Fico, a casual Italian restaurant, is taking things up a notch this F1 season at Tanjong Beach Club, bringing race week to the sand with a specially curated menu, Circuit Soleil, from 8 to 11 October. We put the “grand” in Grand Prix (and in flavour); here are some dishes that will rev up your appetite!
From the paddock to your plate, we started with their Tuna Tartare (S$26), a brilliant summertime appetiser made with fresh tuna, sun-dried tomatoes, trout roe, and a refreshing dressing. If raw isn’t calling your name, the Fritto Misto (S$30) offers a mix of cooked seafood, with Calamari, Prawns, and Snapper.
Shift gears and try something new: the Barbecued Cauliflower (S$26) that’s also vegetarian-friendly. This was one of our favourite sides, packed with umami flavours and dressed up with saffron aioli and hazelnuts. It was truly unforgettable that I almost had the whole plate to myself.
Talk about podium-worthy: their signature Charcoal-grilled Octopus (S$38) was smoked to perfection, with no brakes on the flavour. Each bite had a nice char, and the best part of the Octopus was the ends, so good that even Kimi Antonelli would agree that it’s delizioso.
Put the pedal to the metal (fork) and dig into the main event, the Paccheri (S$42). An impressive seafood wonderland coated in a rich tomato-based sauce that will warm your belly up. Another championship-worthy pasta is the elegant Pappardelle (S$32), with ragu of beef, pork, and lamb. These plates are great for sharing among 2 to 3 pax.
The finish line never tasted so good with Fico’s Tiramisu (S$18). Don’t feel obligated to share this one because it is creamy, rich, and best enjoyed solo.
