Hit Netflix series Emily in Paris has us all thinking of taking a Parisian vacation to see the sights, have tea at pretty patisseries and maybe, finding cute French dates. But if you’re like me, and stuck in Singapore for the time-being, Bread & Butter is one of the cutest instagrammable bakeries with Parisian-inspired treats.
What started as a home-based business during the pandemic has now blossomed into an aesthetic pink bakery in the heart of Shenton Way that delivers fresh bakes straight from the oven.
Their cinnamon sticky buns are a must-try. Drizzled in caramel glaze and sprinkled with cinnamon, the pastry is definitely one for those who have a sweet tooth. You can get one individually for S$3.80, or if you can’t get enough of their warm, gooey goodness, get a box of 12 for S$51.60.
And for those who absolutely love brownies (S$4), you can get them in assorted flavours with a rich black cocoa base, from smoked salt and dark chocolate to peanut butter & pretzel. Dig into fluffy chocolate brownies infused with sweet and savoury flavours (best eaten hot), and let the flavour engulf your senses.
Their Matcha Financier (S$2.50) is also one of the bakery’s more unique treats, with Petit French tea cakes made with premium Almond Flour, Japanese Matcha and aromatic Browned Butter.
Or take home their signature loaf cakes (S$4), with unique flavours like Gula Melaka with Salted Caramel, and Japanese Black Sesame Loaf with Kinako Crumble. Their loaf cakes are one of the bakery’s best sellers, so get yours before they sell out.
Finally, pair your pastry with black coffee (S$4), grab a chai latte (S$6), or beat the heat with their signature Osaka iced tea (S$4), and other drinks.
With so many delectable pastries to choose from, Bread & Butter is definitely the next bakery to put on your list.
