Still hung up on the belief that “there’s nothing to do in Singapore”? You are very, very wrong.

Even though there are plenty of museums and art galleries (with free entry, even!) to visit on our shores, this week is the best time to fully immerse yourself in our flourishing arts scene.

If you’ve already made plans for events like Singapore Art Week 2023 and the Light to Night festival, why not also make room for ART SG, Southeast Asia’s largest-ever art fair taking place from now till 15 January 2023

Although ART SG serves as a space for avid collectors and buyers to connect, you don’t have to be familiar with the arts scene, local or international, to visit this exciting exhibition.

Keep an eye out for pieces by some of the biggest names in contemporary art, like Banksy, Yayoi Kusama, and Damien Hirst, just to name a few. You may also spot works by other major artists like Nam June Paik (who held his iconic The Future is Now exhibition in Singapore last year) and Antony Gormley (who has an ongoing exhibition at the National Gallery

Take in striking IG-worthy installations — a laser-cut metal cube and light sculpture being one of them — and even film screenings at the neighbouring ArtScience Museum.

Don’t miss Asynchronous Dreams, a 76-minute program consisting of experimental film, video art, animation, and VR games that touch on themes such as “the politics of memories, dreams, myths, the body, uncanny landscapes, as well as digital technology”.
