You’ve probably heard of Blackpink, Big Bang and 2NE1 — but what if there’s a chance for you to become the next international sensation just like them?
From today until 23 October 2022, Korean entertainment giant YG Entertainment (who have also honed KPOP groups like iKon, Winner and more other than the above-mentioned) will be opening the registrations for their Singapore auditions.
The first round of auditions after the registrations are completed will be held from 8 to 11 November 2022, and if you’re good enough to be the few that pass the round, the second round of auditions will be held on 25 and 26 November 2022. That gives you just about a month from now to practice your moves until the first round!
As for what you have to do during the audition, it’s fairly simple — choose a category between vocals, rap and dance (remember to pick only one!) and show them what you’ve got within one minute. If you’re rapping or singing, you’ll have to do it without any music. For those that are dancing, you will be allowed background music.
While many of us would love to grab hold of this rare opportunity, only people born between 2003 and 2012 are eligible to register for the auditions. That means that 10-year-olds will be able to register and choose one category – vocal, rap, or dance.
For those who apply under vocal or rap, you will have to prepare a song to sing or rap within a minute without music, and those who apply under the dance category will have to prepare a dance to one song within a minute with music!
For those under 13 years of age, you will require a guardian to consent to your application (there will be an option available on the registration form).
