Despite opening as a toned-down concept, Sagye Lite has no intention of compromising the quality of their renowned dishes. 

At its newest outlet, Sagye Lite serves a wide selection of its famous sotbap-inspired pot rice dishes alongside familiar Korean classics, with prices starting from S$12.90.

A key attribute to the brand, each pot of rice is cooked to order and served with free-flow banchan, offering a satisfying and well-rounded meal for both lunch and dinner. In total, Sagye Lite offers 11 varieties of pot rice, including bestsellers like the Grilled Pork Belly Pot Rice (S$13.90), Grilled Chicken Pot Rice (S$12.90), and the Spicy Chicken with Three Cheese (S$18.90).

Among the top-selling dishes, Sagye Lite’s Grilled Pork Belly Pot Rice features thick-cut pork belly marinated in a soy-based sauce, while the Grilled Chicken Pot Rice focuses on cooking juicy marinated chicken. The ultimate dish for our spice lovers, the Spicy Chicken Pot Rice comes with three cheeses melted on top of stir-fried chicken thigh, using a sauce comprising Korean gochujang (chilli paste), gochugaru (chilli powder), soy sauce, and more.

Beyond pot rice, Sagye Lite features a comprehensive à la carte menu of Korean comfort dishes. True to their on-the-go or lighter outlet, takeaway is available, including bento options with a minimum order of five, catering to office lunches and gatherings in the Jurong East area.

This is the ultimate comfort snack: filled with savoury Japanese curry wrapped in light airy dough, and coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried till it’s golden-brown. It’s crispy, chewy, and bursting with umami with every bite.

Now that you’re in the know — Giraffa Curry Pan — one of Japan‘s most famous kare pan vendors, is debuting in Singapore for their first-ever international expansion! If you have been to Westgate in the last couple of months, you might have already seen the boarding up on the second floor.

Located near Kamakura Station, the crowd waits for one item on their menu: their signature kare pan.

Let’s talk about the star of the show, Giraffa has perfected their milk-flavoured buns packed with cheesy beef-and-pork curry goodness that just has a light tinge of sweetness. Their curry mix is crafted with 30 spices including cumin, turmeric, as well as honey, apples, tomatoes, and wine which gives that surprising sweet twist.

The usual Japanese curry buns are rolled in panko crumbs before getting deep-fried. Giraffa Curry Bun uses a specially formulated batter giving it an airy yet crispy texture which could be a reason why they have won the Curry Grand Prix for three consecutive years.

This is no wonder why they always draw snaking queues, selling up to 1,500 pieces in a single day. For optimal consumption, Giraffa recommends for the curry bun to be consumed immediately after purchase to retain that satisfying crunch and warmth.

A fun fact is that Giraffa actually means ‘Giraffe’ in Italian, which is in hopes that their kare pan will make customers wait with bated breaths with their necks outstretched like giraffes.
