Many of us love to indulge in pastries and bakes but they’re not the cheapest form of sustenance. And maybe that’s why Headless Baker at Ghim Moh became so popular — their scones and tea cakes start at just S$2 each.

Not only are they affordable, but they are also gorgeous IG-worthy eye candy too. Now Headless Baker is amping up on their aesthetics and opening a swanky new outlet at Star Vista.

Unlike the hawker stall at Ghim Moh, this new Star Vista outlet will be featuring a wider range of bakes focusing on flaky French treats such as croissants and cruffins.

Rest assured your tastebuds are in good hands since the owners had previous experience with patisseries in Melbourne as well as popular sourdough bakery Starter Lab.

Whereas their humble Ghim Moh shop is just simple and functional, Headless Baker’s Star Vista outlet sports a sleek blend of minimalism and retro vibes.

A counter plastered with vintage-looking tiles takes centerstage, overlooking the exposed concrete floor and elevated sitting area. Feels like a good spot to chill over some coffee and tea cakes when dining is allowed again.

Some of the flaky pastries Headless Baker has at the new Star Vista outlet include Plain Croissants (S$4), Almond Croissants (S$4.50), and Chocolate Croissants (S$5).

Or if you’re someone who bought into the cruffin hype and prefer them muffin shaped, you can also get some Cruffins (S$4.50) instead.

For something with a little more bite and a smidgen more sweetness to your bakes, the Carrot Cakes (S$5) and Caneles (S$3) will be right up your alley.

While Headless Baker will not feature their popular teacakes at Star Vista, you can still drop by their Ghim Moh outlet which isn’t far away.

They’re known for their affordable Scones at just S$2 and intricately-made tea cakes starting from S$2. The tea cakes come in a wide range of flavours including Banana (S$2), Lemon Pistachio (S$3) and Dalgona Coffee (S$3).

If neither the Star Vista nor Ghim Moh outlets are convenient, you can also snag some of Headless Baker’s bakes through Pickupp with S$5.90 islandwide delivery. One of their most popular items is the Elegant Box (S$16) that’s packed with 5 gorgeous bakes.

Your IG feed will welcome the dainty Lemon Pistachio Teacake (S$3) adorned with rose petals, along with the fragrant Earl Grey Lavender Teacake (S$3) and Pandan Gula Melaka Teacake (S$2).

Besides tea cakes, the box also includes a Matcha Financier (S$4) and a Hojicha Financier (S$4) that matcha and tea lovers will fawn over.

You can also place pre-orders at 9740 0538 if you need a quick grab-and-go and don’t want to risk anything selling out.
