The year only just started, but I’m already in desperate need of a getaway, even if it’s just a short one — if you feel the same way, look no further than The Yanné, Onsen Hotel

Located just a short six-minute drive from the famed Genting Skyworlds Theme Park and Sky Avenue Mall, this hot spring-themed hotel lies about 1800 metres above sea level. With all its Japanese-inspired decor, you’re bound to feel as though you’ve stepped into the Land of the Rising Sun itself — without spending a bomb on plane tickets.

The onsens aren’t just IG-worthy either — the water is actually rich in beneficial minerals since it comes from the Highland runoff and is kept at a toasty 40 to 42 degrees.

I’ve always wanted to bring my partner to unwind in a spa, but most of these areas tend to be gender-segregated. However, all the pools at the hotel are actually mixed-gender onsens, so it’s the perfect time to relax with your boo. If you’re planning to bring your family, rest assured that the onsens require all guests to wear swimsuits!

Once you’ve chosen your Yukata and showered at the seated bathing area, head over to the five different Muslim-friendly pools. Get accustomed to the temperature in the wading pool, treat your aching muscles to a massage in the jacuzzi, and lounge around in the Sakura Pool which boasts an infinite flow of underground mineral-filled water.

After that, enjoy a dip in the Micro Nano Bubble Pool for some deep pore core cleansing and revitalisation. The generator is specially imported from Japan, and also emits ultrasonic waves that re-energise your tired body. Japan really is living in 2050!

If you’re a couch potato like me, you’ll love this one — the Zaizu Pool helps increase both your heart rate and boosts metabolism (Cardio? Never heard of her!), so you’ll be able to enjoy the cool mountain air while relaxing in the warm water.

Tempted to make a trip down? You’ll be delighted to know how affordable their amenities are. It’s 188RM (~S$57) for an hour in the onsen, and better yet, 868RM (~$263) for a four-hour package for two people! That comes to just S$131 per pax, and includes an hour of onsen time, another hour of sauna access with a tea set of imported halal goodies (hojicha, mochi and more), and a two-hour full body massage that includes a herbal foot bath. Talk about full-body rejuvenation!

For those who wish to stay in the hotel as well, room-only rates start from an affordable 353RM (~S$107) per night, while you can snag a stay inclusive of onsen access from just 548RM (~S$166) per night.
