It’s official: popular gelato brand Apiary has a new outlet. Ice cream lovers in the North would be excited to hear of the new Apiary Ang Mo Kio outlet. Finally a good ice cream parlour close to home.
What makes it even sweeter is that it’s just a short 5 minute walk from Ang Mo Kio MRT station. It’s located on the exterior of Jubilee Square in a small space.
It’s probably more suitable for takeaway compared to the two-storeyed original outlet.
But unlike the original outlet, the Ang Mo Kio Apiary has a photo wall that would make every instagrammer squeal.
The simple white background features a pastel-coloured Apiary logo and a lush bush of dried lalang at the base. Essentially the perfect “ice-cream-against-the-sign” backdrop, but way more photogenic than the competition.
The menu at the Ang Mo Kio outlet is classic Apiary. The Single Scoops cost S$4.20, Double Scoops S$8, and Triple Scoops go for S$11. Premium scoops cost S$0.50 more, except for their signature Pistachio which costs S$5.
You can find long-time best-sellers like Blue Milk, Apiary, and their Pistachio. The Blue Milk is an interesting lightly salted flavour, while the apiary is a delectable blend of honey and cacao nibs.
Most importantly though, you must get the Pistachio — it’s absurdly rich, creamy, and simply divine.
So, what sets this Ang Mo Kio outlet aprt from OG Apiary? They are making two flavours exclusive to this outlet, namely the Fresh Mint and Fresh Banana.
Chocolate-Mint lovers can get a combo of the Fresh Mint with the thick, luxurious 73% Dark Chocolate to get the best of both worlds.
It’s like a spruced up chocolate-mint with a gentle punch of mint which was so refreshing on the palate. It’s not a new flavour but you can only get it here at Jubilee Square and not at OG Apiary.
However, the small space also means limited seats. Apiary’s shop space itself has just 2 seats inside, while 3 are outside in Jubilee Square. Probably why there are no waffles on the menu.
Instead, if you want something to pair with your waffle, their Brioche Bun (S$3) is the best-seller there — it was sold out when I visited. But you still have the classic Cone (S$1) for those who like it more traditional.
Apiary’s new Ang Mo Kio outlet is a nice little space in Jubilee Square that many would enjoy. Many would particularly adore that stunning photo wall for photo ops.
Above all, it’s a nice location in a part of Singapore devoid of gelato. We already know Apiary’s Ang Mo Kio outlet is gonna be a hit with Northies.
