Time to let it go for the first time in forever at the lauded Broadway hit now coming to Singapore — Frozen The Musical.
Produced by Disney Theatrical Productions (which also produced other Broadway hits like The Lion King and Aladdin) and presented by Base Entertainment Asia, this star-studded performance will hit our sunny island’s shores on 5 February 2023.
The tour will feature its cast from the Australian production with Jenna Rix as Elsa, Courtney Monsma as Anna, and Matt Lee as Olaf, just to name a few members from the cast. You might even recognize a few of these actors in different musicals like Wicked, Six, and more!
If you haven’t watched the movie, why not start with the musical? Even if you’re new to Frozen, the musical retells the story of the movie, so you won’t miss out on anything!
Frozen’s journey sweeps audiences up into the thrilling world of Arendelle, setting the stage for sisters Elsa and Anna’s dramatic tale based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Snow Queen. While it does feature true love, the story has become beloved around the world for breaking the trope of princesses needing to be saved by a prince, instead, focusing on the bond of two sisters who come to understand each other.
With over 400 costumes, including Elsa’s jewel-encrusted ice dress that she transforms into during ‘Let it Go’, and Anna’s iconic ‘Love is an Open Door’ outfit from the animated film, the musical pays homage to the movie while livening it up with some fresh new numbers.
The stage production features a full score, including 12 new songs (we’re excited!) from the original Academy Award-winning songwriters written especially for the stage. The 140-minute musical will play at the Sands Theatre, and is a treat for children and adults alike. Tickets can be booked on Sistic, so get yours now before they sell out!
