If cinnamon rolls have your heart, listen up, ‘cos you’re in luck! Iconic American cinnamon roll chain Cinnabon has finally opened Singapore this February 2023, at none other than Raffles City Shopping Centre.
Originating in Seattle, Washington, the bakery was first started out by a father-son duo in 1985, and has become one of the most recognisable and sought-after brands, with over 50 outlets worldwide.
We visited during the soft launch on 7 February, eager to get our hands on the OG — the world-famous Cinnabon Classic (S$6.80 for original size, S$4.20 for mini), made with a combination of warm dough, Makara cinnamon from Indonesia, and signature cream cheese.
Each roll is large and fluffy, with gooey, pillowy soft layers (the center of the roll is arguably the best part), smothered in a rich cream cheese frosting, with a touch of lemon juice that cuts through that cloying sweetness oh-so perfectly.
There are two other flavours to choose from, one of which is the Caramel Pecanbon (S$7.60 for original size, S$4.80 for mini), topped with caramel and toasted pecans.
Alternatively, those who prefer a cinnamon-free treat (but why?) can go for the fun-sized Chocobon (S$4.50) with chocolate spread and a dark chocolate drizzle.
It’s super easy to fulfill all your party, picnic, or gifting needs with the Signature Cinnapacks. Order the signature Cinnbon 4 (from S$26.80), a box of four regular-sized Cinnabon rolls, or the Minibon 4 (from S$16.30) — both also come with a handy Mix & Match option.
Although you won’t be able to get your hands on the comforting Churro Swirl, as well as the ooey gooey Center of the Roll (for now), Cinnabon Singapore has brought in Cinnachips (S$4), crunchy pieces of cinnamon chips, and Roll-On-The-Go (S$4), bite-sized rolls perfect for snacking on the go.
You can also look forward to cinnamon rolls in locally-inspired flavours like kaya and biscoff in time to come!
Drinks-wise, those with a massive sweet tooth can cool down with Chillattas (S$6.50), the brand’s very own blended frozen beverages which come in flavours like Strawberry, Cookies & Cream, and Cinnamon Caramel.
However, we highly recommend going for either the MochaLatte Chill (S$5), an iced mocha beverage, or the zesty and refreshing Sweetheart Lemonberry (S$4.50) — exclusive to the Singapore outlet.
But you can always choose to keep it simple with speciality coffee or even tea lattes (from S$6). Houjicha from Cinnabon? Now that’s a first.
At the time of writing, Cinnabon Singapore is looking into obtaining halal certification, but all ingredients used do not contain pork, lard, or alcohol.
The outlet’s Grand Opening will be on 9 February 2023, from 11am onwards, so you can look forward to getting your cinnamon roll fix then!
