Dear fellow Potterheads,

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.

Ever hoped to receive this letter? Well, this is your chance to step into the wizarding world and live your Hogwarts dreams. If you haven’t already heard, a Harry Potter theme park is opening in Japan on 16 June 2023!

Warner Bros Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter is built on the site of the former Toshimaen park, and is set to be the largest indoor Harry Potter attraction in the world (yes, even bigger than the one in London).

The tour will take you behind the scenes of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, inviting you to experience first-hand how the movies were brought to life on screen. You’ll get to participate in a range of interactive activities like travelling on the Hogwarts Express to the famous wizarding school, seeing yourself as a moving portrait, and even stepping into the crowd of a Quidditch match — need I say more?

Visitors will also be able to step into iconic film sets like the Great Hall of Hogwarts, Platform 9 ¾, the Forbidden Forest and so much more. For instance,  the set of the Forbidden Forest was designed to appear like a normal forest from the outside, but becomes more intimidating and magical the further you travel — and you’ll even see key moments from the films.

While they’re not the original sets used in the actual movie making, these were hand-crafted by filmmakers and created using the same techniques. This is as close as it gets, folks!

NGL, Hermione’s Yule Ball dress was all I could think about after watching Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire (it was giving cottagecore, if I may). If you can relate, you’ll be delighted to know that there’ll be various costumes and props, and even sets that are exclusive to Tokyo’s studio tour.

To complete your experience, you can also get wizarding-themed sweet treats like chocolate frogs, butterbeer, and more. For more (muggle) food, there will also be a selection of food with a British twist at the Food Hall.

Be sure to get all your merch at the world’s largest Harry Potter shop as well — it carries items you won’t find anywhere else! Ticket sales for the Warner Bros Studio Tour Tokyo start on 22 March 2023 and cost around S$63 (6,300 yen) for adults on the official website. Alternatively, you can also book your tickets via Klook here. Plus, you won’t even have to worry about having to fight your way through crowds (as with most theme parks), because tickets have specific time slots to follow.
