Say no more, Sengkang residents. The team behind the popular Neil Road cafe The Populus has unveiled their latest cafe concept — Apricus Coffee & Food Co.

As the one and only cafe in the prata-populated Jalan Kayu (for now), Apricus Coffee & Food Co.is already becoming a hit with those in the area.

You can expect an extensive line-up of contemporary all-day brunch fare with Australian, Japanese, and Mediterranean influences.

Crowd favourites include the Populus Fried Chicken Burger (S$20), Tuscan Lamb Harissa Baked Egg (S$22), and THE POPULUS Scramble (S$20), a brunch classic that has been on The Populus’ menu since day one.

Dishes exclusive to Apricus include the Norwegian Salmon Brown Butter Linguine (S$23), THE APRICUS ‘Curry’ Chicken Stew (S$19), and Tempura Shimeiji Mushrooms (S$13).

You’ve probably seen the towering Peanut Butter & Jelly Sundae (S$15, +S$5 for Buttermilk Waffle), as well as its dark chocolate counterpart, all over social media. The combination of Niko Neko roasted rice soft serve drizzled with peanut butter, raspberry sauce, and elderflower jelly has certainly captivated the hearts (and stomachs) of many — the perfect sweet ending to any meal.

Don’t forget to wash everything down with an Akane Houjicha (S$7.50) or a cuppa brewed using beans by 2° North Coffee Co.

It’s a space awash in natural sunlight with an aesthetic and pleasant ambience — I definitely foresee this cafe becoming a regular hideout for Northeast-siders.
