Whenever the desire to go all out and feast makes its presence known, we’re lucky to have a plethora of buffet options within reach.
If it’s dim sum you’re craving for, here’s a spot that surprisingly won’t break the bank — Empire Hotpot & Cantonese Cuisine.
Although the Ngee Ann City restaurant is better known for its hotpot offerings (with premium soup bases and ingredients), they’ve also launched a Dim Sum Buffet with all-you-can-eat dim sum and Cantonese-style dishes.
From now till 31 August 2023, you can enjoy this value-for-money a la carte buffet priced at just S$23.80++ on weekdays (Monday to Friday) and S$28.80++ on Saturdays.
Available only during lunch, the buffet features an array of over 40 dishes and drinks, including the likes of dim sum (steamed and deep-fried), appetisers, porridge and noodles, baked pastries, and assorted beverages.
Dim sum staples such as Soup Dumpling (Xiao Long Bao), Steamed ‘Siew Mai’ with Fish Roe, and Traditional Steamed Pork Char Siew Bun, and Freshly-Made Rice Rolls are joined by slightly more fusion items like Deep-Fried Beancurd Skin Roll with Seaweed, Pan-Seared Chilli Crab Bun, and Sichuan Spicy Chicken.
Feel free to load up on carbs (though not too much) in the form of Century Egg Lean Pork Porridge, Braised Beef Brisket Noodles, and Garlic Pork Rib Dry Noodles.
Don’t forget to save some room for Honey Butter Toast (there’s even a Pork Floss version), Bolo Bun with Butter, and Baked Egg Tarts — perfect for those with no Hong Kong travel plans (yet).
And lastly, wash everything down with beverages like old-school HK Milk Tea, Iced Lychee Aloe Vera Green Tea, Iced Blended Red Bean with Ice Cream, and many more.
Do note that there is a minimum of two diners for the buffet, and wastage will be charged as per a la carte pricing, so order wisely!
