We’re all well familiar with carnivals taking place on land. But have you ever heard of a carnival on water? Well, The SAF Yacht Club is bringing back its Carnival By The Straits with loads of fun and exciting activities to bring you a whole new carnival experience. Time to gear up for a splashing good time under the sun!
Taking place on 10 June 2023, the carnival will feature a host of sea sports activities that will help you beat the heat, because honestly, we could all use a good cooling off. The line-up of water activities include jet skiing, Banana Boat, Ski Tube and more. Each round of watersports activities are priced S$10 and the rides are suitable for all ages.
Thrill-seekers should take the chance to hop on the Rigid-Hulled Inflatable Boat and go on a joyride. For those who don’t know what this vessel is, it is basically a high-speed and heavy-duty military vessel typically used for rescue operations. Jump in to experience what it’s like being a naval officer or if you’re simply up for something more high intensity and adrenaline-pumping!
If you’ve got sea sickness and work better on land, the carnival also has a series of land-based activities lined up for you. Some exciting activities to look forward to include Archery (S$6) — for you to unleash your inner Katniss Everdeen — as well as old-school carnival games (from S$2).
The crowd favourite escape room (S$8) will also be returning to the carnival so rally up some of your smartest (and bravest) friends to look for clues and conquer the puzzles in order to make your great escape. There will also be a lucky draw contest with attractive prizes to be won.
Your carnival fun is not complete without checking out the food and merchandise section. There will be plenty of F&B booths here to satisfy your hunger and give you that energy boost in between rides. From now until 13 May 2023, there will be an early bird promo with ticket prices going for just S$23 (U.P. S$25) for the general public, while SAFYC members, MRO, Mindef and SAF personnel can enjoy a special rate of S$20. These tickets will be used as credits for you to take part in the activities on-site, so hurry and grab your tickets here now!
