YouTrip is now giving users S$10 cash back when you spend S$50 on online shopping

There’s a good chance you’ve used YouTrip if you’ve travelled within the past couple of years — it being the convenient, fuss-free multi-currency wallet that it is.

No seriously, I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve saved when I spent with my YouTrip card overseas with its great exchange rates.

And with online shopping taking over the internet, I don’t see any reason you can’t chalk up the savings even when spending in foreign currencies at international online stores like Taobao, Amazon, and ASOS.

From now until 28 February 2022, YouTrip is offering their users an eye-popping cash back of S$10 with a minimum online spending of S$50, and an even more arresting S$50 cash back when you spend S$500. How do you qualify? You’ll just have to register for the promotion, and check out at the online store and pay with your YouTrip card in a foreign currency other than SGD.

Of course, Taobao needs no introduction — the e-commerce giant practically holds the key to anything and everything the average household could want. From appliances and clothes to decor and gifts, there’s almost nothing you can’t purchase off Taobao, and that says a lot for our consumerist selves.

Shopping on a Chinese-heavy site might be daunting for many (especially myself, who’d hardly qualify as a Chinese speaker despite ten years of second language education), but that’s why comprehensive shopping guides like these exist, so you’ve got a step-by-step handbook to walk you through your purchase from start to finish.

It’s not uncommon to find dresses, tees, shoes, and even whole outfits if you look hard enough, under S$10 on Taobao. This means that your next shopping haul or retail therapy session doesn’t have to cost a good chunk of your paycheck — get the same kick of ordering a whole host of items at just a fraction of the cost, and now made even cheaper with S$10 cash back.
Alternatively, let me point you in the direction of ASOS, the land of size-inclusive apparel that’s also almost guaranteed to have a style for any personality, preference, and palate. Home to over 850 brands, ASOS can be thought of as the world’s marketplace for fashion with worldwide delivery that’s faster than you can say, “add to cart”.

Shop international brands such as Miss Selfridge, Revolution Beauty, Adidas, Calvin Klein, The North Face, Nike, and many more for your gifting needs, or simply a long-overdue wardrobe overhaul. The best part probably comes by way of free international returns, so if you change your mind or if something doesn’t fit, at least you can take comfort in the fact that you’re not stuck with a purchase that you can’t use.

If Taobao is China’s e-commerce gift to the world, then Amazon is the American equivalent. Aside from the usual home appliances and electronics, you’ll also be able to sort out your groceries and health needs right here — literally anything from A to Z, as their slogan so aptly sums up.

Plus, with an Amazon prime membership, you’ll not only enjoy preferential, sometimes free, delivery rates, early access deals, and of course, exclusive TV shows, movies, and games. Here’s an ultimate guide to shopping on Amazon to maximise your buck, no matter your purchase.

Last things to note before your cash back makes its way to you? Be sure to make your transactions on your YouTrip card by 28 February 2022. You’ll qualify for either S$10 cash back if you’re within the first 3,500 shoppers, or S$50 cash back if amongst the first 100.
