Indulge in affordable halal Japanese fusion curry rice topped with panko chicken, pineapple satay sauce & more from just S$8.90

If there’s one thing Singaporeans love, it’s curry. Add anything Japanese-inspired to the mix, and we have a sure-win combo — which is precisely what Abang Curry offers. Intrigued yet? Both East and West siders will be delighted to find that Abang Curry has two branches — one at JEM’s food court and another at Bedok South Horizon’s kopitiam

One look at their halal-certified menu is certainly enough to make your mouth water. You’ll find a large variety of deep-fried and grilled meats, like salmon, chicken, and more. As if that weren’t tantalising enough, you can even choose from three different types of sauces (instead of the usual two options: curry or no curry) — lemak sauce, pineapple satay sauce and nanyang curry!

Popular dishes include the Panko Chicken Rice (S$8.90), Charcoal Grilled Chicken Rice (S$8.90) and Charcoal Grilled Salmon Rice (S$10.90)

Although deep-fried chicken can be dry if not prepared well, the stall’s panko chicken is crispy on the outside with juicy and tender meat. Paired with their signature Nanyang curry, the plate defo packs a flavour-filled punch. Plus, they’re really generous with their portions. Talk about getting your money’s worth!

Looking for something less spicy? Their coconut-based lemak sauce is creamy and fragrant while the pineapple satay sauce is on the sweeter and nuttier side.

Patrons also rave about the grilled salmon, which boasts perfectly charred skin and flaky soft and pink flesh — sounds like perfection to me. If you can’t decide between the two proteins, opt for the Charcoal Grilled Chicken & Salmon Rice (S$15.90) that has the best of both worlds.

If you’re just popping by for a snack, you can get Chicken Wings (S$6.90/3pcs), Begedil Panko (S$4.90/3pcs), Cheese Sticks (S$4.90) and so much more. They even have oh-so crispy and flaky Curry Puffs (S$2/pc) that come in three flavours.

The next time a curry craving hits, be sure to head down to either of Abang Curry’s outlets!
