Here’s one for the easties — tucked away at 7 Stars Coffee Shop in Bedok Industrial Park is Hae! Prawn Claypot, a stall opened by the folks behind popular hawker chains Bai Nian and Shi Nian.

You won’t find any yong tau foo or pig leg rice here though, just bubbling pots of prawns cooked over charcoal.

Every order starts off with a pot of Specialty Prawn Broth (S$28.80), which sees eight jumbo-sized tiger prawns in a rich and comforting broth that practically screams “umami”.

Then, choose from an array of over 40 ingredients at prices starting from S$0.80. If you’d like to take the seafood hotpot experience to the next level, why not order all the Signature Prawn Paste (S$10.80), Fish Maw (S$8.80), Handmade Fish Paste Stuffed Ring Roll (S$6.80), and Handmade Fish Dumplings (S$8.80) you want?

Afterwards, supplement the stock with your choice of meats, vegetables, and carbs like Signature Marinated Beef (S$9.80), Handmade Pork Paste (S$9.80), Superior Golden Fungus (S$8.80), Cheese Pork Ball (S$6.80), Wantons (S$6.80), Glass Noodle (S$0.80) and so much more.

Feel free to help yourself to the selection of condiments, all free-flow of course. Spice lovers are in for a real treat, with all the different types of chilli available, ranging from Lemongrass Chilli and Fragrant Chilli to the signature Hae! Chilli and Bai Nian Chilli.

But that’s not all, as you can also fill up on unlimited refills of prawn and collagen broth — the latter will probably come in handy when the prawn broth starts feeling too jelak.

If you’ve got the feels to munch on something fried, why not order a round of sides like Fried Chicken Wing (S$1.60 for min. 2 pcs) and Fried Golden Roll (Hae Zho, S$7)?

There’s even Hae Mee (S$9.80), Hae!’s take on the traditional Hokkien mee topped generously with tiger prawns and lots of crunchy pork lard.

Finally, those with a second “dessert stomach” can end off with the DIY Smores Kit (S$9.80), which comes with crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows to be roasted over the charcoal stove. Very cute.
