiddos will surely enjoy the Kids Adventure which is complete with a variety of games and slides. There’s also the child-friendly Insane Racer where you can race your kids down the colourful water slide — which is said to be the longest slide in Malaysia. To make things even more challenging, there is a water bucket waiting to drench anyone who stands under it – perfect for forfeits.
