We might not be able to take a train or grab to Seoul for dinner just like that when we’re craving for some authentic Korean specialties, but we can get to Tanjong Pagar fairly quickly… Especially when tucked within Tanjong Pagar Plaza is where Badaro Korean Seafood is situated — a Korean sashimi and seafood restaurant serving the freshest Korean sashimi (hwe).

As you step into the restaurant, you’ll notice that most of its customers are Koreans, and that’s how you know you’ll be getting one of the more authentic Korean dining experiences here in Singapore.

The restaurant serves a really big variety of seafood —- from raw marinated dishes like ganjang gejang (raw marinated crab) and ganjang saewoo (raw marinated shrimp) to a myriad of Korean sashimi dishes and of course, the infamous sannakji (live octopus) and gaebul (penis fish).

Most people would choose to order the Badaro set meal which comes in three sizes — medium (S$200) for two to three pax, large (S$250) for three to four pax and extra large (S$300) for four to five pax.

Each set comes with assorted sashimi, oyster, tuna sashimi, beef tartare, abalone, an assortment of seafood, octopus, salmon sashimi, octopus and clear fish soup.

Depending on the season, there might also be different types of seafood that you can enjoy, so it all really depends on what’s available when you visit them. And like most Korean sashimi restaurants, you’ll also be served a fresh and spicy fish stew to end off your indulgent meal.

Though Korean seafood does tend to be a little bit more on the pricey side, the portions at Badaro Korean Seafood are said to be quite generous. Plus you’ll also be getting a plethora of unique Korean side dishes to go with your meal — so it’s definitely quite the bang for your buck!
