If munching on a snack while shopping for home goods is your idea of multitasking, this 2-in-1 furniture store and bakery will be right up your alley. My Selection is a homegrown lifestyle concept store in Farrer Park, and they’ve got a little cafe corner serving French pastries — La Petite Boulangerie.
If you’ve walked past a row of colourful chairs (the Luxembourg Low Armchair, to be specific) along Marne Road, chances are you’ve stumbled upon My Selection.
The IG-worthy physical concept store presents a curated selection of quirky lifestyle pieces from both international and local designers. From colour-coordinated dinnerware to Balinese-inspired rattan furniture, you’re likely to find something that will bring some flair and colour into your home.
Mini French bakery
If you need a midday pick-me-up (because we all know shopping can be exhausting), simply grab a pastry or two from the boulangerie.
The display houses a small selection of French pastries like the quintessential Croissants and Escargot (S$5.50), which are available in flavours like Coconut Gula Melaka and Vanilla Raisins.
They are also the first in Singapore to sell the merveilleux, a meringue sandwich cookie with its origins in Belgium and the North of France.
The uncommonly found Merveilleux (S$9) comes in assorted flavours that rotate daily, but you can expect the likes of cheesecake, hazelnut praline, and coconut kaya, just to name a few.
Shopping for my dream home with a merveilleux in hand? Sounds like a great way to spend a lazy afternoon.
