Here’s a quaint, up-and-coming spot you may have seen on TikTok. Nestled along the Kallang Rover is Raw Kitchen Bar, a bar and restaurant with an intimate alfresco setting that’ll make you feel like you’re not in Singapore.

Having started as a passion project in a backroom of the old Bukit Timah fire station, Raw Kitchen Bar has evolved into a rustic outdoor garden dining concept that celebrates the realness and rawness of being present.

The restaurant encourages diners to “escape the hustle and bustle of Singapore’s concrete jungle and be whisked away to our vibrant oasis”. With a rustic, dreamy ambience like this, it’s hard not to (the fairy lights alone are easy to fawn over).

French, Italian, Thai, and Mediterranean accents are peppered throughout the menu, which has heavy Modern Asian and South American influences. All in all, its comfort food with complex, punchy flavours that’ll easily satiate your palate.

Be transported to Bali with the Warung Pork Ribs (S$27), coated in a smoky Balinese BBQ glaze, or the signature Black Mamba (S$28), squid ink fried rice, tiger prawns, and fermented sambal topped with an egg yolk.

What’s a good dinner without a couple of drinks? The cocktail menu features curious yet comforting concoctions brimming with earthy, tropical flavours. Ring in Sangria Sundays with the RKB Jungle Juice (S$20), or light up your palate with the tom yum-infused Khun Mary (S$21). Don’t mind if I do.

Visit on the weekends for a leisurely brunch of Salmon Mentaiko Toast (S$20), Corn Fritters (S$18), and Creamy Scrambled Eggs (S$24) dressed with black truffles and king oyster mushrooms.

Raw Kitchen Bar has also recently revamped its brunch menu to feature more vegetarian sharing plates, alongside a monthly plant-forward vegetarian series, Where the Wild Things Are.
