With all the hype around the new Barbie movie slated to be released next year (starring Margot Robbie!), there’s been a surge of interest for one of the most iconic dolls of all time with even #barbiecore coming up as the latest trend.
Located at ION Orchard, the House of Dreams is a pretty in pink Barbie exhibition with over 600 Barbie dolls on display — the biggest display of Barbie dolls ever in Singapore.
This extremely TikTok and IG-worthy display is made possible by a collaboration between Mattel and Jian Yang, an avid Barbie Doll collector with over 12 000 dolls in his collection (he also owns the second largest collection in the world!).
At the House of Dreams, you’ll find yourself surrounded by Barbie’s signature shade of pink and rows upon rows of Barbie dolls from Jian Yang’s collection — but they aren’t just any ol’ blonde-haired and blue-eyed dolls.
Here, you’ll be able to admire a myriad of Barbie dolls from all walks of life from different skin tones, ethnicities, to body shapes and more (yay for being inclusive!).
You can also find a variety of Barbie dolls modelled after some of the most iconic personalities from pop culture like Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn. You’ll even find dolls from movies like The Wizard of Oz (yes, even the Cowardly Lion)!
For the boujee babes, you’ll also love that there’s a section dedicated to designer dolls donning luxe fits from the likes of Dior, Valentino and Saint Laurent — and this is just to name a few!
If you’re tempted to get your own collection started after the exhibition, there’ll be a QR code on site for you to shop some of the Barbie merchandise they have available and have them delivered straight to your doorstep!
PS: There’ll also be a bunch of free workshops like paper couture and makeup classes to be taken!
