by Marcus Leong

Are you a lover of ghost stories and supernatural activity? Do you dare to visit haunted places (legally, of course)? If your answer to both those questions was a resounding “YES”, we might have something that might pique your interest. The folks at Supernatural Confessions are organising a walking tour — Walk With Hantu: Changi that will take you through some haunted places in Singapore.

This run of the tour will take you through some iconic and spooky spots in Changi. You can expect to visit places like the coastal kampong and the old British military building, to the infamous Old Changi Hospital and Changi Beach. You’ll also be introduced to locations where supernatural encounters have been known to occur and the “hiding places” of some dark urban legends.

Most of the contents covered on the tour are based on the two hosts sharing their first-hand accounts of their own supernatural encounters. The creepy tales are woven together with Changi’s history, so you’ll learn a lot about Changi as well as get a dose of Asian supernatural logic — superstition, fact, or fiction? We’ll leave you to decide for yourself.

Along the way, the hosts will also slip in some grandmothers’ tales, urban legends, and even real confessions on topics black magic, and even suicide pacts. If you love watching horror films, you might be familiar with some of these.

But of course, the tour is not complete without talking about the beings that haunt our shoreline as well as the many “residents” of Old Changi Hospital — get ready for some spooky tales that will send chills down your spine. Based on some of the reviews online, some people have had a personal encounter while attending the tour — and you could be next.

In case you’re wondering, you don’t have to be a hardcore lover of ghost stories or supernatural activity — although some interest or curiosity in this field would certainly make the tour more interesting. But if you’re hoping for this to be some gimmicky ghost hunting adventure, this might not be it for you.

The tour keeps the group size intimate and encourages you to get involved by sharing your memories of Changi as well as personal supernatural encounters. If you’re interested, you can sign up for the tour here. You’ll be notified on what to bring, wear, and the meeting location after you have signed up.

Tourists can also take part in this tour to uncover a different side of Singapore, while learning some historical facts about our sunny island and different cultural beliefs. All things considered, it’s definitely a one-of-a-kind tour that is both thrilling and informative.

Are you brave enough for an evening of thrilling tales and spooky stories?
