8 new Adidas YEEZYs to launch by March, 1 now available in SG

by Natalie Lim

The limited-edition drop of the Adidas YEEZY Bred 350 in Singapore, 2020, was a day to remember. It seemed like the virus had dissipated when hundreds of people fought their fear of the pandemic, just to queue outside Orchard Central’s Foot Locker.

All for a chance to lay their hands on the bespoke sneakers.

Safe distancing ambassadors and the police eventually chased our sneaker-lovers away, and Foot Locker had to be shut down for 10 days, but the love for Adidas YEEZY burns passionately strong—to date, the sneaker remains as staple streetwear for any Hypebeast.

And now, there are reports of 8 new Adidas YEEZY styles that are ready to launch this March 2021.

First to launch would be the YZY BSKTBL “QNTM” model (S$400), which is now available for sale at the Adidas online store. The “QNTM” features a monochromatic colourway, consisting of greys, blacks, whites and silvers throughout the sneaker.

The QNTM is a performance-orientated sneaker for basketball fans, and like all other YZY BSKTBL sneakers, is equipped with a full-length enclosed BOOST midsole, giving you more bounce in each step.

A completely new model, the YEEZY 450 “Cloud White” (USD$200) follows up next. Formerly known as the YEEZY 451, its design has been heavily anticipated over the years due to its outer space sole unit, which gives the sneaker a sock-like structure.

Whether the shoes make it to the fashion runway remains for debate, but we do know that the off-white sneakers come with an eggshell white EVA foam sole,  a “rubber-like” base that boosts softness and flexibility. Though not available in Singapore yet, it is expected to arrive sometime in fall 2021.

For those who prefer something more basic, there’s the Adidas’ YEEZY BOOST 700 V2 “Cream” (USD$300). The shoe sports a colour block of creams, whites and greys, mated to an ice-white midsole and jet black outsole.

The “Cream”, like many other models in the YEEZY 700 family, features a full-length enclosed BOOST midsole.

But perhaps the most controversial pair to look out for would be Adidas’ YEEZY FOAM RNNR “Sand” (USD$80), a sandy brown clog. The leak of its design stole the crown for “The Craziest Shoe of 2019”, and it’s really not hard to see why.

The shoe is made entirely out of an algae-based foam and has many perforations for breathability—very much like Crocs.

Coupled along with it is the YEEZY FOAM RNNR “MXT Moon Gray” (USD$80), which features a sandstone colour around its base, blending into a moonrock grey at its top.

Other launches include the YEEZY BOOST 380 “Covellite” (USD$230), YZY QNTM “Sea Teal” (USD$250),  YEEZY BOOST 350 V2 “Ash Pearl” (USD$220) and YEEZY 700 V3 “Kyanite” (USD$200).

New launches by end of March

Currently, only the YZY BSKTBL “QNTM” model (S$400) is available for sale online in Singapore, but we’re expecting the rest to launch by the end of March 2021.

Let’s hope that the authorities don’t come knocking on our poor sneaker stores during its launch.
