Not to be confused with the hit Netflix series Mindhunter, Crack the Case: Mind Hunter, is an immersive live theatre experience you shouldn’t miss.
Set in a heritage house along Waterloo Street that has been transformed into the mind of an alleged psychopath and serial killer, you’ll get to freely navigate through several multi-sensory galleries and explore scenes as the story unfolds around you in a non-linear way.
That’s right — you’ll be attempting to solve a murder mystery by connecting with characters brought to life by professional actors, gathering clues and puzzles (that may be hidden in plain sight), and uncovering crucial information.
Audiences can choose to experience the show in a group, so at the end, you’ll get to discuss and collate your findings with your team. But if you’d like to be a lone wolf and take on the challenge alone, by all means! Do you have what it takes to crack the case?
Unlike a traditional theatrical production, this experience will have you moving around, climbing stairs, standing, and sitting for the entire duration of 90 minutes, so don’t expect the usual seats and all.
As a theatre fan who can never pass up on a good mystery, I loved the interactive, hands-on element that really got me immersed in my role as a “detective”. Being able to observe the characters interact with one another up close (and not from afar) effectively blurred the boundaries between reality and fiction — you become part of the show, after all.
Folks who are a little more faint-hearted will be happy to know that the show does not contain any horror, gore, or blood, and is hence suitable for ages 16 and above. However, you’ll be confronted by themes of family tragedy, revenge, and murder.
Crack The Case: Mind Hunter will run from 10 November till 10 December 2023, with tickets priced at S$68 for standard, and S$98 for VIP, inclusive of a secret pre-show prelude, a meet-the-characters session, access to the VIP area, and an exclusive take-home prop.
