One of China’s top BBQ restaurants has come to Singapore, and Meow Barbeque is known for its good food, and cat-themed concept. Cats are not only adorable, but also said to bring good fortune, and the restaurant is filled with cat decor, from the facade to the plates – and there’s even a cute cat zodiac wall.
The Bugis+ outlet will be the chain’s first restaurant outside of China, giving us the opportunity to try this unique BBQ concept!
The dishes are plated aesthetically, with dry ice creating a smoky effect and beef tucked in onion arranged in a flower pattern. Take your pick from various sauces such as Grapefruit, Japanese-style Sauce, Thai Sour & Spicy Sauce, and more.
You can expect savoury BBQ dishes such as juicy Meow Signature Beef Cubes with Onion (from S$10.80), which melt in your mouth with the flavours of marinated beef cubes in oyster sauce and served on onion petals, and for the spice lovers, the Meow Signature Chicken with Szechuan Peppers (S$14.80), with a secret signature chilli mix that will bring the heat.
The restaurant’s star dish is the Meow Signature Spicy Beef (S$23.80), which features grain-fed 129 day-old sliced beef marinated with pickled chillies, which sizzles to an explosion of flavour.
If you can’t get enough of the dishes, try the Meow Signature Mixed Beef Platter (S$66.80), which lets you sample the best cuts and is great for couple sharing.
Other items to look forward to include the Iberico Pork Belly with Garlic (S$19.80), Meow Signature Chicken with Cheese Dip (S$15.80), and Rose Beef Tongue (S$25.80), all of which await to be barbecued to juicy, smoky perfection.
Don’t miss the restaurant’s cat-themed desserts either, which are shaped like adorable cat paws and cat ears. Their pastel desserts will definitely brighten your social feeds and the cute White Cat Snow Ice (S$10.80) even has a quirky shovel spoon to go with it, and a cat paw to top it off.
As part of the restaurant’s opening promotion, you can also get 50% off their Spicy Beef and Chicken with Cheese from 24– 30 September. And if you join as a member, you’ll get special perks and adorable door gifts. While Meow Barbeque officially opens on 24 September 2022, they currently have a limited soft-opening with 30 tables per day until 23 September 2022.
