Hate sharing hotpot with friends and family? Can’t get enough of individual single-serving hotpots that don’t require fishing for “lost or stolen” ingredients?
It’s high time you got your fix at Zi Bu Yang Sheng (滋补养生小火锅, Nourishing Mini Hotpot) in Jurong!

Tucked away on the second level of Taman Jurong Food Centre, this fairly popular hawker stall specialises in incredibly affordable mini Chinese-style hotpots for one.

There are six set meals featuring different proteins to choose from, all of which are priced below S$8 — Pork (S$5.50), Chicken (S$5.50), Prawn (S$6), Fish (S$6), Beef (S$7), and Mutton (S$7).
Hotpot from just S$5.50? Who would’ve thought?

Aside from your preferred protein, each set also comes with cabbage, leafy greens, enoki mushrooms, crabstick, sausages, vermicelli, rice or instant noodles, and an egg, with the option of topping up for extra ingredients. Don’t forget to get a saucer of addictive chilli on the side!
You can choose to cook ’em in your choice of Herbal, Spicy (mala), Tom Yum, or chicken-based Normal Soup. Soup bases are not refillable, by the way.

Many seem to particularly enjoy the fragrant and subtly sweet herbal broth, that’s best enjoyed on days when you’re feeling down.

Do remember that the stall is run by just one man, so be prepared to queue and exercise a little patience, especially during peak hours.
So the next time your hotpot cravings arise, why not head down to 滋补养生小火锅 for a comforting meal that’s both easy on the stomach and wallet?
