Breakfast, as many say, is the most important meal of the day, and Dempsey Hill restaurant AIR CCCC is taking it extra seriously. So much so that you can rise and shine (more like dine) with their all-new indoor and outdoor breakfast concepts called SUNRISE.
When you arrive, you’ll be greeted with a sprawling green lawn dotted with colourful outdoor seating and umbrellas.
This pet-friendly lawn area is perfect for al-fresco dining and soaking in the sunrise.
As for the interior, it’s an open concept. The restaurant is dressed with wooden furnishings, an open bar, and a kitchen, with floor-to-ceiling windows to let light and stunning lawn views in.
No matter where you sit, ample lighting and a great time are guaranteed.
Now let’s get to what you came here for – the food.
You can choose from three categories.
Items in the Breakfast selection include Annie’s Yogurt (S$10), Overnight Oats (S$10) the Fresh Fruit Plate (S$10), and the Kimchi Grilled Cheese (S$12).
As for heartier options, check out the Eggs selection featuring Indonesian Avocado Toast (S$20), Fermented Potato Croquette (S$18), and Smoked Chicken (S$24).
The Indonesian Avocado Toast has a twist on the classic cafe staple, and that is the chili crunch finishing. This makes for a bold and fiery layer to contrast the creamy scrambled eggs.
However, the toasted sourdough was a tad too tough. But get to the middle and it’s pretty fluffy so I didn’t mind the extra labour.
The Fermented Potato Croquette stole my heart with its crispy croquette, runny sunny-side-up, chilli jam, and calamansi crème fraîche. This would be in my dreams for days.
Who says breakfast can’t be sweet? From the Bakes section, we got two of them to try out.
The Kenari Nut Sticky Bun (S$6) is nothing short of sticky, buttery, and sweet – a dream come true for any dessert fiend.
The Calamansi Lime Bar (S$6) might be the last thing you think of when it comes to breakfast but trust me when I say it’s a must-try!
The sweet-sour flavour of the citrus custard perfectly pairs with the buttery, crumbly shortbread biscuit bottom. Add the lime cream provided, and you’ll get the ultimate bright and zesty treat I guarantee will brighten your morning.
Other delicious bakes offered are the Chocolate Babka (S$6), Rye Chocolate Cookie (S$4 each or three for S$10), and Red Date Loaf (S$6).
Accompany your breakfast with a brew from the Coffee selection or go for the Tea, Kombucha, or Juice options.
You can opt for the Breakfast Bundle (S$18) if you’re overwhelmed by the choices. This includes your choice of one breakfast dish, bake, and a choice of coffee, tea, or juice.
