You can eat your breakfast in a stranger’s frontyard at this home-based cafe with old-school delights from S$1.60 like Kopi, Teh O, Milo Dinosaur, Horlick, Mochi Brownie, Egg Tart and more

Ever had kopi in a stranger’s front yard?

Okay, maybe I’ve done it once (don’t ask), but it’s not every day you get to sip kopi in someone’s actual front yard… unless you’re at Knead Kopi, a home-based cafe in Bukit Timah that’s bringing old-school vibes back in the most nostalgic way possible.

Nestled right in front of a couple’s home (yup, doxxing won’t work on them), Knead Kopi is open day and night, serving up classic kopitiam-style drinks and snacks.

It’s a whole retro vibe with the setting. Camping chairs, foldable tables, and a whole lot of cosiness. If you’re planning to drop by, you might want to bring a portable fan. It’s all outdoors, after all.

You’ll find all your kopitiam staples starting from just S$1.60Kopi O, Kopi, Kopi C, Teh O, Teh, Teh C, Horlicks, Milo, Milo Dinosaur, and more. The list goes on, and honestly, it’s kind of refreshing to see such OG prices in 2025.

If you’re feeling peckish, their tea-time set available from 3pm to 6.30pm is a steal at S$5.80, which gets you any drink and a brownie.

Or go all out with Set One (S$8.50), which comes with three slices of baguette with homemade kaya, two soft-boiled eggs, and a drink. I mean, it’s basically the ultimate Singaporean breakfast.

Their Egg Tart (S$2.50) has a buttery, flaky crust and smooth, velvety egg custard. It’s apparently so good that multiple people were carting away entire boxes of them.

Another winner is their Mochi Brownie (S$5), a rich chocolatey treat with a chewy mochi base. A pretty fun twist on your usual brownie.

To keep things exciting, Knead Kopi also switches up their menu weekly. One of their previous specials was Curry Chicken, which, from the reviews, looked seriously decadent.

If you’re in the area, we think this cosy little cafe is definitely worth a visit. It’s a tad out of the way for most of us, situated an eight-minute walk from Tan Kah Kee MRT.
