Feeling jealous from seeing your friends gallivanting through the bistros and museums of France but couldn’t find the time to get out? We feel you, that’s why we’re looking for places to get affordable and authentic French cafe fare in Singapore and we’re excited to hear that The French Fold is opening a second outlet at Orchard.
Known to be one of the few places that specialise in authentic French crepes, you’d find soft crepes made upon order on hot girdles using their secret buckwheat flour recipe. French Fold is run by the same people behind French cafe hotspot Merci Marcel, which also has an Orchard outlet right next door, so you know you’re in for a good time.
If you’re looking to try some of their crepes, now’s your chance — they are offering 50% discounts for the food during the pre-launch of their new outlet if you book a table at their site.
All you gotta do is make a booking, turn up for your reservation at the new French Fold Orchard outlet, then do a quick questionnaire after your meal to enjoy 50% off. Slots are limited so get them while they last!
For those that weren’t aware, crepes actually come in savoury options called galettes and they are generally soft and gently crispy on the outside.
Some hearty combos you can get at French Fold’s Orchard outlet include the classic No. 04 (S$17), a sizeable galette loaded with the umami richness of ham chiffonade, sauteed mushrooms, Comte cheese, and a sunny side up.
Looking for something more unique? They’ve also put out local-inspired spins like No. 11 (S$17) with satay chicken and No. 12 (S$17) with masala chicken.
Ultimately though, most of us prefer crepes as desserts — can you really beat the allure of silky soft crepes finished with some decadent sweet sauces? If that’s the case for you, your sweet tooth will be spoiled by the crepe options at French Fold including Valrhona Chocolate 70% (S$9) as well as a White Chocolate with Speculoos Biscuit (S$11) for avid speculoos lovers.
Another one of our favourites at the OG outlet is the No. 21 (S$12) that comes decorated with orange and dark chocolate sorbet for a nice mix of richness and citrus, so keep your eyes peeled for that too if you decide to head down to French Fold’s Orchard outlet. With 50% off, these are all pretty worth it.
