It’s time to bid farewell to 2022 and usher in the new year with yet another month of festive feasting (hello, Chinese New Year). We may have seen plenty of bazaars and night markets over the past six months, but they’re showing no sign of stopping.
Calling all Old Chang Kee fans — the homegrown brand is jumping on the bazaar bandwagon (after a two-year hiatus) with its very own Old Chang Kee Festive Bazaar, from now till 20 January 2023!
The bazaar, which was last held in 2020, typically takes place at Old Chang Kee HQ in Woodlands, during the period leading to Chinese New Year.
Visitors can expect to soak in the convivial vibes and take their pick from an array of stalls selling hot food, snacks, tidbits, and frozen food. There is also plenty of seating available, so feel free to dine in and enjoy your food on the spot!
Make a beeline for the Old Chang Kee mobile food truck, where you can find all-time favourite snacks like the iconic curry puffs, fishballs, and chicken wings.
One of the most popular limited-edition items, the Mushroom Chicken O’ (a perennial favourite of some) has also made a comeback. It is finally getting a well-deserved spot on the permanent menu, but we urge you to get your hands on some before they sell out!
Those seeking something a little more substantial can head to the O’den Stall, a new addition to the bazaar. Choose from a selection of ingredients like Sea Urchin Ball, Cheezy Chicken Sausage, Fishball with Fish Roe, and many more, alongside a broth of your choice: chicken, tom yum, or curry.
You can also find a hearty selection of signature dishes from sister brand Curry Times, like Curry Chicken, Blue Pea Nasi Lemak, and Dry Laksa Goreng, as well as Western food like Baked Chicken and Fish & Chips.
Hosting guests for Chinese New Year? Head to the dedicated Frozen Food section, where you can pick up frozen goods like chicken wings, sotong balls, mini curry puffs, and even mini black sesame balls.
And of course, an exciting selection of tidbits and goodies (pineapple tarts, anyone?) await!
The bazaar is free to enter, but do note that each stall may have its own individual timing of operating hours.
