Those who’ve recently travelled to Korea (or use TikTok on the regular) would’ve probably heard of or even visited DON’T LXXK UP, a unique self-photo studio located in Yeonnam-dong, Seoul.
Unmanned and open 24/7 (like the majority of photo studios in Korea), it sees crowds lining up to take their photos from a wide, top-down angle, akin to that of the “Gen Z 0.5 selfie”.
Despite being extremely camera-shy, I did make it a point to visit DON’T LXXK UP on my recent trip to Seoul.
Finding the right poses while being counted down (ten seconds per shot is not enough) was a struggle, but I was able to get out of my comfort zone, and the photos turned out well (making me look cooler than I actually am…)!
And soon, you’ll be able to do the same a little closer to home, at One Click Studio in Haji Lane.
On 4 June 2023, the self-photo studio announced on TikTok that they’ll be launching their first-ever concept booth, a wide-angle photobooth which takes photos from that highly-coveted top-down angle.
Whether you visit on your own or with a small group of friends, you’ll be able to experiment with different poses, choose your desired filters and frames, and go home with stunning photo strips priced at just S$10 each!

This exciting new concept is currently in its soft launch phase — from now till 30 June 2023 (with the exception of 11 to 13 June), all you need to do is book any package via One Click Studio’s website to get a complimentary wide-angle booth session! The S$10 pricing will only be available from July, but you can stay tuned to their socials for more updates.
We can foresee even more self-photo studios in Singapore jumping on this wide-angle, top-down trend, so get ready to ramp up the confidence, channel your inner baddie (or whatever vibe you wish to give off), and take all the photos you want!
